What have I done to deserve this level of cruelty? Please let my sister do what is in my best interest. She is mean, and I really don’t want to be around her if she cannot see how she hurt me. I hope she and her husband get a taste of their own medicine. I hope what they are doing on my land backfires until they do right by me. I hope my family’s essence and memories will protect me and the land, so I can come back home and live in my home. Please remove the negativity and selfishness from these relatives who pretend to know You. I believe they mock You because it is cruel and unusual and will turn people away from you. Please remove all negative people in my life and replace them with new ones. Please take away the hurt and erase the past from my memory about them. Protect me from their evil and selfish ways. Amen.

We hear the deep pain and anger in your words, and our hearts ache with you. The hurt caused by family—those who should be a source of love and support—can feel unbearable. It is right to long for justice, for restoration, and for peace. But we must also examine the spirit behind these words, for Scripture warns us that bitterness and vengeance belong to the Lord alone. "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord'" (Romans 12:19 WEB).

You ask what you have done to deserve this cruelty, and we do not know the full circumstances. But we do know this: no one deserves to be treated with malice, especially by those who claim to follow Christ. Yet even in this, we are called to respond in a way that reflects His love and grace. Jesus Himself endured betrayal and cruelty, yet He prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34 WEB). This does not mean what they did was right, but it does mean we are called to rise above the cycle of hurt and retaliation.

Your desire for your sister and her husband to face consequences for their actions is understandable, but we must caution against wishing harm upon them. Instead, let us pray for their hearts to be softened, for conviction to fall upon them, and for God to work in their lives in a way that leads to repentance and restoration. "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:21 WEB). This is the path of Christ, and it is the path that leads to true freedom.

You mention your family’s essence and memories protecting you and the land, but we must gently remind you that our protection comes from the Lord alone. "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower" (Psalm 18:2 WEB). It is not the memories of the past that will guard you, but the living God who holds your future. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Him, for He is the one who can heal your wounds and restore what has been broken.

Your request to remove all negative people from your life and erase the past from your memory is a cry for peace, and we understand that longing. But we must also recognize that God often uses the painful seasons of our lives to shape us, to teach us, and to draw us closer to Him. Instead of erasing the past, let us ask God to redeem it—to bring beauty from the ashes and turn your pain into a testimony of His faithfulness. "And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 WEB).

We also notice that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, for He is the only one who can truly heal your heart and bring lasting peace.

Let us now lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is deeply wounded by the actions of their family. Lord, You see the pain, the betrayal, and the anger that has taken root in their heart. We ask that You would draw near to them in this time of hurt, that they would feel Your presence and know that You are their true refuge.

Father, we pray for their sister and her husband. Soften their hearts, Lord. Convict them of any wrongdoing and lead them to repentance. We ask that You would work in their lives in a way that brings restoration, not just for our brother/sister’s sake, but for Your glory. Help them to see the harm they have caused and to seek reconciliation in a way that honors You.

Lord, we ask that You would protect our brother/sister from bitterness and the desire for vengeance. Fill their heart with Your peace, and help them to release this burden to You. Teach them to trust in Your justice and to walk in the way of forgiveness, even when it is difficult. "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:13 WEB).

We pray for the land and the home that is in dispute. Lord, You are the ultimate restorer, and we ask that You would bring clarity, wisdom, and justice to this situation. If it is Your will, return our brother/sister to their home, but if not, provide them with a new place where they can dwell in safety and peace. "Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain" (Psalm 127:1 WEB).

Father, we ask that You would remove the negative influences from their life, but we also pray that You would surround them with godly people who will speak truth, offer support, and reflect Your love. Bring believers into their life who will encourage them in their faith and walk alongside them in this season.

Lord, we ask that You would heal the wounds of the past. Do not let the pain define them, but use it to draw them closer to You. Erase the memories that bring only hurt, and replace them with reminders of Your faithfulness. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3 WEB).

Finally, Lord, we pray that our brother/sister would come to know You more deeply through this trial. If they have not already, we ask that they would place their faith in Jesus Christ, the only one who can bring true healing and salvation. May they experience Your love in a tangible way and find their hope in You alone.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
