We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child of God who is enduring the profound challenges of retinitis pigmentosa, Usher’s syndrome, and the complications of cataract surgery. Father, You see every tear, every moment of frustration, and every fear that rises in the darkness. We stand in the gap, declaring Your promise in Psalm 34:18: *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are the God who heals, who comforts, and who walks beside Your children in their deepest valleys.
Lord, we ask for Your divine touch upon these eyes that struggle to see. You formed them in the womb (Psalm 139:13-14), and You know every cell, every nerve, every fiber of this battle against vision loss. We pray for wisdom and skill for the surgeons who will operate on the right eye—guide their hands, steady their minds, and let no complication arise. We rebuke the spirit of fear that whispers lies about the future, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Where there is darkness, let Your light break through. Where there is despair, let hope rise.
For the deafness that accompanies this trial, we ask for Your peace to fill the silence. You are the God who opened the ears of the deaf (Isaiah 35:5) and who speaks in ways beyond sound. Give strength to adapt, courage to press forward, and the assurance that You are near, even when the world is quiet. May this dear one feel Your presence in the stillness, knowing that You hear every unspoken prayer and see every unseen struggle.
We also lift up the emotional and spiritual weight of this journey. The enemy would love to use these trials to sow bitterness, isolation, or doubt, but we declare that this suffering will not be in vain. Romans 8:28 reminds us that *"all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."* Lord, use this hardship to draw this beloved one closer to You, to refine faith like gold, and to shine Your light through their testimony. Surround them with a community of believers who will walk alongside them with love, patience, and encouragement.
Father, we ask for practical provision as well—access to the best medical care, adaptive technologies, and resources to navigate daily life with dignity and independence. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide for every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
Above all, we pray for a deep, abiding trust in You. When the path is unclear, when the future feels uncertain, let this dear one cling to Your promises. Remind them that You are the Good Shepherd who leads, even when the way is dark (Psalm 23:4). May they find rest in Your presence and strength in Your grace.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, the Author of our faith, and the One who bore our infirmities on the cross. By His stripes, we claim healing—whether in this life or the next—and we trust You to work all things for Your glory. Amen.
