No man knows the day or hour

There are 2 areas that I see Christians take "guesses" at, but based on that they've been wrong every time, and that the Bible even states that one of them is strictly Gods knowledge, shows me that they're relying on human wisdom rather than the Spirit. One, every time a political figure with some ungodly traits is in power, they say they've added up numbers that come to 666.proving that they're the Antichrist. There was a long list, but some have passed away, others are no longer in power, and none of them were from the area where the Bible states the Antichrist will come to power. But even I fell into this a little, with the impending death of Charles Manson,I had a creepy thought that he would die, then come back to life, and become the Antichrist. But then my common sense took over, and I realized the Antichrist wouldn't come from America, and how could he wield power over everyone while serving a life sentence in prison.?So I came to my senses. Also, most Christians believe the church will be raptured pre-tribulation, so trying to figure out who he is, is not really an important part of the salvation program.Second thing, those "date setting"when the end will come.Jesus said,"Concerning that day, NOONE knows the day or the hour, neither the angels in Heaven or the Son,but only the Father."Some Christians say it's a good thing, because they make people aware of prophetic things. But I have 2 counterpoints, 1, if they're always wrong, it has an opposite effect, the world becomes cynical, and 2, if Jesus said only the Father knows, if they say they also know, isn't that saying they know as much as God,and disagreeing with what Jesus said?Either Jesus was correct, or they are.Based on that they were wrong every time, Jesus was.I think the problem is, they're trying to figure out Gods plans with HUMAN wisdom.Right?

Sometimes we are much better off not thinking or worrying about certain things and I believe this is a very good example of something not to think about or trouble ourselves with friend.

Why trouble ourselves with something Jesus said only the Father knows? We just need to make sure we are right with Him now, don't we?

Exactly! The time they're spending focusing on those things, it's taking away from more important things in our agenda.
