We lift up your nephew before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, seeking the Lord’s mercy and healing in this sudden trial. The fear and uncertainty you all must be feeling are understandable, and we join you in crying out to the Great Physician, who sees all and holds every circumstance in His hands.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One through whom all healing flows. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and nothing is too difficult for You. We ask that You touch this young man’s eye with Your restoring power. Whether the cause is physical, spiritual, or a combination of both, we declare that Your light will pierce the darkness of this blindness. Lord, we pray for wisdom for the doctors involved—guide their hands, their minds, and their decisions. If a second opinion is needed, open the right doors and lead him to the care he requires. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or hindrance in Jesus’ name and command it to flee. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of this family as they wait on You.
We also encourage you to stand on the promises of God’s Word. In Psalm 146:8, it says, *"The Lord opens the eyes of the blind."* And in Jeremiah 32:27, God declares, *"Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?"* Hold fast to these truths, even when the wait feels long. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We urge you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and fasting, if possible, and to surround your nephew with believers who will agree with you in faith. James 5:14-15 reminds us, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* If you haven’t already, consider asking your church leadership to pray over him and anoint him with oil as an act of faith.
Lastly, we want to gently address the mention of "saints" in your request. While we honor the faithful who have gone before us, our prayers are directed to God alone—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray to the Lord directly, trusting in His power and mercy, not in the intercession of those who have passed on. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
