not comfortable

We hear your concern and want to lift this situation before the Lord with you. It’s important to feel safe and at peace in your workplace, and we believe God cares deeply about your well-being. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

First, we want to encourage you to bring this discomfort to the Lord in prayer daily. Ask Him for wisdom, discernment, and protection. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." God sees your heart and knows the details of this situation, He will guide you if you seek Him.

We also want to gently remind you that it is wise to set boundaries in any environment where you feel uneasy. This doesn’t mean you have to be unkind, but it does mean you can respectfully limit unnecessary interactions or conversations that make you uncomfortable. Romans 12:18 says, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." This verse encourages us to do our part to live peacefully, but it also acknowledges that sometimes we must take steps to protect our peace.

If this coworker’s behavior crosses lines into inappropriate or ungodly conduct, whether through words, actions, or attitudes, we strongly encourage you to seek counsel from a trusted supervisor, HR, or a mature believer in your church. God does not want you to endure harassment, manipulation, or anything that violates His standards for holiness and respect. Psalm 34:17-18 assures us, "The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

Let us pray for you now:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our sister/brother to You, asking for Your divine protection and peace to surround them in their workplace. Lord, You know the details of this situation, and You see the discomfort they are feeling. We ask that You would give them wisdom and discernment to navigate this with grace and strength. Guard their heart and mind, Father, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, fill them each day.

We pray against any spirit of fear or anxiety, declaring that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). If there is any ungodliness or sin in this coworker’s actions or words, we rebuke it in Jesus’ name and ask that You would convict their heart. If this situation requires action, whether setting boundaries, seeking counsel, or reporting behavior, we ask that You would make the path clear.

Lord, we also pray for this coworker. If they do not know You, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself. If they are struggling with sin or ungodly attitudes, we ask that You would soften their heart and lead them to repentance. Let Your light shine in this workplace, Father, and let Your will be done.

We thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness. We trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue praying over this situation and to seek godly counsel if needed. You are not alone, God is with you, and He will guide you. If this discomfort persists or escalates, do not hesitate to involve those in authority who can help. Your safety and peace matter to the Lord.

It makes sense that you reached out, feeling unsettled around someone you work with every day can really wear on you, and we're glad you asked us to pray.

Sometimes a vague sense of unease is actually wisdom, alerting us to pay attention and set healthy boundaries even before we fully understand why. You don't need a dramatic reason to honor that. It's okay to keep conversations professional and brief, to step back from after-hours socializing, and to trust that protecting your peace is not unkind.

At the same time, we want to handle that discomfort carefully so it doesn't harden into something we carry around all day. If it keeps nagging, you might ask a trusted friend, someone who knows you both, to pray with you more specifically about the dynamics you are experiencing. Sometimes just saying the hard thing out loud to one safe person loosens its grip.

Here is our prayer for you:

Lord Jesus, you see this coworker relationship and the heavy feeling our friend carries into work each day. Grant clear discernment, help them know what boundaries to draw and what fears to release. Guard their mind from anxiety and their words from anything that would damage their witness. Surround them with your steady presence, and whether the discomfort lifts or remains, give them strength to walk through each day with integrity and quiet confidence. We pray in Jesus' name, amen.

The turmoil within your own breast is not a thing to be nursed or indulged, it is a call to look away from the source of your disquiet. You will never find rest while your eyes are fixed upon the person who ruffles your spirit. The text stands firm: "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You." The difficulty with this coworker is permitted, yet the peace of Christ is offered to you in the very midst of it. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that peace is not dependent upon the pleasantness of those who surround you. Fix your mind upon the Lord, not upon the uncomfortable circumstance, and you shall prove that He can keep you in peace even when earthly comfort is entirely absent.

Do not be like the birds, ever on the wing, unsettled and flitting about in perpetual anxiety. That very anxiety which arises from your difficulty unfits you to meet it. You are summoned to a different posture entirely. The first step toward spiritual health is to recognize the presence of Jesus and to come into right relationship with Him. Come and lie at His feet, and cry to Him that you will not depart until He speaks peace to your soul. It is at His feet that the weeping penitent finds an answer of peace. Do not stand and gaze with a rebellious heart upon the one who disquiets you; rather, bow low before your Master and let His word rule your inner man. It is the mind, the inward workshop, which brings you daylight or midnight, peace or war.

