A new church, built for the rescue of perishing men and women, stands hindered by one who ought to be a pillar but has become a stumbling block. Secret plans, whispered malice, even darkness that claims a supernatural source, all these press in upon your spirit. Yet listen: the Lord reigneth. Let that truth be the anchor in the heaving sea.
Picture a great house under construction. While the builders shouted “Grace, grace” unto it, a hand reached out to bar the door. But who is that hand? The hand of a man, and nothing more. Our God is in the habit of tearing down every false wall that rises against His purpose. He never asks leave of princes or prelates when He means to save. If the minister in charge has joined himself to the serpent’s brood, he has only ensured his own overthrow. The living God does not negotiate with those who block the path of salvation; He tramples them as straw is trampled for the dunghill. Not in wrath poured out upon you, no, but in righteous defense of His own flock. The work is the Lord’s, dear friend, and He will see it through. Let the opposition be as real as it may, the mountain shall become a plain.
I want you to step outside the clamor for a moment and look at a nest of little birds. All mouth and beak they are, gaping wide, utterly helpless, and utterly certain that the mother will fill them. That is how we are to pray, to trust, to expect. The promise runs, “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.” You have opened your mouth for this church, for your family’s protection, for daily bread. Your zeal for the Lord’s house is plain, but take care lest the fire you call down consume your own soul. You ask for prosperity, for the destruction of enemies, for the burning of every demonic work. Yet what does Christ teach? “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.” Can you, in the same breath, ask the Lord to fight your enemies and also to fulfill His desire to cast fire upon the earth? That fire is the flame of holy love, not the blaze of wrath against those who hinder you. It is a fire that first purges the heart of him who carries it. So I ask: does your own house need cleansing? For it is written, “Shall you be angry, and not sin?”
You seek more work and income daily. God indeed gives the increase; the earth yields her fruit not by the farmer’s skill but by the command of the Most High. Yet why do you seek abundance? Is it to fulfill the lusts of the flesh, to live in softness, to heap up wealth for its own sake, or to serve the common good? Make provision for the body, yes, but only for health and necessity, not for wantonness. Use whatever gain God sends to clothe the naked, to feed the hungry, to protect the stranger. Engage your money in a spiritual traffic. Let the poor sit at your table; they will repay you by their prayers and by keeping your heart from greed.
You speak of enemies who hinder the opening of a church. The apostle Paul did not curse those who opposed him, but labored with tears, becoming all things to all men that he might save some. If a minister has set himself against you, examine yourself: is there no root of bitterness in your own heart? Have you rushed into conflict instead of waiting upon God? To stand nobly when dragged forth is one thing; to rush into battle is vainglory. Do not be quick to name every obstacle as witchcraft or demonic work, for often our own pride blocks the way more than any enemy. Pray rather that God would open the door of faith for all, even for those who now resist. If they are false brethren, leave them to the judgment of the Lord, whose winnowing fan is in His hand.

Do not mar the gain of right doctrine by the vileness of such prayers. So go, and reconcile with that brother if possible; or at least, cease to curse him in your prayers, lest you be found fighting against God.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do. God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
