We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of pain in both the back and stomach. Physical suffering is a reminder of the fallen world we live in, but we know that our God is a healer and a comforter. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We trust in His promise to sustain and restore, even in the midst of discomfort.
Father, we ask You to lay Your healing hands upon this body. Bring relief to the back and soothe the stomach, Lord. We know that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. In Jeremiah 32:27, You declare, "Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?" We believe in Your power to heal and restore. Guide the hands of any medical professionals involved, and grant wisdom to those seeking answers for this pain.
We also recognize that physical pain can be a call to examine our lives before You. In 1 Corinthians 11:30-31, we read, "For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep. For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn’t be judged." Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness that may be contributing to this suffering, reveal it so that it may be brought to the light and dealt with in repentance. We pray for a heart that seeks You above all else, for You are our refuge and strength.
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or sickness that may be attacking this body in the name of Jesus Christ. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand on the authority of Your Word, which declares in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We resist any works of darkness and command them to leave in Jesus’ mighty name.
We also encourage seeking godly counsel and medical advice, for You often work through the hands and minds of those You have gifted with wisdom. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Trust in the Lord’s provision and timing, knowing that He cares deeply for every aspect of our lives.
Lord, we pray for patience and endurance during this time of trial. Help this individual to cast all their anxieties on You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). May they find peace in Your presence, even in the midst of pain, and may their faith be strengthened as they wait on You. We declare that this suffering will not be in vain but will be used for Your glory and their growth in Christ.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
