I'm having some lower back pain. Please pray and ask God if He could please heal me and not let it turn into sciatica. Thank you and God bless you. I ask in the name of Jesus. ###

We come before the Lord together, lifting up your request for healing from lower back pain and protection from sciatica. The Bible reminds us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." We stand on this promise, believing that God hears our prayers and is able to bring healing and restoration to your body.

Father in Heaven, we thank You for the gift of life and the opportunity to come before You in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask that You lay Your healing hands upon our brother/sister, touching their lower back with Your divine power. Lord, we rebuke any pain, inflammation, or potential sciatica in the name of Jesus. We declare that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Strengthen their body, restore their health, and grant them relief from this discomfort. We trust in Your mercy and grace, knowing that You are the Great Physician who cares deeply for Your children.

We also encourage you to seek wise counsel and medical advice, as the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Take care of yourself, rest when needed, and trust that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Remember that even in times of physical struggle, God’s love and presence are with you. Lean on Him, and allow His peace to guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:6-7).

Continue to stand on God’s Word, claiming His promises over your life. We pray that you experience His healing touch and walk in the fullness of health that He desires for you. May you feel His presence and comfort as you wait on Him. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We’re joining you in bringing this pain to the Lord, and we know how unsettling lower back discomfort can be, especially when fear of sciatica starts to take hold. It’s easy for our minds to race ahead to worst-case scenarios, but we’re asking God to calm that anxiety and bring real relief right where you hurt.

We’ve found that knowing others are praying, praying specifically and faithfully, gives a steady ground under our feet when symptoms feel unpredictable. So please receive this as a quiet assurance: we are praying with you, not just for a moment but carrying your request together. God cares about our bodies, and we can trust Him with every ache.

While we pray, we’d also gently encourage you not to ignore what your body is telling you. If the pain lingers or limits your daily movement, a visit to a doctor or physical therapist can be a wise step of stewardship, not a lack of faith. Sometimes God answers prayer through the skill and insight He’s given medical professionals.

Lord Jesus, we lift up our friend now. You know exactly where the pain sits and the worry that shadows it. We ask for Your healing touch, release muscle tension, soothe inflamed nerves, and guard against any progression toward sciatica. Bring peace that stands firm even in discomfort. Give wisdom for any next steps, and help our friend to rest in Your care tonight. In Your name alone we pray, Amen.

The instinct that drives you to seek relief from bodily pain is a right one; we very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician. But let your first cry be to the Great Physician, for it is not blasphemy but faith that bids you venture near God's throne, even if you feel unworthy. I send for a doctor from the most selfish motive, for my own good, not for his, and so it must be with you. A true prayer from one who is near unto the gates of death, or merely near unto the threat of sciatica, is a prevailing prayer. We have prayed here in this congregation with such intensity as I believe was never excelled; we have laid hold of the healing power that comes only through prayer. So lift your solitary cry with us: the Church must pray if she would have the healing power.

Consider the medicine God has appointed for the very purpose of healing. He takes care of the little things, the trifles of believers, and even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, the common things, the lower blessings of Divine Grace, are full of virtue. But know this also: the great conduit Head from which all healing flows is Christ Jesus our Lord, who took our sicknesses and carried our infirmities. The one great cure-all, that bitter medicine of His own suffering, was not for you to drink, but was all drained by Himself. Calvary is the place for the healing balm, and when the Lord Jesus comes to heal, He so often speaks pardon and healing as one. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He said, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” Pardon and healing were one. I pray, therefore, not only that your spinal distress be arrested, but that if there be any chastening in this, it may be a fatherly token that drives you nearer to the Sun of Righteousness, who has risen with healing in His wings. Do not be afraid to pray, for the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Wrestle with Christ about your frame; beseech Him for your body, and never fail to beseech Him for your soul.

Let your hearing of this word be with heed. Hear the Word of the Lord for yourself; with your own measure it shall be measured back to you. If you come to God’s Word and to the throne of grace seeking the solid truth of His restorative power, you shall find it. There is healing for you, and the leaves of that tree are given and appointed for that very purpose. Be of good cheer, for the power of the Lord is present to heal, and He has not withdrawn Himself into the wilderness beyond your reach. Rise then from your bed of pain, or bear it patiently until He speaks the word, and when He does, may your first impulse be to minister unto Him with all your restored strength. Oh that you would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men, for He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness.

Upon the bed of pain, the body cries out, and the soul is summoned to attention. See how the Lord, when He touched the mother-in-law of Peter, did not merely quench the fever but restored her to perfect health all at once, showing His power over every ailment. The same Hand that calmed her frame is stretched out still. Yet consider this: if we have any bodily ailment, we do and contrive everything to be rid of what pains us; but when our soul is indisposed, we delay and draw back. From this neglect, neither sort of healing is delivered, for we leave the fountain of ills untended while we would cleanse the streams. Your back cries out, and it is right to cry out in return to the Physician who needs no command to act, who lays down His care for us of His own accord, as the good Shepherd for the sheep.

Pray then, and we shall pray with you, not with words of empty comfort but with the medicine of earnest supplication. Yet let the pain itself become a tutor. For nothing is more delightful than this discourse, by how much nothing is more bitter than the reality; even the galling word keeps off the far greater calamity of falling away. This present sharpness braces the soul, makes it reverent, elevates the mind, and casts out the mischievous desires that beset us. The lower back pains you, reminding you that the body is a temporary habitation, and that the true health of the inward man must not be neglected while the outer man groans. Seek the healing, and believe He grants it in the manner and time that best serves your salvation. Whether He touches and the fever of pain departs at once, or whether He permits the thorn to remain that you might learn a deeper dependence, His care is unfailing. I a servant and debtor to all am entrusted to speak what profits, even when it stings; for the word that pierces the heart now may preserve it from the racks reserved for the unrepentant. Offer your ache as an occasion for patience, and let the cry for bodily relief be joined to the greater petition: that whatever befalls, you stand a pure virgin espoused to one Husband, untainted by the world’s corrosion.
