We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep pain and sorrow expressed in this plea. The loss of the unborn, the wounds of abandonment, and the ache of betrayal are burdens no one should carry alone. We stand in the gap, interceding for every soul mentioned here—those who have lost children, those who feel utterly forsaken, and the precious little ones whose lives were cut short before they could draw breath in this world.
First, we must address the grave sin of abortion, which is the murder of innocent life. The Bible is clear: *"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart"* (Jeremiah 1:5 WEB). Every unborn child is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (Psalm 139:13-14), and their lives are sacred. We rebuke the spirit of death and deception that leads mothers and fathers to believe abortion is a solution. It is not. It is a violation of God’s commandment: *"You shall not murder"* (Exodus 20:13 WEB). For those who have participated in abortion, whether through coercion, fear, or choice, we declare that there is forgiveness and healing in the name of Jesus Christ. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9 WEB). Turn to Him, repent, and receive His mercy.
For the families torn apart by abandonment—wives left by husbands, husbands by wives, children forsaken by their parents—we cry out to the Lord who promises never to leave nor forsake His own (Deuteronomy 31:6). The pain of being left behind is profound, but God is the Father to the fatherless and the Defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). He sees every tear and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). We pray for restoration where possible, and for the strength to trust in God’s provision when human relationships fail. *"Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet Yahweh will take me up"* (Psalm 27:10 WEB). You are not alone. The Lord is your refuge and your shelter.
For those who feel they have no place to call home, no family to turn to, and no friend to lean on, we declare that God is your dwelling place. *"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing"* (Psalm 23:1 WEB). He promises to be a father to the fatherless and a husband to the widow (Isaiah 54:5). If you are without shelter, we pray that God would open doors of provision and surround you with His people who will show you the love of Christ. If you are in danger, we pray for divine protection and intervention. Do not lose hope, for God hears the cries of the destitute (Psalm 10:17).
For the unborn babies who were despised, rejected, or lost through miscarriage, we entrust them into the arms of our loving Father. Jesus said, *"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these"* (Matthew 19:14 WEB). We believe that God, in His infinite mercy, welcomes these little ones into His presence. They are safe with Him, free from pain and suffering, and we trust that one day, we will meet them in glory.
We must also address the absence of the name of Jesus in the original plea. There is no salvation, no forgiveness, and no access to the Father except through Jesus Christ. *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’"* (John 14:6 WEB). If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and receive the gift of eternal life. *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16 WEB).
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up every person and situation mentioned here. Lord, we ask for Your mercy to cover the sin of abortion. We repent on behalf of those who have taken the lives of the unborn, and we ask for Your forgiveness and healing. Comfort the mothers and fathers who grieve, and let them know that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). For the families torn apart by abandonment, we pray for Your restoration. Heal the wounds, soften hardened hearts, and draw them back to You. For those who feel alone, without shelter or support, be their refuge, Lord. Provide for their needs, surround them with Your love, and lead them to a community of believers who will care for them as You do.
Father, we entrust the unborn babies into Your loving care. We believe that You receive them into Your arms and that they are safe with You. Comfort those who mourn their loss, and let them find peace in Your promises. Lord, we also pray for those who do not yet know You. Open their eyes to the truth of the gospel. Let them see their need for a Savior and turn to Jesus Christ for salvation. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and draw them into a relationship with You.
We rebuke every spirit of death, abandonment, and despair in the name of Jesus. We declare that You are the God who heals, restores, and redeems. Your love never fails, and Your mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). We trust in You, Lord, and we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
