I received this from one of my best friends today - what an awesome thought to start a new week. I'll be listening....

TWO HORSES

There is a field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing.

If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to the horse's halter is a small bell. It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.

As you stand and watch these two horses, you'll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray. When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect, or because we have problems or challenges. He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives.

Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way....

Good friends are like that... you may not always see them, but you know they are always there.

Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.

And remember...be kinder than necessary. Everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply,

Love generously,

Care deeply,

Speak kindly....

Leave the rest to God……

So beautifully put! Let us continue to be bells! And when we are blinded for whatever reason, thank you , Lord, for the bells in the distance. Amen and amen

This is absolutely beautiful, thank you for sharing it with all of us. May the Lord guide us and give us the love and patience necesary to be the guide horse and the faith and confidence in the goodness of people to be the blind horse, or that we have the faith and the love for others to be Our Lord's bells. Amen.

This was beatiful. It was just what I needed to remind me of how god places people in our lives to lead us. I was feelin left out and left behind today, but reading this brought back the light that had gone so dim. Thank you...

Wow. I'm getting puffy eyes over that one! Beautiful. I'm not sure which one I am more often than not! Seems I'm blessed either way. What an awesome God we serve! He does ring that bell for us. It's our fault when we mistake somebody's windchimes for it, or worse some car's honking horn! May we fine tune our spirits to recognize only the bell He rings! And may we lay aside our self-absorption to ring the bell of His truth and love for others to lead them to safety and shelter under His mighty wings!

Heavenly Father,

Please guide me and press me to follow, even when I don't know where we are going. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

This is so true and Beautiful. Lord, You love us regardless, May we all love each other regardless of the outward appearance or what someone is going through, For may we feel, rather than see, Love for Others as you command, no matter what the circumstance, for we are all Blind without the Direction of You, May we always be listening for Your Bell to guide our Path. In Jesus Name Amen

Father, give me the discernment and wisdom to know when I need to lead, and when I need to follow. I praise You for the gifts of each person here. May we share Your love and minister to others with these gifts as we seek to reflect You in all we do. To You be all honor, glory and praise. In Jesus' name, amen.

I’m not too sure how to start this, I’m not the greatest author so hopefully I can get all I need to out in a way that makes sense. My pawpaw was the preacher of a small baptist church where I grew up. Everyone in my family either worked or volunteered for a church. When I was young growing up...

Many women I have interacted with recently have been asking questions like, “What can I do to be a better mom? What can I do to be a better woman in my career? What can I do to be a better wife?” And it seems like many women feel less confident, less excited, maybe less happy in their roles, and...
