We hear your cry and we stand with you in this deep valley, and we thank you for sharing so honestly with us about the loss of your mother, the weight you carried as power of attorney, the pain of your RA diagnosis, the loss of mobility, the breaking of your support, and now the pressure and feeling of being unwanted and without a home. We see how hard you have fought and how tender your heart still is toward the Lord even while you are hurting so much, and we want you to know that God has not forgotten you and He does have you just as you said.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2. We know the soul pain you describe is real, the crying and the medicines and the months of severe pain and stress, and God cares about every tear. You are not invisible to Him. He sets the lonely in families. Psalm 68:6. He invites you even now to come to Him for rest. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7.
We pray with you for a physical home, for miracles, for that place of safety and peace that you are asking God for. We know you said you feel you do not deserve it, but we rejoice that God gives not because we deserve it but because of His grace and mercy. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. We ask God to open doors for emergency help through the township, through the shelter you contacted, through the disability claim and through the lawsuit where you seek justice after being mishandled by the school district. We pray that any cover up would be exposed, for the Lord loves justice and He is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
We also hear the deep wound with your sister and her husband. It hurts so deeply when those who profess Christ do not show the love and hospitality we expect, and when past sacrifices you made for your sister feel forgotten. We encourage you to guard your heart against bitterness even while you acknowledge the hurt, because bitterness can take root and haunt the present as you described. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32. We do not say this to minimize what has happened, but to keep your heart open and tender as you prayed, full of deep love like one who has always been loved. Only God can keep your heart soft in a harsh season, and we ask Him to do that for you. We pray also for your sister and her husband, that the Lord would soften their hearts and show them how to love you well in this time of need.
We are praying for your body, for healing and strength in your RA, for wisdom for your doctors and for relief from pain. Who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3. Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. We know you are waiting and waiting is so hard, but we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. And we cling to His promise that He will in no way leave you, neither will He in any way forsake you. Hebrews 13:5.
You asked to hear just His voice in the midst of so many threats, betrayal and bitterness, and we pray for that quiet clarity. Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27. We ask the Lord to quiet the other voices and let you hear His gentle, loving voice above the noise.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we lift up Your daughter to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see her, You know her history, her grief over her mother, the heavy responsibility she carried, her RA and loss of mobility, her pain and many medicines, her homelessness and her need for a home. Lord, have mercy and show Your power. Provide a safe, stable, physical home for her, somehow some way, according to Your promises. Supply every need, open the right doors for emergency funds and shelter, move on the disability claim and bring justice in the lawsuit. Touch her body and bring healing and strength, ease her pain and restore what has been lost. Comfort her soul and wipe her tears, let her feel Your presence when she cries so hard. Keep her heart open, tender and full of love, do not let past hurts or present harshness make her bitter, fill her with Your love. Speak to her clearly, let her hear only Your voice and know she is blessed and held and never unwanted by You. Forgive us and help us to forgive others as You have forgiven us. Strengthen her to wait on You with hope, and show her that You are her rock and refuge. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.
