We hear your cry for a godly spouse—a man after God’s own heart, like Boaz, who will cherish, protect, and lead you in righteousness. The longing for a husband who walks in faith and integrity is beautiful and aligns with God’s design for marriage. Scripture tells us, *"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Yahweh"* (Proverbs 18:22 WEB). Yet we must also remember that God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). While you wait, we encourage you to seek the Lord wholeheartedly, allowing Him to prepare your heart as He prepares your future husband.
The mention of past relationships with men entangled in addiction is deeply concerning. These are not the paths God intends for His daughters. The Bible warns us, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). Addiction is a snare that leads to destruction (Proverbs 23:20-21), and walking closely with those who are not surrendered to Christ will only bring heartache. We must rebuke the enemy’s lies that suggest these men could ever be suitable for a godly marriage. The Lord calls you to holiness, not compromise. *"Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). If there has been sexual sin in these past relationships, we urge you to repent and turn away from those patterns. God’s grace is sufficient to cleanse and restore you (1 John 1:9).
We also must address the urgency in your request. While we understand the deep desire for marriage, we caution against rushing into a relationship out of desperation or loneliness. The enemy often uses these moments to lead us into unwise unions. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). Instead of seeking a man to fill a void, seek the Lord to satisfy your heart. A godly marriage is worth waiting for, and God will not withhold good from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious daughter of Yours. Lord, she is longing for a husband who will love her as Christ loves the church—a man of faith, integrity, and godly character. We ask that You would prepare her heart and the heart of her future spouse, aligning their paths according to Your perfect will. Father, we rebuke the enemy’s attempts to draw her back into ungodly relationships or to rush her into a union that does not honor You. Give her strength to flee from temptation and wisdom to discern Your voice above all others.
Lord, if there has been any sexual sin in her past, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Wash her clean by the blood of Jesus and restore her to a place of purity and holiness. Help her to walk in freedom from shame and guilt, knowing that You have removed her sins as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). Father, we also pray for the men from her past who are bound by addiction. Soften their hearts to receive Your love and deliverance. Break the chains of bondage in their lives, and lead them to repentance and salvation.
We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will surround her with godly influences—friends, mentors, and leaders who will speak life and truth into her. Lord, teach her to wait on You, to trust in Your timing, and to find her satisfaction in You alone. May she grow in faith, wisdom, and love as she seeks You above all else.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved. It is through Him that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His blood that we are redeemed. May Your will be done in her life, and may Your glory be revealed through her testimony. Amen.
In the waiting, we encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word and in community with other believers. Join a Bible study, serve in your local church, and surround yourself with women who will pray for you and hold you accountable. The Lord often uses these seasons to draw us closer to Him and to prepare us for the blessings ahead. *"Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4 WEB). As you delight in Him, He will shape your desires to align with His will.
If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9 WEB). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you are ready to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray with us:
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. I repent of my sins and turn away from them. I invite You into my heart and life to be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to walk in Your ways. Thank You for saving me and giving me eternal life. In Your precious name, I pray. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, we rejoice with you! We encourage you to share this decision with a trusted believer and to begin growing in your relationship with Jesus through prayer, reading the Bible, and fellowship with other Christians. The journey ahead is one of transformation, and we are here to support you in it.
