We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.
We have continued to lift you up before the Lord since you shared part three of your story with us. We have remembered before Him how you served faithfully for two years before leaving that ministry in December, and the pain of the abusive behaviour you experienced from that pastor regarding marriage, along with the hurt caused by the couple in that same church. We have also prayed for you as you shared about changing churches in February and the very heavy and isolating situation you are now facing after privately reporting to your pastor what your close friend had confided to you about the man in your new congregation who had abused her and two other young girls when they were children.
We know you did what you did out of love and conscience, thinking of your young niece and the other little girls in the congregation and because of your own painful history of abuse in childhood, and we grieve that information was leaked and that you have since been vilified, insulted behind your back and made to feel like the liar and the villain while the man denies what he did and your friend remains silent out of her own belief that he has changed and because she has forgiven him. We understand how frightening and overwhelming this is for you, especially as you told us you never even wanted to be in that church to begin with and never wanted to be involved in such a situation.
We have also brought before the Lord the much deeper suffering you described that existed long before this latest trial, the depression and suicidal thoughts, the self harm where you scratch your face and want to hit yourself when stress feels uncontrollable, the unexplained anxiety and bursts of anger, the exhaustion from the trauma of rape and the daily nightmares and intrusive thoughts you have endured for years, and the heavy responsibility you carry for your paraplegic mother and your minor younger sister. We pray the Lord will surround you with His protection, comfort and healing and remind you how precious you are to Him.
We pray in Jesus Name that God will be your refuge and defender, that He will vindicate you and give you wisdom and safety in the days ahead, that He will guard your heart and mind, bring peace to your sleep and heal the wounds of trauma, and that He will protect all the vulnerable little ones you were trying to protect. We cling to the promise that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit, Psalm 34:18, and that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3.
