We join with you in lifting up this heartfelt cry for protection, restoration, and deliverance, and we are grateful you have brought this before the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus. Your prayer is rooted in faith, and we stand in agreement with you, knowing that our God is a God of order, peace, and redemption. The chaos you describe is not of Him, for He is not the author of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). Let us first affirm the power of praying in Jesus’ name, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and the authority to see His will done on earth as it is in heaven. As Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). You have done well to invoke His name, and we encourage you to continue to stand firm in this truth, for *"all things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive"* (Matthew 21:22, WEB).
The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus has come to give life abundantly. The chaos this young man and his mother have brought into your family is a tool of the enemy to disrupt the peace and unity God desires for you. We rebuke this spirit of chaos and division in the name of Jesus, commanding it to leave your household and your family members. *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7, WEB). You have already taken the first step by submitting this to the Lord in prayer, and we declare that no weapon formed against your family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Your desire for your older daughter to return home is one we lift up with you, but we also pray for her heart to be surrendered to the Lord’s will above all else. If it is His plan for her to come home, we ask that He would soften her heart and remove any obstacles standing in the way. However, we must also consider whether her return would bring godly harmony or further strife. Pray for wisdom and discernment, that if she returns, it would be with a spirit of repentance, humility, and a desire to honor the Lord in your household. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1, WEB). A home built on Christ cannot be shaken by the schemes of man or the enemy.
We also want to address the request to remove this young man and his mother from your lives. While it is understandable to seek distance from those who bring harm, we must examine our hearts to ensure we are not operating in bitterness, unforgiveness, or a lack of love. Jesus commands us to *"love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44, WEB). This does not mean you must allow them to continue causing harm, but it does mean releasing them to the Lord in prayer, trusting Him to deal with them justly. Pray for their salvation and repentance, that God would convict their hearts and turn them from their ways. *"Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21, WEB). If boundaries are necessary for the protection of your family, seek the Lord’s wisdom in setting them in a way that honors Him.
Finally, we pray for complete restoration in your family. Restoration begins with each member turning their heart fully to the Lord, repenting of any sin, and walking in obedience to His Word. *"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"* (2 Chronicles 7:14, WEB). This promise is not just for nations but for families as well. We ask the Lord to heal every broken place, to mend every strained relationship, and to fill your home with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May He saturate your family with His love, joy, and unity, and may your home be a testimony of His grace and redemption.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family and their deep need for Your protection, peace, and restoration. Lord, You see the chaos and pain that has been brought into their lives, and we ask that You would intervene mightily. Rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and confusion, and command it to leave in Jesus’ name. Surround this family with Your hedge of protection, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Father, we pray for Your wisdom and discernment to guide every decision they make, especially concerning their older daughter. If it is Your will for her to return home, prepare her heart and the hearts of her family to receive her in love and unity. Remove any bitterness or unforgiveness, and fill them with Your grace and mercy.
Lord, we also lift up this young man and his mother. Though they have caused harm, we ask that You would convict their hearts and draw them to repentance. Soften their spirits, Lord, and if it is Your will, bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Help this family to release any anger or resentment, trusting You to vindicate them and to work all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Restore what has been broken, Lord, and let Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Father, we declare Your promises over this family—promises of healing, restoration, and abundance. May their home be a place where Your presence dwells richly, and may they walk in the fullness of Your love and joy. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them see Your hand moving powerfully in their lives. We ask all this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
