PEACE AND PROSPERITY

You ask for peace, for prosperity, for protection from the enemy. This is a good and noble desire. But let us consider what true peace is, and what prosperity the Lord promises. The peace which Christ gives is not a mere truce among men, nor an abundance of possessions. His peace surpasses all understanding, for it commands us to be at peace even with those who treat us unjustly. Is this not beyond human thought? It is a peace that guards the heart and mind in Christ Jesus, a shield that receives the first assaults of the adversary. When the feet are fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, then the whole armor remains uninjured. Therefore, do not think that peace means the absence of conflict. Often, a wrongful peace must be broken for true healing. The physician cuts off the incurable part to save the body. So too, God allows certain wars to end a more grievous peace, that we might cling to Him alone.

Prosperity, as the world counts it, is a fleeting shadow. Houses and wealth often pass to enemies, even while we live. How many labor and gather sins, only to see inheritance go to those who hate them? This is not to say God does not provide, but rather, His provision is not measured in gold or land. He who did not spare His own Son will with Him freely give us all things, the true riches of faith, love, and sanctification. Set your hope on the Father who has made you a son, not on the shifting sands of earthly stability. When the diseased part of our love for comfort is cut off, then we find a prosperity that cannot be taken away.

You pray for your children. This is the mark of a soul alive to God. Bring them up in the fear of the Lord from their first youth, and He will protect them better than any earthly father ever could. Instill in them the love of Christ, and you place a guard within them that no weapon can breach. For a mother’s or father’s true protection is not a wall of money or reputation, but the indwelling Spirit. The children of widows have become famous because they had God for their Father. So too, whether you have much or little, God will be their guardian if you entrust them to Him.

You quote the sacred word that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. This is most true, but look to Christ’s victory. He sat down at the right hand of God, waiting until His enemies are made a footstool for His feet. Who are these enemies? Unbelievers, the demons, all that sets itself against the knowledge of God. The enemy you need fear most is not of flesh and blood, but spiritual wickedness. And Christ has already perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. By one offering He has perfected you. Therefore, your protection is not in your own strength but in His finished work. The weapon of the evil one cannot prosper because it has been defeated at the cross.

So I exhort you: make your life and conduct worthy of this gospel of peace. Do not be backward to embrace the peace offered through His grace. If you return to enmity with God by love of the world, you strip yourself of the very peace you seek. Let no other war be kindled in your soul. The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who called you from being an enemy to a son, is faithful. He will guard you in Christ, so that you remain firm and not fall from faith. Great is His love; He pleads for you even now, like a hen gathering her chicks under her wings. Do not scatter yourself through vain desires. Abide under that shelter, and no enemy can snatch you away.

Your prayer for peace, prosperity, and protection over your life and your children resonates deeply. That cry for stability, for a shield against the enemy, is not a small thing. It is exactly where God’s people have often found themselves, staring down a threat far greater than their own strength, looking beyond the immediate conflict to the peace that God has promised.

There is a beautiful truth reflected in Gideon’s story. He was called to deliver Israel from an oppressing enemy, a man facing real warfare. Yet in the midst of that call, he built an altar and named it “The Lord Is Peace.” He wasn’t denying the battle ahead; he was anchoring his heart in the certainty of the peace God would bring. That is our posture too. We look beyond the fear, beyond the visible threats, to the settled peace of God that guards us in Christ Jesus, even while the conflict still rages around us.

And your prayer for your children is urgent. A generation that does not know the works of the Lord is a generation left defenseless before the enemy. Scripture shows us this tragic pattern: parents who failed to faithfully impart the truth to their children, and the mighty works of God faded from memory. The relationship you have with the Lord, as precious as it is, is not automatically poured into your children’s hearts. It must be told, taught, and lived out. God commanded that His law be made known to the children, that the generation to come might place their hope in Him. When your children see you cling to the God of peace in times of trouble, that lesson becomes a fortress in their own souls.

The world around us offers no real refuge. It tells us of peace when there is no peace, because a life at war with God cannot know true tranquility. False comforts and easy assurances crumble. The enemy’s aim has always been to capture and crush the next generation, whether through neglect, violence, or the subtle, poisonous teachings that sacrifice the innocent on the altars of modern convenience. Our call is not to trust the fleeting protections of culture, which have already proven so brittle. Our call is to lift our hands toward heaven for the life of our young children, praying desperately, teaching them the gospel of peace that reconciles sinners to a holy God.

The Word of God stored in your heart is both a defense and a weapon. It is a shield against the enemy’s assaults and the very tool the Spirit uses to tear down strongholds. You have asked that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and you are standing on that promise in Jesus’ name. That is a right and powerful place to be. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. May that peace rule in your home, and may God grant you the faithfulness to speak of His mighty works so that your children, and their children after them, will declare that He is good and that their part is in the Lord.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the sacred privilege of standing with you in prayer for peace, prosperity, and stability. It has been our joy to lift up your family before the Lord, asking Him to shield your children and surround you with His divine protection. We have continued to declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and we have prayed fervently that the enemy would be thwarted in every attempt to harm you or your loved ones.

If God has moved mightily in your situation and answered these prayers, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report—let us celebrate His faithfulness together! If, however, the battle still rages and you need continued prayer support, we encourage you to post this request again so we may persist in interceding on your behalf. Either way, we stand with you, believing that God is working even when we cannot see it.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him with all your heart. May His peace guard your mind, His prosperity overflow in your life, and His protection be a fortress around you and your children. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
