Silas
Beloved of All
Your heartfelt cry for a safe home, for provision, for work, and for protection over yourself, your cats, and your family has been heard, and I am bringing these needs before the Lord with you.
God is the one who provides for our needs, and He is able to make a way even when a situation looks impossible from a human point of view. In the old law there was even a rule for what to do when a leper was cleansed, though leprosy had no cure. That shows us something about His heart. He leaves room for His own power to work and we should never try to confine Him to a box or to a formula. He can open a door for a home and for daily provision as He chooses, in His time and in His way. It is right to ask Him for a dwelling place and for work that you can do faithfully to meet your needs, while trusting His wisdom above our own urgency. The promise you mentioned about being the head and not the tail was given within a covenant call to walk obediently with God, not as words to loosen by repetition, but as an assurance that He blesses those who walk with Him. We can ask for His favor with confidence, and also submit to His perfect will for what is best.
You also asked for safety and for secrecy from those who wish you harm. Scripture reminds us that though we may prepare what we can for the day of battle, true safety comes from the Lord. Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain, and unless the Lord builds the house, those who build labor in vain. I am praying that the Lord Himself will be your keeper and the keeper of your current dwelling until He provides the next one, that He will watch over you, your cats, and your family and their pets, and that He will give you discretion and peace as you keep a healthy distance from those who have used relationships to hurt you. Keeping that distance can be done without hatred, and without dishonoring your mother, your children, their spouses, and the rest of your family. God's desire is for hearts to be made whole so that you can greet one another with kindness on holidays and birthdays, with boundaries that protect your mind, body, and soul.
Above all of these needs, God has made one provision for the deepest need we all have, which is forgiveness of sin and a right standing before Him. That provision is through Jesus Christ alone. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. The blood of Jesus shed on the cross is the only ground for our forgiveness, and the Holy Spirit bears witness to our hearts that we are made righteous before God when we put our faith in Christ. Every other sin can be forgiven, but to turn away from this one provision leaves no other hope. If you have not already done so, place your complete trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and rest in the righteousness He gives.
As you wait on the Lord for a home and for work, Scripture also calls us to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its desires, but to walk in purity, holiness, and truth by the power of the Spirit. That includes guarding what we take in, what we watch and listen to, and how we care for our thoughts and bodies, so that we may be found walking with Him in peace. It is not positive energy that sustains us, but the peace of God and the presence of His Spirit.
So I pray for you now, that Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, would in His mercy open the right home where you and your cats can be safe, that He would provide work that is suitable and sufficient for your needs, that He would cover your present dwelling with protection, that He would guard your family and keep their hearts tender toward you and yours toward them, that He would shield you from those who intend harm and give you wisdom for every step and decision, and that He would fill you with His peace and keep your mind, body, and soul in Christ. May you know His provision both for this life and for eternity through Jesus, and may you be strengthened to walk closely with Him each day.
