Psalm 27:10Though my father and mother forsake (abandoned) me, the Lord/God will receive

Isaiah 49:15Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget,

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrows and wounds of abandonment, loss, and the tragic reality of unborn lives taken too soon. The pain of being forsaken—whether by parents, spouses, children, or friends—cuts to the very core of our souls, and the grief of those who have lost little ones through abortion or miscarriage is a burden no words can fully express. Yet we stand on the unshakable truth that our God is near to the brokenhearted, and He collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is the Father to the fatherless, the Defender of the weak, and the Hope of the hopeless.

The Word of God declares that even if earthly parents abandon us, the Lord will never leave nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). You quoted Psalm 27:10, and we cling to its promise: *"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."* This is not just comfort—it is a covenant. The same God who formed those precious unborn children in the secret place (Psalm 139:13-16) welcomes them into His eternal arms. We trust that He receives the innocent, the aborted, and the miscarried with perfect justice and mercy. Their lives were not wasted; they were known and loved by Him before the foundation of the world (Jeremiah 1:5).

But we must also address the grave sin of abortion with truth and love. The deliberate ending of an unborn life is a violation of God’s commandment: *"You shall not murder"* (Exodus 20:13). It is not merely a "choice"—it is the destruction of a human being made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). For those who have participated in abortion—whether as mothers, fathers, doctors, or enablers—there is forgiveness in the blood of Jesus Christ. He bore the weight of every sin on the cross, and His mercy is deeper than any guilt. *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). But forgiveness requires repentance—a turning away from sin and toward the healing light of Christ.

For those suffering the aftermath of abandonment, betrayal, or the loss of family, we cry out to God to be your shelter. You are not alone. The Lord promises in Isaiah 41:10: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Even if you feel like a "beggar for shelter" or as if you’ve been cast into a "madhouse" of despair, Jesus is the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one who is lost (Luke 15:4). He is building a new family for you—one bound not by blood, but by the blood of the Lamb. The Church is called to be that family, and we must rise to the call of James 1:27: *"Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction."*

To those who have no home, no refuge, and no one to turn to, we pray that God would open doors of provision and community. But we also challenge the Church to *be* that refuge. How can we call ourselves followers of Christ if we turn away the orphan, the widow, or the brokenhearted? *"Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward"* (Matthew 10:42). Let us be the hands and feet of Jesus to the abandoned.

And to those who have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, we must make this clear: There is no hope, no healing, and no eternal life apart from Him. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). If you have not confessed Him as Lord, if you do not know the power of His resurrection in your life, today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). The abandoned, the grieving, and the lost cannot find true refuge in anything or anyone else. Only in Jesus is there forgiveness, restoration, and the promise of an eternal home.

We pray now, lifting up every heart that is shattered by abandonment, every womb that aches from loss, and every soul that feels utterly alone:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You with weeping for the unborn whose lives were cut short, for the mothers and fathers who carry the weight of that choice, and for all who have been forsaken by those who should have loved them. Lord, You are the God who sees the sparrow fall and numbers the hairs on our heads (Matthew 10:29-30). You know the name of every child lost to abortion or miscarriage, and we trust them to Your perfect care. Comfort those who mourn, and break the chains of guilt and shame for those who have participated in abortion. Lead them to repentance and healing in Your Son’s name.

For the abandoned—whether by parents, spouses, or friends—we ask You to be their Father, their Husband, and their Friend. Where earthly love has failed, let Your love overflow. Provide shelter, provision, and a family in the body of Christ. Raise up godly men and women to stand in the gap for the fatherless and the widow. Break the spirit of abandonment that seeks to destroy, and replace it with the assurance that You will never leave them (Hebrews 13:5).

For those who feel like outcasts, like beggars with no place to lay their heads, we pray that You would open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Let them find refuge in You, and let Your people be a tangible expression of Your love. Heal the wounds of betrayal, and restore what has been stolen by the enemy.

And for those who do not yet know Jesus, we pray that today would be the day they turn to Him. Soften hearts, open eyes, and let them hear the voice of the Good Shepherd calling them home (John 10:27). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4). May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen."*

We're right here with you, dear friend, standing in the gap and lifting up our voices to heaven on your behalf. We know the pain of abandonment, the ache of loss, and the deep sorrow that comes from the tragic reality of unborn lives taken too soon. It's a heavy burden to bear, but we carry it together, united in our faith and love for one another.

We pray for all those who feel abandoned, betrayed, or alone - for the unborn babies, for the mothers and fathers who carry the weight of their choices, and for those who have been forsaken by those they loved and trusted. We ask our Father in heaven to be their refuge, their comfort, and their strength. We plead for the chains of guilt and shame to be broken, and for hearts to be softened and turned towards healing and repentance.

For those who feel like they have no shelter, no home, and no one to turn to, we cry out to God to open doors of provision and community. We ask Him to raise up godly men and women to stand in the gap, to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and to provide a family in the body of Christ. We pray that the spirit of abandonment would be broken, and that the assurance of God's never-failing love would fill their hearts.

And for those who don't yet know Jesus, we pray that today would be the day they turn to Him. We ask that hearts would be softened, eyes opened, and ears attentive to the voice of the Good Shepherd calling them home.

We trust that God sees every tear, every heartache, and every lost child. We trust that He is just, and that He will make all things right in His perfect timing. We trust that He is near to the brokenhearted, and that He will heal the wounds of the abandoned and betrayed.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
