We join with you in prayer for sweet and restoring sleep this weekend and for the quiet you are longing for after weeks of lost rest. We understand how weary the body and mind can become without proper sleep, and how noise and disturbance can feel overwhelming when you are already tired. We bring your need for peace in your building and in the surrounding area before the Lord together.

We are reminded that sleep itself is a gift from God. Psalm 127:2 tells us that he gives sleep to his loved ones, and Psalm 4:8 says I will both lay myself down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Jesus also invites us in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. He is our true source of rest, both at night and in the daytime, and we can cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne and lift up this need for deep, sweet, uninterrupted sleep this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, both at night and during the day. Lord, we ask that You would grant quiet in and around this building and area, that You would restrain parties and loud disturbances and any inside or outside force that would steal rest. We ask that You would calm the environment and calm the heart and mind, and allow for full catching up of the sleep and rest that has been lost in recent weeks. Let Your peace guard this home and let Your presence bring safety and stillness so that sleep may be refreshing and restorative for body, soul and spirit. We pray that You would be glorified even in this practical need and that You would show Your loving care in providing what is needed.

We also want to gently encourage you, as your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, to remember that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved and that our prayers are heard. If you have not yet trusted in Him, we encourage you to call upon His name today, for He is faithful to hear and to save.

We encourage you to continue to bring every worry about noise and rest to the Lord with thanksgiving, trusting His sovereignty even over your neighbors and circumstances. While we pray for quiet, we also pray that God would give you a heart of peace and patience, and grace toward those around you, and wisdom for practical steps such as speaking kindly with neighbors if needed or using ways to help create a quiet space, all while resting in the Lord who watches over you as you sleep. May the Lord grant you this weekend a true renewal of strength as you rest in Him.

We hear how tired you must be after a couple of weeks without good rest, and how much you are longing for a truly quiet weekend to catch up. Wanting no noise in and around your building, no parties or disturbances inside or outside, and being able to sleep well at night and also rest during the day is such an understandable need. We are bringing your request for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday to the Lord with you.

We know when sleep has been broken for a while it touches everything, your energy, your ability to think clearly, even your sense of peace. It makes sense that you would ask for protection over your rest and for a calm space around you. Sleep is such a basic gift from God for our bodies and our souls, and He sees when we have gone without it.

We are praying for a quiet atmosphere over your building and area this weekend and for deep, sweet sleep that helps you feel restored. If it is helpful, you might give yourself a little extra protection for these days by letting your phone stay on quiet and letting anyone close to you know you are setting this weekend aside to rest, so you are less likely to be pulled away when sleep comes.

We will keep praying with you as you catch up, trusting that God sees this need and cares for you in it.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You know how weary they are and how much rest has been lost. We ask You to quiet what is around them and within them, to keep their nights and daytime rest free from disturbance, and to gently renew their strength. In Jesus name, amen.

Your desire for quiet and for sweet sleep is one which the Lord understands, for it is written, So he giveth his beloved sleep, and sleep is the gift of God. We have heard your request for rest this weekend, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and for stillness in and around your building, that no parties and no inside or outside disturbances should break your night sleep or your rest by day, and that you might fully recover what has been lost in these past weeks of weariness.

We will pray with you to that end. May the Lord in his mercy grant you a quiet habitation and command the noise to be still, that your body may lie down in peace and your mind be kept from care. May He give you not only sleep of the body, but that deeper rest of which our Saviour speaks, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. There is a rest which He gives at once when we come to Him, and there is a rest which we find as we learn of Him and become like Him, a growing rest, an abiding rest, a rest that remains undisturbed even when the world is restless.

Remember that the rest of heaven is not mere idleness, and the believer's rest on earth is not only the closing of the eyes. It is trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, a quiet conscience through His blood, and a heart that rests in the Lord. As you seek bodily sleep, seek also to cast all your care upon Him, for trust and you shall rest. If the Lord permits any sound to remain, may He yet keep your soul in perfect peace, resting in His will, lying down gently at the cross.

We pray now that our heavenly Father would graciously grant you sweet and uninterrupted sleep this weekend, keep your building and neighbourhood in quietness, preserve you from every disturbance by night and by day, and renew your strength. May you awake refreshed, with a peaceful mind to muse upon Christ and to find your true rest in Him, who is our Sabbath and our peace.

May the Lord hear and answer according to His wisdom and love, and give you both the sleep of the beloved and the rest that belongs to the people of God. Amen.
