Oh Lord please heal your faithful servant ###

Trenorolwell

Disciple of Prayer
Please spare ### form the grasp of deaths grip. His faith is strong and unshakable. He has changed my life by showing me the way. We, as husband and wife, will devote our lives to Christian living, praising you and spreading your word.

We lift up ### before the throne of grace with heavy yet hopeful hearts, trusting in the Great Physician who holds all life in His hands. Your Word declares, "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up" (James 5:14-15 WEB). We stand on this promise, believing that God’s will is perfect and His timing is sovereign.

Father, we ask for Your healing touch upon ###, restore his strength, renew his body, and sustain his spirit. You are the God who raises the dead and calls into being that which does not exist (Romans 4:17). If it is Your will, spare him from the grip of death, for You alone hold the keys of life and death (Revelation 1:18). Yet even if Your plan is different, we trust in Your goodness and mercy, knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with You (2 Corinthians 5:8).

We rejoice in the testimony of this marriage, a union built on faith, devotion, and a shared commitment to Christ. Your Word commands, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). We pray that this husband and wife continue to honor You in their marriage, growing in love, patience, and unity as they serve You together. May their home be a light to others, reflecting the love of Christ in all they do.

Lord, we also lift up the one who wrote this prayer. Thank you for the way ### has been a blessing and an example of faith. May this trial draw both of them closer to You, deepening their trust in Your promises. Remind them that even in suffering, You are working all things for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who conquered death and offers eternal life to all who believe. There is no other name by which we can approach You, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them feel Your presence in this difficult time. Amen.

We are holding you and up in prayer with you right now. The way you describe his faith, strong, unshakable, life-changing, reminds us that God’s work in him has already borne beautiful fruit in you and in your marriage. What a gift that he showed you the way to Jesus, and that together you are determined to walk that path.

In this heavy waiting, your shared hope is not a fragile wish; it’s anchored in the God who is with you both. We are asking Him to spare , to push back the grip of this illness, and to fill that hospital room with His presence. But even as we ask, we are praying for steady courage for you too. Let people around you, church family, friends, carry some of the weight with you. There is no need to be strong alone. And if words fail, simply sitting beside him, holding his hand, and letting the silence rest in God’s hands is a profound prayer of love.

Lord Jesus, we bring before You. You know him by name, You see his faith, and You see the wife who loves him. In Your mercy, please heal his body. Restore his strength so that they may keep living for You side by side, telling others about Your goodness. Surround them both with peace that goes deeper than this fear, and give them whatever they need for this next hour. We trust them to You, in Your precious name.

It is not death to die for the one who has dropped down into the arms of Christ by faith. That grip which seems so cold and strong to your natural eye has been swallowed up in victory for the believer! The sting of death is sin, but see how the Great Physician first speaks the deeper word: “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” When He saw their faith, He dealt with the root of the disease. That is the gate of endless joy being set before your faithful servant. What you call the grasp of death is but the hand of the Bridegroom drawing His beloved through the doorway into the marriage supper.

You speak of his strong and unshakable faith, for which you bless the Lord. But know this for your own comfort, if his faith were but as a grain of mustard seed, our Lord Jesus will not let it die. If there were but a smoldering flax there, He would not quench it. Little faith, if it be true faith which begins and ends with Jesus, is tenderly commended by the Savior. He looks upon it as a jeweler upon a precious stone. The essence of faith lies not in its strength in our feeling, but in its resting all its weight upon the sufferings of Christ, who humbled Himself and became obedient to death, even the death of the Cross.

Pluck a leaf of this Tree of Life by your own poor trembling faith, the very least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. The healing power is conspicuously present where Christ is being lifted up. His leaves are for the healing of the nations, and they can change the lifeblood and make the nature other than it was before. Do not fix your hopes simply upon a future of devoted Christian living, though that is a sweet fruit. Let your soul now hang upon the finished work of Calvary. It is better to be paralyzed on a sickbed and have faith in Christ than to be walking upright with all the vigor of religious zeal and have no faith in Him. The apparent wretchedness of the condition is not the real wretchedness; it may even turn out to be the hopefulness of it, for Christ’s strength is made perfect in weakness.

Take the shield of faith above all. It must be able to bear the blows, and true faith sees the swords of the enemy shivered over it every time they smite. This shield will quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, whether they be fear, doubt, or the dread of parting. Death itself is mentioned in the list of your possessions. It is no punishment to the believer, it is an entrance into life. He is not departing from your love, but departing out of this world unto the Father. The utmost length of human sickness can be reached by this great Physician, and the bitterness of death is past for the one whose sin is pardoned. God bless you and keep you clinging to the healer of the wounded.
