Good and Faithful Servant
Father, in Your Kindness, Lead My ###, Me, Our Families to Repentance, "the kindness of God is intended to lead us to repentance," Paul, Rom 2:4... You will none perish but all come to repentance, Peter, 2 Pet 3:9... Let us be merciful, that we may receive mercy, Matt 5:7... I ask for grace to add fasting, which the early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to prayer," (Tertullian, 155AD - 240AD). Her ### believes (says she "knows" she'll come back), but I am in prayer, Ps 109:4. The pastors have been calling her -- as of yet, she hasn't responded. They are willing to meet tomorrow, and I requested she return before group... It's better to take refuge in God, than hope in princes, Ps 118:9. In God -- God whose Word I praise, Ps 56:4.. If king's hearts are as channels of water, how much more my ###'s? Prov 21:1.

Heavenly Father, I ask You give my ### and children love for Jesus and understanding of Your will through His Words, "The entirety of Your word is truth, and all Your righteous judgments endure forever," Ps 119:160. I ask that "from infancy we would know the Holy Scriptures, which make us wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus, 2 Tim 3:15.” Help us have beginning of day and early evening devotions, listen to godly counseling sessions, watch G-rated movies, funny, clean, entertaining shows (that grow our faith and knowledge of Christ, ethics, faithfulness, honesty, faith. Soften her heart and protect her (and us) from evil, Matt 6:13. Help her (and I) use our "Bible App" and understand what it says enough to model it and model it to my ### and others. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right," 2 Tim 3:15-16. "Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one," John 17:15. "Sanctify us by the truth; Your word is truth," John 17:17. Thank you in Jesus' Name.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh, Ezek 36:26.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to our Heavenly Father, who alone can soften hardened hearts and bring true repentance. The cry for a new heart is a cry that God delights to answer, for He has promised, *"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh"* (Ezekiel 36:26). This is the very work of the Holy Spirit—transforming what is cold and resistant into what is tender and yielded to God.

We recognize the urgency in this request, for the one you pray for has walked away, believing she will return yet remaining unresponsive to the calls of pastors and the pleas of loved ones. We stand on the truth that *"the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9). Yet we also know that God’s kindness is meant to lead to repentance (Romans 2:4), and we must not mistake His patience for indifference. The time for turning back is now, before the door of mercy closes.

We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and hardness of heart that has taken root. The Word declares, *"Today if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts"* (Hebrews 3:15). There is no neutral ground—either she will surrender to Christ, or the deceitfulness of sin will further entrench her. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), breaking through every excuse and justification. We also rebuke any pride in her that says, *"I know I’ll come back,"* for such confidence in self is a snare. True repentance is not a casual return but a desperate turning to God in humility, acknowledging that apart from Christ, there is no hope.

We pray for the pastors who have reached out—may they not grow weary in well-doing, but may they persist in love, truth, and boldness. We ask that their meeting, should it occur, would be a divine appointment where the scales fall from her eyes, and she sees the gravity of her separation from God. We declare that *"the king’s heart is in the Lord’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever He wishes"* (Proverbs 21:1). If earthly leaders cannot move her, how much more can the King of kings redirect her heart?

We also lift up the children in this situation. The Word commands us to *"train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it"* (Proverbs 22:6). We pray that from infancy, they would know the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make them wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15). May their young hearts be guarded from the deception of sin and instead be filled with a love for Jesus that surpasses all other affections. We ask for daily devotions—morning and evening—where the Word is read, discussed, and lived out. Let their entertainment be pure, their counsel godly, and their laughter filled with the joy of the Lord.

We take seriously the call to fasting, for Jesus Himself said that some spiritual strongholds can only be broken through prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). We join in this discipline, denying the flesh to sharpen our spiritual focus, crying out for breakthrough. May the early church’s wisdom be our guide: *"Fasting and giving lend wings to prayer."*

Yet we must also address a matter of great concern—this prayer, while earnest, does not explicitly acknowledge the name of Jesus Christ as the only mediator between God and man. Scripture is clear: *"There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). *"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). We cannot assume salvation; we must confess Christ as Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). If the one you pray for has not surrendered to Jesus as Savior and Lord, then all other prayers for her heart’s transformation are in vain. We must pray not only for repentance but for saving faith in Christ alone.

We also exhort you, the one praying, to examine your own heart. Are you modeling the faith you desire to see in her? Are you immersing yourself in Scripture so that you can rightly divide the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15)? The Bible is not merely a tool for correction—it is the very breath of God, profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). If you are not saturating your mind and heart in it, how can you expect to model it to others?

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. We thank You for Your kindness, which leads to repentance, and we plead for the one who has strayed. Lord, break her heart of stone and give her a heart of flesh. Let her see the emptiness of life apart from You and the fullness of joy found only in Christ. We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and ask that You would turn her heart back to You as You turn the hearts of kings.

For the children, we ask that You would write Your Word upon their hearts. May they grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). Protect them from the evil one, and let their young faith be a testimony to their mother.

For the pastors, grant them wisdom, boldness, and compassion as they reach out. May their words be anointed by the Holy Spirit to pierce through every defense.

And for the one praying, Lord, strengthen their faith. Help them to fast, pray, and stand on Your promises without wavering. Let their life be a living epistle, read by all, that points others to Christ.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, for His glory and for the salvation of souls. Amen.

Dear friend, we join you in lifting up this precious soul to our Heavenly Father. We echo your cry for a new heart, knowing that only God can soften the hardest of hearts and bring true repentance. We cling to His promise in Ezekiel 36:26, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

We understand the urgency in this situation. The one you pray for has walked away, believing she will return, yet remains unresponsive to the calls of pastors and loved ones. We stand on the truth that the Lord is not slow in keeping His promises, but is patient towards us, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Yet, we also know that God's kindness is meant to lead us to repentance (Romans 2:4), and we must not mistake His patience for indifference. The time for turning back is now, before the door of mercy closes.
