Recently, a relative died.Another one who is ailing, while everyone was wondering about her, this one out of left field dies!!And it reminded me that,in many cases, if we see an old lady, like 95 years old,and some guy in his 50s, we might "assume" that the old lady will go first,BUT in more than a few cases, I've heard the news that the 50 something guy had a heart attack and died, but the 95 year old lives on!!So it showed me, we can't in our human wisdom figure out what is going to happen. God knows in advance the date of which ones passing;we do not. What we know is what IS revealed, the verses in Revelation which I think of when dealing with the news of a loved ones passing,or seeing the grief of another at the passing of a loved one__"And death shall be no more, neither will there be mourning nor pain. For the former things have passed away."Also, if the Rapture comes first--"Behold, I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.The dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.".Beyond that, knowing the date of departure, and "assuming" that a 55 year old will outlive a 95 year old--that knowledge is in Gods domain.
