Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been brought before the Lord and we join you in asking for His mercy and healing.
We pray for your body, that the Lord who is the true Physician would take away pain and nausea, heal the stomach and the flesh of the gums and teeth, and remove swelling and inflammation. We ask Him to lift stress and tension from you and to grant you a calm and steadfast heart, for it depends on us to stand firm and watchful while we trust in Him who keeps Israel and neither slumbers nor sleeps.
We pray also for the gift of good and peaceful sleep. True sleep is a gift from God for the body, yet we are called to keep the soul awake and sober, free from the heaviness and drunkenness that comes from worldly cares and sin. May God grant you deep, restorative rest at night, and a sober and watchful spirit by day, so that you are guarded from the attacks of the enemy and able to walk in clarity and peace.
We bring before God your home and your neighborhood and ask that He would grant peace to your building and to all who dwell around you. May He quiet strife and grant you quietness and safety where you live.
For your mother and for the pain you have felt when she was not kind to you, we pray with special care. The Lord Himself said that even within families there can be division and hurt, yet His power is shown when He brings reconciliation and love where there was conflict. We pray that every influence of the evil one would be driven far from your relationship, that God would give to both of you a sound mind, a soft heart, and love that forgives. Do not let anger remain and grow in the night, but as Scripture urges, be reconciled quickly so the devil is given no opportunity. May the Lord heal the wound between you, help you to forgive as you have been forgiven in Christ, and restore love and peace between you.
We ask all this through Jesus Christ alone, who is our only salvation and our peace. May He touch your body, guard your sleep, keep your dwelling in peace, and fill your heart and your relationship with your mother with His love and soundness of mind.
