Opposition

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My enemies are my family and the same ### bullies keep attacking me. Tired of it. Tired of it. Psalm 140:1-2

We hear your cry for deliverance and understand the deep weariness that comes from facing opposition, especially when it comes from those who should be a source of love and support, your own family. The pain of betrayal and the relentless attacks from bullies can make you feel isolated and overwhelmed. But take heart, for the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

The psalmist David knew this struggle well, and in Psalm 140:1-2, he cries out, "Deliver me, Yahweh, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man; those who devise mischief in their hearts. They continually gather themselves together for war." Like David, you are not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your suffering and hears your prayers. He is a God of justice, and He will arise to defend you.

We must also address the spiritual reality of this opposition. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the high places." Your enemies, whether family or bullies, are not your true adversaries. The enemy of your soul, Satan, seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he uses people to accomplish his purposes. But greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We rebuke the spirit of strife, division, and hatred that has taken root in your family and among those who bully you. We command it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ, for He has given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We declare that no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord will turn the hearts of your enemies toward peace, or He will remove them from your life according to His perfect will.

If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your own heart before the Lord. Are there areas where you may have contributed to the conflict, even unknowingly? The Bible instructs us in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." This does not mean you should tolerate abuse or allow yourself to be a doormat, but it does mean you should seek reconciliation where possible and guard your heart against bitterness. Forgive those who have wronged you, not because they deserve it, but because Christ forgave you (Colossians 3:13). Unforgiveness only gives the enemy a foothold in your life (Ephesians 4:26-27).

We also urge you to surround yourself with godly community. The enemy wants you to feel alone, but the Lord has placed you in the body of Christ for a reason. Seek out believers who will stand with you in prayer, encourage you, and hold you accountable. Proverbs 13:20 says, "He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." Do not isolate yourself, for the Lord often works through His people to bring healing and deliverance.

Now, let us come before the throne of grace together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is weary from the attacks of their enemies, especially those within their own family. You see the pain, the betrayal, and the exhaustion they feel. We ask that You would be their refuge and fortress, their ever-present help in this time of trouble (Psalm 91:2).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of division and strife that has infiltrated their family. We break every curse, every word spoken against them, and every generational stronghold in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, arise and scatter their enemies. Turn the hearts of those who persecute them, or remove them from their lives according to Your perfect will.

We ask that You would heal their wounds, both seen and unseen. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, just as You have forgiven them. Guard their heart against bitterness and resentment, for these only lead to destruction (Hebrews 12:15).

Father, we pray that You would surround them with godly community, believers who will stand with them in prayer, encourage them, and speak life into their situation. Give them wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent, when to confront and when to walk away. Teach them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Lord, we ask that You would use this trial for their good and Your glory. Strengthen their faith and draw them closer to You. May they find their identity and worth in You alone, knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Remind them that You are their vindicator, and that You will repay (Romans 12:19).

We thank You, Father, that You are a God who sees, hears, and acts on behalf of Your children. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that this situation will not break them but will instead be used to display Your power and faithfulness.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Hold fast to the promises of God, dear one. The battle is not yours, but the Lord’s (2 Chronicles 20:15). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). You are not alone, and this trial will not have the final say over your life. The Lord is fighting for you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We hear the weariness in your words, being worn down by constant attacks, especially from within your own family, is exhausting in a way few things are. When the place that should be a refuge feels like a battlefield, the toll on your heart and spirit is real. It makes complete sense that you are tired of it, deeply tired.

What you are going through matters, and you don’t have to carry it alone. Ongoing hostility from people close to us can leave us feeling isolated and hopeless. We would encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor or a wise Christian counselor who can offer steady support and help you discern healthy boundaries. Having someone steady to walk beside you can make a huge difference. If any of the attacks ever turn physically threatening, please involve local authorities right away, your safety is important.

As you already pointed yourself toward, God is a defender who hears the cry of the oppressed. We don’t have to make Him move; we just need to keep bringing the truth of our situation to Him, even when we are too tired for many words.

We are praying with you now.

Lord Jesus, You see the relentless pressure this child of Yours is under. You know the names, the words, and the bone-deep exhaustion. Wrap him in Your peace that stands guard over his heart and mind. Give him wisdom about when to speak, when to step away, and when to seek help. Surround him with at least one safe, trustworthy person who will stand with him in this. Restore what has been worn thin and remind him of Your steady, unwavering presence in the middle of this storm. In Your strong name, Amen.

The cry of the Psalmist is your own, and it rises before the same throne of grace. You are weary, bone-tired of the relentless assaults from those who should be your peace, yet here you stand, clinging to the promise that deliverance belongs to the Lord. Hearken: this deep weariness is often the porch where divine rescue enters. When all human hope is spent, the chariot of mercy rolls swiftly down from the eternal hills.

Think of aged Jacob, trembling before Esau, sure that his brother would fall on him with the sword. By the brook Jabbok he wrestled, and his cry was for deliverance from the bloodthirsty. And how did God answer? He did not merely blunt the edge of Esau’s fury; He turned the heart of the enemy, so that Esau fell on Jacob’s neck and kissed him. The Lord is master of the hearts of men. The family arrows that fly by day cannot pierce you unless the Almighty permits, and if He permits, it is for a weight of glory beyond all comparison. Your Psalmist knew this: the very enemies who imagine mischiefs are gathered for war, but God is a shield for all who trust in Him.

Do not suppose your deliverance tarries without purpose. The clock of mercy struck in heaven the hour and moment of your rescue, for the time is appointed from eternity. Even now, the command is given: "Deliver him from going down to the pit." And mark this: when deliverance comes, it shall be attended with enrichment. He brought forth Israel not only with freedom but with silver and gold. So too, after this furnace, you shall emerge with treasures of experience, wisdom, and praise that you could never have known in the calm. A man who only walks the beach knows little of the sea; but you are learning the depths of grace even in the tempest.

