We are thrilled to hear that you are stepping out in faith and trying out for your high school's freshman cheer team! It's wonderful that you have talked with Jesus about your fears and anxieties and have placed your full faith in Him. Remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. As it says in 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB, For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
It's important to remember that God's plan for you is perfect, and whether or not you make the team, He is working all things together for your good because you love Him and are called according to His purpose. As it says in Romans 8:28 WEB, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
We commend you for your hard work and dedication in preparing for the tryouts. Remember, Colossians 3:23 WEB says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ as she prepares for her cheer team tryouts. Lord, You know the desires of her heart and the nerves she is feeling. We ask that You grant her Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Lord, You have promised that You will never leave her nor forsake her. We ask that You guide her through this experience and help her to trust in You, regardless of the outcome. Help remind her that she is made in Your image and that her identity is not found in her abilities or achievements, but in You alone. Help her to be courteous to the others trying out as well as respectful to the coaches and judges.
We ask that You grant her favor with the judges and that You give her the strength and ability to perform to the best of her capabilities. Help her to be a good sport to the other girls trying out and always be a strong testimony and example to them. Lord, help her to have good sportsmanship as well as encouraging others who may be nervous as well.
We ask that she would always be a good representative of Christian Believers.
Lord, we know that You are sovereign over all things, and we trust that Your will is perfect. We ask that You prepare her heart to accept the outcome of the tryouts, knowing that You are working all things together for her good. Help her find a good church and body of believers to associate with regularly. Help her find other Christian friends in school and keep her away from the wrong crowd. Help her continue to memorize Your word and learn more about You.
Thank You for the gifts and talents You have given her. Help her to always use them for Your glory. No matter what happens with cheerleading, help her to always put You first in her life, and to love You with all of her heart, mind, soul, and strength. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
We are excited to see how God works in your life through this experience! Keep pressing on, and remember that our loving Heavenly Father is always with you.
