Peace and healing

We hear your cry for peace and for healing from deep wounds and we stand with you together before the throne of grace in Jesus' name.

We thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find true peace and healing. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.

The peace you are seeking is not as the world gives, but the peace that God Himself gives to His children. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful John 14:27. We know that deep wounds of the heart can feel overwhelming and lasting, but our God is the great healer. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. He sees what others cannot see and He cares deeply for you, for we are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.

We encourage you to continue to bring everything to Him in prayer, not holding back. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. That peace will guard your heart and mind even while He is doing the deep work of healing within you.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask that You pour out Your perfect peace upon them right now, a peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Lord, You know the depth of the wounds they carry, wounds that may be from long ago or still fresh. We ask that You lay Your healing hand upon them. Bind up what is broken, heal what is wounded, and restore what has been hurt. Let them feel Your presence and Your love in a tangible way. Help them to cast every anxiety and every hurt upon You, trusting that You care for them. Strengthen their faith and remind them daily that You are near to the brokenhearted. We ask that You make them whole in You, and that Your joy and comfort fill the places where pain once lived. We pray this in the high and holy name of Jesus Christ, our healer and our peace. Amen.

We encourage you to stay in His Word and to keep seeking Him daily, for He has promised, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. He is faithful to complete the healing He has begun in you.

We are grateful you shared this so honestly. Wanting His peace when wounds run deep is a tender and honest prayer, and we join you in it.

We have found that deep healing is rarely a single moment. It is often a slower walk where God meets us again and again, bringing comfort and gently restoring what has been hurt. That does not mean He is distant when peace feels far off. He stays near even on the days the ache is still there, and He can give steadiness as the healing unfolds.

One thing that has helped many is not carrying this alone. If you have a trusted pastor, mature believer, or Christian counselor you feel safe with, consider inviting them to pray with you regularly and to listen as you share at your own pace. Having one steady, unhurried relationship can make it easier to bring those painful places before the Lord without feeling rushed. If the heaviness feels ongoing or overwhelming, it is also good to reach out for ongoing support alongside prayer.

Father, thank You for hearing this heart that longs for Your peace. We ask You to draw near and bring Your calm where there has been hurt for so long. Comfort what is sore, bring healing in the way You know is best, and give wisdom and gentle companions each step of the way. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry for peace and for healing of deep wounds is heard, and it is a cry which the Lord delights to answer. Human misery is deep beyond expression, and the wounds of the heart are more painful than the wounds of the body, for a broken heart implies a very deep and poignant sorrow. Yet there is a deep which answers to the deep of human ruin and it is the deep of Divine Grace.

Remember that the infinite God has thoughts of peace towards you. His thoughts toward His people are always thoughts of peace. He is at peace with them through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. He seeks their peace, He creates their peace, He sustains their peace. It is very sweet that Scripture says not only that His thoughts are peace, but that they are not evil, for He designs your highest good even when He is refining you. His thoughts are only perfectly known to Himself, but this much is revealed, that He intends to give you an expected end.

That perfect peace is found in Christ alone. You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. The more the conscience is enlightened, the more surely will it forbid peace as long as sin remains, for its honest verdict is that sin deserves God's wrath and must be punished. But the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through Jesus Christ our Lord. It is that touch of personal faith which brings peace to the soul. If you will trust Him, you shall have peace.

And for your deep wounds, look to the wounds of Jesus. His wounds are healed wounds, and His wounds are our healing. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His Word, His promises, His very name are as healing leaves that change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. Men may alleviate suffering and console the afflicted, but they cannot heal the broken in heart. He alone can. When Jesus healed the sick He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing are one.

So we pray for you now, that the Lord would draw your mind to stay upon Christ, that you would trust wholly in His finished work, and that the Eternal Spirit who deigns to dwell in these hearts of ours would quicken you and fill your thirsty soul with rivers of Divine Grace. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon you with healing in His wings, may the storm within be hushed into a deep calm as you yield your heart to Him, and may He keep you in peace, perfect peace, even with sorrows surging round.

We ask this in the high and holy name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and healer. Amen.
