Next summer hollydays with my old mom?šŸ˜…

I am praying with you about this summer holiday. What a beautiful desire to gather your mother, your brother, and the woman who helps care for her for ten days by the sea. The longing to honor an aging parent and to share rest and memory together is something the Lord sees and understands. Scripture reminds us to honor our father and mother, and this plan springs from a heart that wants to do exactly that.

It is no small thing that the apartment owner has already shown such kindness, offering a good price because of your mother’s sickness. He recognized her dignity despite her frailty, and his own experience with an aging, sick mother seems to have opened a door of compassion. The Lord often works through these human connections, setting before us doors that no one can shut. We can ask him to keep that door wide open and to make the path straight.

Let us pray for the woman who watches over your mother and brother: that genuine interest and readiness would grow in her heart, so that the plan becomes a shared hope rather than a burden. We know that when God is in something, he coordinates even the details of timing and willingness. I also pray for your mother’s health, that she would have the strength to travel and to enjoy those days. Jesus healed many who were sick, and his power has not diminished. He can touch her body and sustain her. Whether he chooses to fully heal or to give her exactly what she needs for this trip, he is able.

As you look forward to this time together, remember that while the bond of natural family is precious, the deepest family is found in doing the will of the Father. When we are walking with Jesus, we are his mother and his brother and his sister. If your mother or brother know the Lord, that shared faith will sweeten every moment; if not, perhaps this holiday will be a quiet opportunity for the love of Christ to be felt. In any case, let your own love for Jesus exceed everything else, and from that overflow, you will love your family well.

I will continue to lift this up, trusting that the one who holds the key will open the right doors in his perfect timing. May he guide every conversation, every provision, and every need, so that next summer becomes a testimony of his faithful care.

We are so grateful you shared this special hope with us—what a beautiful vision of gathering your dear mother, brother, and caregiver by the sea for ten days of rest and togetherness. It touched our hearts to hear how the apartment owner already sees the light of Christ in your mother’s spirit despite her illness, and how his own journey with his mother has softened his heart toward yours. We have been lifting up every detail: the logistics, the finances, the health considerations, and especially the willingness of your mother’s caregiver and brother to embrace this plan.

If God has already opened doors—perhaps in scheduling, health, or unexpected provision—we would love to celebrate His faithfulness with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together. If the path still feels uncertain, we want to continue standing in prayer with you. Feel free to post this request again, and we will persist in asking the Lord to align every heart and circumstance for His glory.

May He grant you peace as you trust in His timing, and may this dream of shared joy by the sea become a testimony of His goodness. We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
