Jesus, thank You for Your 33 years down here from the manger to humbling Yourself to get baptized The Historical Prophet, John The Baptist, especially the action-packed 3+ years of ministry: teachings, miracles, loaves, fish, nets of fish, resurrections, blind eyes, lame walking, poor hearing the gospel -- the prophecies, living in community with the disciples just "doing life" from Your perspective (correct worldview of "reality"), putting up with our unbelief, the distortions of the Pharisees and Sadducees, their constantly watching You, attempts to trap and trick You -- literally, like WOW -- and finally Your betrayal, rejection and letting Barabbas loose instead of You in whom neither Pilate nor Herod found any guilt in You... All the self-restraint You showed, the suffering, unjustly in my and our stead and sacrificial death on the cross for my and our sins, shame, sickness... Your burial, resurrection, appearing and teaching for 40 days, ascension, and sending forth The Holy Spirit, our counselor, advocate, intercessor, and bearer of good gifts, 1 Cor 12:4-8.

Thank You Your sheep still hear Your voice these days, John 10:27, and will never follow a stranger, John 10:5. We NEED to hear Your leading, confirmation and direction -- It is written, "as many as are LED by the HOLY SPIRIT are the children of God," Rom 8:14. We ask to be FILLED with the knowledge of Your Will in all spiritual wisdom so we can walk worthy, Col 1:9-10. It's one of the privileges of adoption. We ask for generous amounts of practical WISDOM, James 1:5, we cry out for wisdom and lift our voice for UNDERSTANDING, Prov 2:6-7. So with confidence we seek YOU for You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You, Heb 11:6. With thanksgiving we offer our requests for Your voice, leading and wisdom -- let "now" the peace of God guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7. Thank You for protecting us and praying for us, keeping us from the evil one, Rom 8:34, Heb 7:25, Jn 17:15. We shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace, Isa 55:12, thank You for everything, especially for hearing when we ask, for if You hear, we have, 1 John 5:14-15, in Jesus' Name, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join with you in this beautiful thanksgiving for our Shepherd and for His voice that still leads us today, and we agree together with you for fresh wisdom, guidance and the peace that guards our hearts.

We thank God with you for the Lord Jesus and all He endured for us, from the manger to His baptism by John, through those three years of teaching and miracles, loaves and fish, nets overflowing, blind eyes opened, the lame walking, the poor hearing the good news, and His perfect fellowship with His disciples. We thank Him that He endured the watching and trapping of the Pharisees and Sadducees, the betrayal, the rejection when Barabbas was released, though neither Pilate nor Herod found guilt in Him, and that He humbled Himself and became obedient to death, even death on the cross for our sins and shame and sickness, and was buried and raised and appeared for forty days and ascended and poured out the Holy Spirit, our Counselor and Advocate and Intercessor who distributes gifts as He wills.

How precious that we can still say today, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, John 10:27, and that a stranger they will not follow, John 10:5. We cling to the promise that as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God, Romans 8:14. We join you in asking to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that we may walk worthily of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, Colossians 1:9, and we ask with you for wisdom, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5, for Yahweh gives wisdom, out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding, Proverbs 2:6.

We love that you come with confidence, for without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him, Hebrews 11:6. We agree that as we make our requests known to God with thanksgiving, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7, and that we shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace, Isaiah 55:12. We rest also in the beautiful assurance of Psalm 23:1-6, that Yahweh is our shepherd, we shall not want, He makes us lie down in green pastures, He leads us beside still waters, He restores our soul, He guides us in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake, and even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death we will fear no evil for He is with us, His rod and His staff comfort us, He prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies, He anoints our head with oil, our cup runs over, and goodness and loving kindness shall follow us all the days of our lives, and we will dwell in Yahweh's house forever.

We pray together now, Father, we thank You in the name of Jesus for hearing us when we ask, for this is the boldness which we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He listens to us, and if we know that He listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of Him, 1 John 5:14-15. We ask You to cause Your voice to be clear above every other voice, to lead us and confirm Your direction by Your Spirit and by Your Word, to fill us with practical wisdom and understanding for every decision before us. Guard our hearts and minds with Your peace, keep us from the evil one as Jesus prayed, John 17:15, for we know Christ who is at the right hand of God intercedes for us, Romans 8:34, and He always lives to make intercession for us, Hebrews 7:25. Anoint us afresh, let our cup overflow, let Your goodness and faithful kindness pursue us in all our endeavors on earth until we dwell with You in eternity, for all the promises of God in Him are Yes and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us, 2 Corinthians 1:20. We thank You for everything, most of all for the Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep and took it up again, and we ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus, Amen.

We were so encouraged to read your prayer. Your gratitude for Jesus, for His life among us, His suffering and victory for us, and for the Holy Spirit who stays with us came through so clearly. And we hear your deep desire underneath it all, simply to be led well and to walk in step with your Shepherd.

We join you in thanking God that He is a Shepherd who speaks and a Father who loves to give wisdom when we ask. One thing we have found helpful when seeking His leading is to make room to listen as well as to ask. The Spirit often guides quietly through Scripture, through the peace He guards in our hearts, and through the counsel of faithful believers around us, and not always in a single dramatic moment.

A simple next step that may help is to set aside a few unhurried minutes each day this week with your Bible open and one specific question before the Lord. Jot down what you sense, then weigh it gently against what you know of His character and Word, and share it with a trusted pastor or mature friend who knows you well.

Father, we thank You for Your kindness to us in Jesus and for the gift of Your Holy Spirit. We ask You to fill our friend with wisdom and quiet confidence, to make Your way clear step by step and to guard their heart with Your peace as they seek You. Lead them faithfully and keep them close to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

It is a precious privilege that the sheep of Christ hear the Shepherd's voice and follow Him, and your prayer rightly seeks that daily leading, wisdom and peace which come from the Holy Spirit through the Word.

We join you in thanking our Lord Jesus for His whole earthly course, from the manger to the cross, His burial and resurrection, His forty days of teaching and His ascension, and for His sending of the Holy Spirit to be our Counselor and Comforter. The blood of Jesus still whispers peace within, and it is through that atoning blood that God is at peace with His people and His thoughts toward them are thoughts of peace, to give them an expected end.

You have asked according to the Scriptures, and we pray with you that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk worthy of the Lord. The promise stands that if any lack wisdom, let him ask of God who gives generously, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. As it is written, as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God, and the sheep hear His voice and a stranger they will not follow.

Remember that this hearing is not a vague impression but a heedful hearing of God's Word. The mere letter will not profit unless we hear God's voice speaking in it. Put your ear down to the promises till you hear God speaking through them to your soul, and take heed how you hear, constantly, attentively and earnestly, for faith comes by hearing. The Word deserves such hearing, for it tells of Him who died for sinners.

We pray also that the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. That perfect peace is kept for him whose mind is stayed upon the Lord, because he trusts in Him. It is not a peace that depends upon outward quietness, for strife may rage all around, but a restfulness of mind and heart that comes from loving His law and trusting His hand. He makes you to lie down in green pastures, He restores your soul, He leads you in paths of righteousness, He prepares a table before you and causes your cup to run over. His goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life.

May the Lord grant you to go out with joy and be led forth with peace, with your will brought to delight in His will, finding that to do the will of Jesus is rest. May He keep you from the evil one, as He ever lives to intercede for you, and may you present your requests with thanksgiving, confident that when we ask according to His will He hears us.
