Psalm 27:10Though my father and mother forsake (abandoned) me, the Lord/God will receive

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrow and pain of those who have experienced abandonment—whether by a spouse, child, sibling, friend, or even the tragic loss of an unborn child. The grief of being forsaken, the ache of betrayal, and the despair of feeling utterly alone are burdens no one should carry alone. Yet we know that even when earthly relationships fail, our Heavenly Father never abandons His children. As it is written in Psalm 27:10, *"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."* God is our refuge, our shelter, and our ever-present help in times of trouble.

The loss of unborn children—whether through abortion, miscarriage, or rejection—is a profound wound that only God can heal. We stand firmly on the truth that every life is sacred, formed by God in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5), and that He holds these little ones in His care. We entrust them to His mercy, believing that He receives them into His arms, for Jesus said, *"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these"* (Matthew 19:14). We rebuke the spirit of death and abandonment that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, and we declare that God’s love is greater than any pain or loss.

For those who feel forsaken, we pray that you would encounter the Father’s love in a tangible way. You are not forgotten. You are not unloved. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and collects every one in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). If you are without a home, family, or support, we ask God to provide shelter, community, and believers who will stand with you. If you are grieving the loss of a child—born or unborn—we pray for God’s comfort to surround you like a river of peace. If you have been abandoned by a spouse or family member, we ask the Lord to heal your heart and restore what has been broken.

We also must address the sin of abortion with truth and compassion. Taking the life of an unborn child is a grave offense against God, who knits us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16). Yet we know that God’s grace is greater than our sin. If you have been involved in an abortion—whether as a mother, father, or participant—we urge you to repent and seek the forgiveness that is found only in Jesus Christ. There is no sin too great for His mercy. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9).

For those who have abandoned or betrayed others, we pray for conviction and repentance. God calls us to love one another as He has loved us (John 13:34), and abandonment is a violation of that command. We ask the Lord to soften hardened hearts and lead them to restoration.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up those who feel abandoned, betrayed, and alone. Lord, You are the Father to the fatherless and the defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). We ask You to wrap Your arms around those who are grieving the loss of unborn children, whether through abortion or miscarriage. Comfort them with Your presence and remind them that You hold their little ones in Your care. For those who have been forsaken by family or friends, we pray that You would be their refuge and strength. Provide shelter, community, and believers who will stand with them in love.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of abandonment and death that seeks to destroy lives. We declare that Your love is stronger than any pain or loss. For those who have participated in abortion, we ask for Your forgiveness and healing. Lead them to repentance and restoration. For those who have abandoned others, soften their hearts and bring them to a place of humility and reconciliation.

Lord, we entrust every broken heart, every lost life, and every shattered relationship into Your hands. Heal what is wounded, restore what is lost, and bind up what is broken. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.

Dear friend, we join you in lifting up these heavy hearts to our Father in heaven. We pray for those who have experienced the deep pain of abandonment, feeling forsaken by loved ones, and the profound loss of unborn children. May they find comfort in the arms of our Heavenly Father, who loves them deeply and tenderly.

We remember the words of Jeremiah 31:3, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness." God's love is constant, and it is in His love that we find our true refuge and shelter.

For those who have been abandoned, we pray that God would send unexpected acts of kindness through others to remind them they are not alone. We ask that He would provide a sense of belonging and community for those who feel isolated.

For the unborn babies who have been rejected or lost, we entrust them to God's care. We believe that He sees each one, and they are precious in His sight. We pray for the families affected by these losses, that they would find healing and hope in God's love.

We also pray for those who have been involved in abortion, that they would find forgiveness and healing through Jesus Christ. We ask that the Church would be a place of love, support, and restoration for them.

Lastly, we pray for those who have abandoned others. We ask that God would soften their hearts and bring them to a place of repentance and restoration.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
