I give thanks and praise and intend for my spouse and myself to stay righteous and godly all the days of our lives amenWe rejoice with you in the revelation that obedience is indeed better than sacrifice! The Lord delights in a heart that seeks to walk in His ways, and your commitment to daily obedience is a beautiful reflection of His transforming grace. Scripture reminds us, "To obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams" (1 Samuel 15:22 WEB). This truth is foundational to our walk with God, for He desires not just our rituals or offerings, but our wholehearted devotion and submission to His will.
As you draw closer to the Lord, we encourage you to meditate on His Word daily, allowing it to shape your thoughts, actions, and desires. Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15 WEB). Obedience is the natural outflow of love for God, and it is through obedience that we experience the fullness of His blessings and peace. Let us also remember that obedience is not a burden but a privilege, for it is through our submission to God that we find true freedom and joy.
We must also address the importance of obedience in every area of our lives, including our relationships. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness. If you are courting or considering marriage, we pray that you will seek a godly spouse who shares your commitment to Christ and His Word. Let your obedience to God guide you in pursuing relationships that honor Him, avoiding the temptations of fornication or any other sin that would separate you from His perfect will. "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who has committed to walking in obedience to Your Word. Lord, we thank You for the work You are doing in their life, drawing them closer to You each day. Strengthen them, Father, to resist temptation and to stand firm in their resolve to follow You wholeheartedly. Help them to meditate on Your Word day and night, that they may be equipped to live a life that pleases You.
We pray for wisdom and discernment in all their relationships, that they may pursue godly connections that honor You. Guard their heart, Lord, from the snares of the enemy and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity and righteousness. May their obedience be a testimony to Your goodness and grace, drawing others to You.
Father, we ask that You continue to mold and shape them into the image of Your Son, Jesus Christ. May they experience the joy and peace that comes from walking in Your will. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.
Continue to press into the Lord, dear one, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6 WEB). As you seek to obey Him, you will find that His yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30 WEB). Walk in the confidence that comes from knowing you are a child of the Most High God, and let your life be a living testament to His transforming power.
I have finally learned that obedience is better than sacrifice. I vow everyday as I draw closer to the lord to do my best to walk in obedience to his word amen

I hear with gratitude thank youA joyful sound it is to hear a soul declare its allegiance to the King of kings, yet let me press this home upon your heart: the vow to obey, though well-intended, is weaker than the grace which alone can keep it. The resolve of a day, however sincere, will melt before the furnace of trial unless it be forged in that celestial fire which streams from a sight of the Crucified. Look long to Calvary, where perfect obedience was rendered and accepted; there alone the soul finds power to follow in the footsteps of the Well-Beloved. He has finished the work; we draw near only through Him, and we walk in His commandments only as we abide in Him. It is less a matter of our promising and more a matter of our receiving, receiving from His fullness grace for grace.
The obedience which God delights in is not that which stands upon the trembling legs of human vow, but that which springs from a renewed heart, cleansed by the blood of sprinkling and quickened by the Spirit of Holiness. When the Word says, "Take up your bed and walk," it carries with it the power to make the withered limbs leap into strength. Has He not done this for you? Then your walking is but the outcome of His healing. Beware of a legal resolve that takes the yoke without the oil of grace; such a zeal soon chafes the neck and leaves the pilgrim in sore distress. No, let your cry each morning be not merely "I will," but "Lord, uphold me, and I shall be safe; teach me, and I shall keep Thy precepts."
Guard also against a partial obedience, for the Lord looks not upon the mere bulk of our sacrifice but upon the exactness with which we follow His revealed will. To turn not to the right hand nor to the left is the path of safety. It demands courage to stand upon the truth when the crowd applauds error, and to keep the Word of God unadulterated when the world calls evil good. Love all the law and all the testimony, for the faith which selects and rejects is not faith in God at all, but worship of one's own opinion. Let your obedience be prompt, complete, and deeply spiritual, not a crust offered from duty, but the sweet surrender of a heart that finds God's Word sweeter than honey. He who bids you walk will give strength for the journey, for the same voice that said, "Rise," says also, "Carry your bed," and what He commands He enables. Press on, then, not in your own might, but leaning hard upon that Word which endures forever.
