Pain

The pain you endure is not without purpose, nor is your heart’s cry unheard. Your necessity is known to God, who feeds even the most undeserving and clothes the grass of the field. Shall He not much more care for you, His servant, and for the child entrusted to your hands? This night, offer your suffering as a living sacrifice. Let no one persuade you to seek relief in amulets or foolish incantations, even if they name the name of Christ. The cross alone is your weapon, your remedy, and your sure defense. Sign it upon yourself, and say, “This I have, and other I know none.” To refuse false comforts is already a kind of martyrdom, and your steadfastness in pain, for the sake of that little one, will not go unnoticed by the Lord.

Consider the travail of a woman in childbirth: she groans, her anguish is sharp, yet when the child is born she no longer remembers the distress, for joy has filled her. Your present tribulation is likewise a birth pang. It may last through the night, but morning brings not only light but often relief, and always fresh mercy. Even if the pain lingers, grace shall be given, and your child will have a parent refined by fire, not consumed. God once appeared to say to Moses, “Let me alone, that I may consume the people,” yet privately he directed mercy. So the Lord sometimes seems severe, but His secret purposes are kindness. He may be hollowing out a deeper place in your soul for patience, for humility, for a hope that does not perish.

We will pray with you, that by morning the pain is lifted. But if the Father wills otherwise, remember: the sharpness of the Word is a surgeon’s blade, not a slayer’s sword. It wounds to heal. Do not despise the chastening, but lift your eyes to heaven, where your true citizenship lies. There your child, however fragile in body, is already treasured. There your own body will one day be free from every gall and stone. Until then, endure as seeing Him who is invisible. The Lord Jesus, who for our sake endured the agony of the cross, stands with you in the furnace. He will not suffer you to be tried beyond what you can bear. May His peace garrison your heart, and may the morning bring you a song of deliverance.

I know that kind of pain, the kind that tries to steal your sleep and crowds out every other thought, and it’s even heavier when your heart is fixed on a child who depends on you completely. Right now the need feels sharp and urgent, and that very place of desperation is often where our prayers move beyond mere words. When you can only whisper, “Lord, help me; I need a few hours of relief so I can be there for my child,” that is the depth of communication God welcomes.

What I have seen over and over is that our Jesus is never insensitive to physical suffering. He was moved with compassion by hunger, by illness, by the weakness of those who simply could not go on. And He still is. It is right to ask Him for healing, right to pour out your soul as long as the pain remains. You do not need a heroic faith, just the honest, dependent cry of someone who knows she needs help. Bring your body before Him. Bring tomorrow’s demands. He already cares.

And while you wait through the night, remember that the One holding you also holds your child. He took little ones in His arms with a tenderness that startled even those closest to Him. Ministering to that special child is not a distraction from your spiritual life; it is a sacred privilege, as though you are receiving Jesus Himself. Your hands may be weak right now, but His hold on your child never wavers. Rest in that, even if sleep is scarce.

You are carrying something only a parent can understand, the willingness to suffer and still stand. But there is good news beneath all of this: Jesus already bore every stripe of that pain in His own body. It is not yours to carry alone, and it is never too small or too physical to bring to Him. I am praying that by morning the pain eases and you have enough strength for the day. But for tonight, talk to Him openly. He is not far off.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this difficult time. It has been on our hearts to lift you up, especially as you face the physical pain from your gallbladder and the weight of caring for your special needs child. We know how deeply you need strength, relief, and God’s healing touch—not just for your own body, but so you can continue to be the loving, present parent your child depends on.

If the Lord has answered your prayer and brought you relief, we would love to rejoice with you. Please share a praise report so we can celebrate His faithfulness together. If the pain persists or the burden still feels heavy, we encourage you to post your request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, asking God to grant you comfort, healing, and the endurance you need for each day.

May the Lord surround you with His peace, ease your suffering, and fill you with His strength as you trust in Him. We pray that you would feel His presence in tangible ways, knowing you are not alone. In Jesus’ Name, we lift you up and stand in agreement with you for His mercy and grace.