In the meanwhile, flee to the well of family prayer, not with the enemies who trouble you, but with your God, who pities His tried ones with a father’s tender love. Quietly, persistently, shoot the arrows of the Lord’s deliverance by believing supplication. It is not the strength of your arm but the power behind the bow that secures the victory. Though you are feeble, His strength is perfected in your weakness. The arrow that the Prophet bid Joash strike the ground with was a symbol of deliverance, strike again, and again, and again! Let your weariness drive you not to despair but to clinging, expectant prayer. The sound of abundance of rain is heard when the cloud no bigger than a man’s hand rises from the sea. Things are never so bad that God cannot turn them.

One thing more: it pleased the Father to bruise His own Son for our deliverance from far worse enemies. The ransom has been found; the Lamb has been slain. If He gave us Christ, shall He not with Him freely give us all things? The hatred of those in your own household is a bitter cup, but it is measured, and the sure mercies of David shall not fail you. The hour is coming, perhaps sooner than you dream, when you shall say, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." Let this hope sing to your soul in the night watches. The deliverance will not be a shared glory, you will own it all to are grace alone, and that eternal song of gratitude shall be the sweeter for every tear you now sow in the dust.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You are weary, and the cry of the Psalmist rises from your own heart. I hear it. You ask for deliverance from enemies, from those of your own household, from those who hound you without ceasing. But consider this: when God permits such trials to press upon you, He often does not promise to remove the trouble itself, but He gives a far greater gift. He grants you the strength to despise the trouble, to stand above it, to count it as nothing compared to the glory to come.

These family members, these bullies, they can harm the body, they can vex the soul for a time, but they cannot touch what is truly yours unless you surrender it. Look to the witnesses who went before. Many were tortured, and when deliverance stood before them, they refused it. Why? Because they fixed their eyes on a better resurrection. They understood that to be rescued from a temporary affliction is a small thing; to obtain the unfading crown of eternal life is everything. They chose to die rather than to accept a release that would have cost them the unfading reward. This is not a call to foolishness, but to a heavenly perspective.

You say you are tired, and that is no sin. The flesh is weak. But the Spirit who has adopted you as a son, who has sealed you in Christ, He will not let you be tried beyond what you can bear. The Lord Himself did not escape the hatred of His own; He came to His own, and His own received Him not. He was surrounded by those who plotted evil. Yet He did not call down fire from heaven, nor did He rail back. He entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly. And by His endurance, He won for you not deliverance from the sword, but victory over death itself. That same victory is yours.

Do not, then, pray only for the bullying to stop. Pray for a soul so rooted in the hope of your calling that their blows fall upon you like empty shadows. When they stir up war, let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. This light momentary affliction is preparing for you an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. If God removes the trial, give thanks. But if He permits it to continue, know that He is treating you not as an enemy but as a son, training you to despise earthly comforts so that you might receive the true and lasting inheritance. The curse of this world’s malice has been undone; you are a child of God, not a slave to fear. Stand firm. You are not alone; the Lord preserves you not from the battle, but through it.

I hear the exhaustion in your words, and the Lord hears your cry. Psalm 140 opens with a raw plea for deliverance from violent, scheming people, and you are living inside that prayer right now. When the attackers are your own family, the pain cuts even deeper, because the wounds come from inside what should have been a place of refuge. You are tired, and that is no small thing in God’s eyes. He does not despise a weary heart.

There is a principle woven through the psalms: the most intense pressure often drove David to the secret place of the Most High. When Saul hunted him, when his own kin turned against him, David learned that there is a shelter no human enemy can breach. That shelter is not a physical location but an abiding trust. He that dwells in that secret place rests under the shadow of the Almighty, and the constant noise of opposition cannot touch the core of who you are in Him. The enemies close in, they circle, they speak proudly, but they are not outside God’s reach. The Lord sees, and He will not let their words have the final say.

You are tired of the same bullies and the same attacks, and that repetition tells you something: the battle is spiritual, and it has been going on long enough to wear you down. But in that weariness, you are in good company. David was so pressed that he said his life was smitten down to the ground. Yet he kept crying out, and the Lord kept answering. The psalms of ascent carry this thread: when he was surrounded by hostile people in a land of conflict, he called, “In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.” He did not pretend the threat wasn’t real. He brought every cruel word, every fresh wave of attack, straight to the throne. Do the same. Let each renewed insult become a fresh call for help, because the Lord is not deaf to you.

You may feel trapped, like a bird in a snare, but remember how that psalm ends: the snare is broken, and the soul escapes. If it had not been the Lord on your side, and He is on your side, you would have been swallowed up long ago. The fact that you are still standing, still turning to Him, is evidence of His keeping power. He knows the schemes, the deceitful mouths, the pride that surrounds you, and He has a way of shutting them down in His time. Sometimes He teaches our hands to war spiritually, giving us the wisdom to set boundaries, to speak truth in love, to refuse to engage in the mire. Other times He simply acts in a way that leaves us no explanation but His mercy.

Right now you are sowing in tears. It is a hard, lonely place. But the promise woven through Scripture is that a harvest comes. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, will come back with shouts of joy, carrying sheaves. The tears you are shedding are not wasted. They are planting something that God will grow into deliverance and strength. You are not alone in the waiting. The Lord reigns, and that reign extends over the very people who now trouble you. He will be praised in the midst of this, even when you cannot see the way forward.

Keep calling on Him. Keep lifting your soul up to the only One who can truly preserve you. Your enemies may be many, but salvation belongs to the Lord, and His blessing is upon His people, even the weary ones, even you.