Consider this: you are called not to a life of comfortable ease, but to walk in obedience to Christ's word. When He bids you to go into the workplace again, to meet that same soul, and to conduct yourself with grace, you must reply from the heart, "Nevertheless at Your word I will do it." It may seem as difficult and as fruitless as letting down the net after a night of empty toil, yet at His bidding, work on with a quiet mind and look to Him for the blessing. Let nothing disturb your resolve to be at your post, doing your duty, not unto men, but unto the Lord. Your peace is not a fragile thing that men can shatter; it is a strong, divine blessing which the Lord gives to His people. May He vanquish your fears and grant you, even now, to look beyond earth's little struggles toward the unbroken, perfect peace of Heaven.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The soul stretched tight by fasting catches the Spirit's energy and throws off every care. When a coworker stirs discomfort within you, let it be an occasion for that blessed tension. Do not fix your gaze on the person, but on the warfare within. For the third and worst kind of war is when the body rises against the soul with irritation and dread. Turn then to prayer with great intentness, stretching forth your mind toward heaven, and add fasting as your ally. It stills the tumults within, clears the eyes of the soul, and makes the heart steadfast. Peace is not found in the absence of trials, but in victory over the passions. Let your fasting and prayer become the rock on which these petty discomforts break and fall away, so that you may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Your request touches on something so many carry quietly, and I am grateful you shared it. I am praying for you now and will continue to lift you up.

When we face that knot of unease around someone, our instinct is to ask God simply to take it away or change the other person. Yet prayer is meant to align us with a deeper purpose. Through prayer, we often learn submission to God's will rather than seeing our own will accomplished. The heart of prayer is not to persuade a reluctant God to do things our way, but to invite His will into our daily circumstances, even the strained interactions at work. That means the discomfort you feel is not outside His notice; He can use it to shape something in you, to bring you to a place of dependence you might never find otherwise.

In dark and difficult hours, the Lord shows Himself as the God of all comfort. He stands by us, not always to remove the trial, but to strengthen and encourage us right in the middle of it. That comfort is not just for your relief, it becomes something you can offer to others later. The unease you feel today might one day equip you to walk alongside someone else in a similar struggle, with genuine compassion that comes from having been there yourself.

One of the great gifts God wants to give you in this is peace. The peace Christ gives is not a fragile truce that depends on people getting along, but a deep, unshakable calm rooted in knowing God is in control. When your mind runs over the conversations and the tension, drop anchor into that peace. It passes all human understanding, and to a world full of turmoil it is a startling witness. As you pray, ask not only for the situation to improve but for your own heart to be so filled with that peace that it redefines how you see your coworker and how you react.

The purpose of prayer is never simply to get our wishes granted. Too often we treat prayer like a tool to make deals with God: “Solve this, and I’ll do that.” But the real transaction of prayer is that God changes us. He wants you to know, “Thy will be done,” in your workplace as surely as in heaven. Sometimes He allows a period of waiting, a test of your faith, so that patience can have its perfect work. The distance between your prayer and the answer is not God ignoring you; it is the soil where trust grows. Do not lose heart if relief does not come at once.

At the same time, do not think for a moment that your discomfort is too small or too tangled for God. With Him, there are no categories of “easy” or “hard.” The One who calmed the storm and raised the dead can bring harmony into a tense office relationship just as readily as any grand miracle. So pray with confidence, and let your prayers end with praise, not because the trouble is gone, but because you trust the God who hears and will act in His perfect way.

Make it your practice to flee to Him as a strong habitation, a place of refuge you can continually resort to when the anxiety rises. Whenever you feel that internal churning, stop and lift a quiet prayer, no need for eloquent words, just your heart reaching out to the Father. He is your peace, and as you lean into that, you may find you become an instrument of the very peace you long for. Sow peace with your words and your demeanor, as far as it depends on you, and trust God to bring forth the fruit of righteousness in His time.

I am asking the Lord to wrap you in His comfort, to guard your mind with that surpassing peace, and to turn this place of unease into a testimony of His faithfulness. Keep bringing it before Him, and let Him teach you what prayer alone can teach: that His grace is sufficient and that His will, whatever it holds, is good.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer over the discomfort you’ve been feeling with your coworker. It’s not easy carrying that kind of unease, and we are so grateful you trusted us to lift it before the Lord. We’ve been praying that God would grant you peace in the midst of this situation—whether that comes through a change in your coworker’s behavior, a shift in your own heart, or wisdom to navigate the relationship in a way that honors Him.

If God has already answered this prayer in some way—perhaps by giving you clarity, courage, or even unexpected grace—we would love to hear about it so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the discomfort remains or the situation feels unresolved, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to continue standing with you, interceding for wisdom, protection, and God’s perfect will to be done.

May the Lord draw near to you in this time, filling you with His peace that surpasses all understanding. May He guide your steps, guard your heart, and remind you that you are never alone. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
