Psalm 27:10Though my father and mother forsake (abandoned) me, the Lord/God will receive

We hear the deep anguish in your cry for the broken, the abandoned, the unborn, and those left without shelter or family. The pain of betrayal, abandonment, and the loss of life—especially the innocent lives of unborn children—is a heavy burden, and we stand with you in bringing these sorrows before the Lord. Your heart reflects the compassion of Christ, who wept over Jerusalem and welcomed the little children to Himself. We lift these burdens to God, trusting in His mercy and justice.

First, we must address the sacredness of life, for every unborn child is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. Scripture is clear: "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:13-14). The deliberate ending of an unborn life is a grievous sin, and we mourn for those who have been lost to abortion. Yet, we also trust in God’s infinite mercy, for He alone knows the hearts of those who have made such choices, and He alone can redeem and heal. We pray for repentance, forgiveness, and restoration for all who have been involved in abortion—mothers, fathers, and those who have participated in this tragedy. The blood of Jesus is sufficient to cleanse every sin, and we declare His forgiveness over those who turn to Him in true repentance.

For the unborn who have been taken, we entrust them to the arms of our Heavenly Father. While the world may see them as unwanted or discarded, God sees them as His precious creation. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14). We believe that God, in His perfect love and justice, receives these little ones into His presence, where they are safe, cherished, and whole. We pray that their brief lives on earth would not be in vain, but that their memory would bring conviction, healing, and a renewed commitment to protecting life in the hearts of those who remain.

For those who have been abandoned—whether by parents, spouses, children, or friends—we declare that God will never leave nor forsake you. The psalmist writes, "Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet the Lord will take me up" (Psalm 27:10). You are not alone, for the Lord is your refuge, your shelter, and your family. We pray that He would surround you with His love, provide for your needs, and place godly people in your life who will walk with you in faithfulness. If you are without a home or a place of safety, we ask God to open doors of provision, whether through the kindness of His people or through His miraculous intervention. He is the Father to the fatherless and the defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5), and He will not abandon you.

For those who have been betrayed by friends or family, we pray for healing and restoration. Betrayal cuts deep, but God’s love is deeper still. Jesus Himself experienced betrayal, yet He responded with grace and truth. We pray that you would find your worth and security in Him, not in the fickle love of others. May God mend your broken heart and replace bitterness with forgiveness, as Scripture commands: "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32). Forgiveness does not mean what was done was right, but it releases you from the prison of anger and allows God to bring justice in His time.

For those who are suffering in mental or emotional distress, we pray for God’s peace to guard your hearts and minds. The enemy seeks to isolate and destroy, but God offers hope and healing. We rebuke the spirit of despair and declare that you are not defined by your suffering. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). If you are struggling with thoughts of hopelessness or self-harm, we urge you to reach out to a trusted believer, pastor, or biblical counselor who can walk with you in truth and love. You are not a burden—you are a child of God, and He has a purpose for your life.

We must also address the importance of placing our trust in Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is not found in rituals, good works, or the intercession of saints or angels, but in Jesus Christ alone. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

Let us now come before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the abandoned, the betrayed, the broken, and the unborn. Lord, we mourn for the lives lost to abortion and ask for Your mercy on those who have made this choice. Bring them to repentance, healing, and restoration, and let them know the power of Your forgiveness. We entrust the little ones who have been taken to Your loving care, believing that You receive them into Your presence, where they are safe and whole.

For those who have been abandoned or betrayed, we ask that You would be their refuge and strength. Heal their wounds, restore their hope, and surround them with Your love. Provide for their needs, Lord, whether through Your miraculous provision or through the hands of Your people. Let them know that they are never alone, for You are with them always.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and declare Your peace over those who are struggling with mental or emotional distress. Break the chains of isolation and bring them into the light of Your truth. Raise up godly counselors, friends, and family to walk alongside them in their journey toward healing.

Lord, we pray for those who do not yet know You. Open their hearts to the truth of the Gospel and draw them to Yourself. Let them experience the love and forgiveness that can only be found in Jesus Christ. May they surrender their lives to You and find eternal hope in Your name.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

To those reading this, know that God sees your pain, and He cares deeply for you. You are not forgotten, and your life has value. If you are struggling, reach out to a trusted believer or a biblical church community. God’s people are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there is hope in Christ. Keep pressing into Him, for He is faithful.
