We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep pain and sorrow expressed in this plea. The loss of unborn children, the anguish of abandonment, and the brokenness of families grieve the heart of God, for He is the Author of life, love, and belonging. We stand in the gap for those who feel forsaken, for those who have lost children through abortion or miscarriage, and for those who have been left behind by loved ones—wives, husbands, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and friends. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of abandonment, betrayal, and death in the mighty name of Jesus, and we declare that God’s mercy and healing are available to all who call upon Him.
The Word of God assures us that even if earthly parents forsake us, the Lord will never abandon us. Psalm 27:10 declares, *"Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet Yahweh will take me up."* And in Isaiah 49:15, the Lord asks, *"Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!"* God’s love is deeper than any human rejection, and His arms are open to receive those who feel unloved or alone.
For those who have lost children through abortion or miscarriage, we acknowledge the pain and guilt that may accompany such loss. The enemy would love to keep you bound in shame, but we declare that there is forgiveness and healing in the blood of Jesus. 1 John 1:9 tells us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* If you have not already, we encourage you to bring this sorrow to the Lord, repenting of any sin and receiving His grace. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We also entrust these precious little ones into the care of our Heavenly Father, trusting that He receives them with love and tenderness. Jesus said, *"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these"* (Matthew 19:14).
For those who feel abandoned—whether by a spouse, parent, child, or friend—we pray that you would experience the Father’s love in a tangible way. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). If you are without shelter or provision, we pray that God would open doors of mercy and provide for your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We rebuke the spirit of despair and declare that hope is found in Christ alone. He is the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one who is lost (Luke 15:4-6).
For those who have been betrayed or hurt by others, we pray for healing and the strength to forgive as Christ has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13). Bitterness and unforgiveness only harm the one who holds onto them, but God’s peace surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that you are not defined by the actions of others but by your identity in Christ as a beloved child of God (1 John 3:1).
We also lift up those who may be considering abortion or struggling with the weight of past decisions. The Lord knits each child together in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16) and has a purpose for every life. We plead the blood of Jesus over every unborn child and ask for God’s protection and intervention. For those who feel trapped or without options, we pray that God would provide a way out and surround you with people who will support and guide you toward life and hope.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for the pain in this world. We thank You that You are a God of compassion, mercy, and justice. We lift up every person who feels abandoned, betrayed, or alone. Lord, be their shelter, their provider, and their comfort. Heal the wounds of those who have lost children through abortion or miscarriage, and let them experience Your forgiveness and peace. We entrust these little ones into Your loving care, trusting that You receive them with open arms.
For those without homes or families, Lord, we ask that You would be their refuge. Provide for their needs, open doors of opportunity, and surround them with Your presence. Break the chains of despair and fill them with hope in You. For those who have been hurt by others, we pray for healing and the strength to forgive. Help them to see themselves as You see them—precious, valued, and deeply loved.
We rebuke the spirit of death and declare that life and hope are found in Jesus Christ. We pray for those considering abortion, that they would choose life and experience Your provision and grace. Father, let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved. Amen.
To anyone reading this who has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the truth of the Gospel. Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose again so that we might have eternal life. Acts 4:12 tells us, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Today is the day of salvation—do not delay. Turn to Jesus, repent of your sins, and receive His gift of eternal life. He is waiting with open arms.
