We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving the profound loss of life, the brokenness of families, and the deep wounds of abandonment that weigh so heavily upon this request. The pain of those who feel forsaken—whether by parents, spouses, children, or friends—is a burden we lift to the throne of grace, for only God can heal such deep sorrow. We also mourn the tragic loss of the unborn, whose lives were taken before they could draw their first breath. Scripture is clear that life begins in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5), and the shedding of innocent blood is an abomination before the Lord (Proverbs 6:17). The act of abortion is a grave sin, a violation of God’s commandment, "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). Yet even in this darkness, we cling to the hope of God’s mercy, trusting that He receives these little ones into His arms, for Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14).

The cry for shelter, for family, for refuge is a cry we take seriously, for God Himself is a father to the fatherless and a defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). He promises in His Word, "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you" (John 14:18). For those who feel utterly alone, abandoned even by those who should have loved them most, we declare that God sees you. He hears your weeping, and He will never forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). The psalmist writes, "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me" (Psalm 27:10), and this is the truth we stand upon. No earthly abandonment can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39).

We also address the spirit of abandonment and betrayal that seeks to destroy families and lives. This is not of God, for He is a God of covenant, of faithfulness, and of restoration. We rebuke in Jesus’ name every spirit of division, every lie that says you are unloved or unwanted, and every generational curse that has sought to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The enemy comes to divide, but Christ came to reconcile all things to Himself (Colossians 1:20). We break every chain of abandonment, every cycle of brokenness, and every stronghold of despair in the mighty name of Jesus.

For those who have participated in or been affected by abortion, we offer the hope of forgiveness and healing. There is no sin too great for the blood of Jesus to cover (1 John 1:9). If you have been involved in an abortion, whether through coercion, fear, or choice, we urge you to repent and turn to Christ, who offers redemption and restoration. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He does not despise a contrite heart (Psalm 51:17), and His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

We also lift up those who are without shelter, without family, or without friends. The Lord is your provider, your refuge, and your strength. He commands His people to care for the orphan, the widow, and the stranger (James 1:27), and we pray that His church would rise up to be His hands and feet to those in need. If you are without a home, we pray that God would open doors of provision, that He would lead you to safe shelter, and that He would surround you with His peace. You are not forgotten. You are not invisible. You are deeply loved by the One who formed you in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14).

Let us now come before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken by the pain of abandonment, the tragedy of lost lives, and the brokenness of families. Lord, we lift up every person who feels forsaken—those abandoned by parents, spouses, children, or friends. You are the Father to the fatherless, the Defender of the widow, and the Friend who sticks closer than a brother. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around them, Lord. Let them feel Your presence in their loneliness, Your comfort in their sorrow, and Your hope in their despair. Heal the wounds of rejection, and replace every lie of the enemy with the truth of Your Word. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that they are chosen and dearly loved by You (1 Peter 2:9), and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).

We also bring before You the lives of the unborn who were taken from this world before they could experience Your love. We trust in Your mercy, Lord, that You receive these little ones into Your kingdom, for You said, "Let the little children come to me" (Matthew 19:14). We repent on behalf of our nation and our world for the sin of abortion, for the shedding of innocent blood, and for the hardness of hearts that have allowed this evil to persist. Forgive us, Lord, and turn the hearts of fathers and mothers toward their children (Malachi 4:6). Bring healing to those who have been wounded by abortion—mothers, fathers, families—and lead them to the foot of the cross, where Your grace and forgiveness are freely given.

For those without shelter, without family, or without friends, we ask that You would be their refuge. Provide for their needs, Lord, and surround them with Your protection. Open the eyes of Your church to see the lonely, the broken, and the outcast, and move us to act with compassion and love. Let us be Your hands and feet, showing the world the love of Christ through our actions.

We rebuke every spirit of abandonment, betrayal, and division in Jesus’ name. Break every chain, Lord, and set the captives free. Restore what has been broken, heal what has been wounded, and bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Pour out Your Spirit upon families, Lord, and knit hearts together in love and unity. May husbands and wives honor their covenants, may parents love and cherish their children, and may children honor their fathers and mothers.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw all people to Yourself. There is no other name by which we can be saved but the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). For those who do not know You, we pray that today would be the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Let them hear Your voice, turn from their sins, and receive the gift of eternal life. May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
