We hear the deep anguish in your cry, grief for the unborn whose lives were cut short, sorrow for those abandoned by family, and the weight of betrayal and loss. The pain of miscarriage, abortion, and broken families is real, and we stand with you in this lament, bringing it before the Lord who alone can heal and restore.

The loss of life, whether through abortion, miscarriage, or neglect, is a tragedy that grieves the heart of God. Scripture is clear that children are a blessing from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and every life, born or unborn, bears His image (Genesis 1:27). We rebuke the spirit of death and abandonment that has stolen so much from families and generations. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that the blood of Jesus covers these precious lives, and we trust in His mercy to receive them into His arms. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

For those who have suffered abandonment, whether as children, spouses, or friends, we pray for the Lord’s healing touch. You are not forgotten. Psalm 27:10, which you shared, reminds us that even if earthly parents forsake us, the Lord will receive us. He is a Father to the fatherless and a defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). We pray for shelter, provision, and comfort for those without a home or family. May the Lord raise up godly community to surround them, and may His presence be their refuge (Psalm 46:1).

We also address the sin of abortion and the hardness of heart that leads to it. For those who have participated in or been affected by abortion, we declare the forgiveness and redemption found in Christ. There is no sin too great for His grace (1 John 1:9). If you or someone you know carries guilt or shame from past decisions, we encourage you to bring it to Jesus, who bore our sins on the cross (Isaiah 53:5). He offers healing and a new beginning.

For those struggling with betrayal or loneliness, we pray for restoration. The Lord promises to restore the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). We rebuke the spirit of division and pray for reconciliation where possible, always guided by His wisdom and love.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the unborn whose lives were taken, the families torn apart by abandonment, and the lonely who feel forgotten. Lord, we trust in Your mercy to receive these little ones into Your presence, and we ask for Your comfort to surround those who mourn. Heal the wounds of betrayal and loss, and restore what has been broken. Provide shelter, family, and hope to those without a home. Forgive us for the times we have failed to value life as You do, and lead us to repentance and healing. Raise up godly marriages, families, and communities that reflect Your love. We declare that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

To those reading this: If you do not yet know Jesus as your Savior, we urge you to turn to Him. He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and salvation is found in no other name (Acts 4:12). Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9). He is waiting with open arms.

We are carrying this heavy burden with you in prayer. What you have laid before God is so much, unborn little ones lost, families shattered, children abandoned, and a deep cry for shelter and mercy. The ache in your words is not lost on us, and it is not lost on the Lord. When you hold up those who have no home, no family to turn to, and no human refuge, you are holding up some of the most tender and unseen wounds in our world. We weep with you.

We also know that the grief and regret tied to the loss of an unborn child, whether through abortion or miscarriage, can be especially isolating. Many carry that pain in secret, sometimes for years. If you are personally carrying that sorrow, or standing with someone who is, please know you do not have to walk it alone. Practical help exists. A local crisis pregnancy center or a church that offers post-abortion healing groups (like Surrendering the Secret or Rachel’s Vineyard) can provide a safe, confidential space to begin to process that loss with others who understand. If you or someone you are praying for is without shelter tonight, we urge you to contact a nearby church, even if it’s not your own, or a community-based Christian shelter. They often have resources and people who will not turn you away.

These next steps are not a fix, but they are an open door. And even before a door opens, you are not alone. God sees every abandoned child, every broken mother and father, and every precious life that ended before we could hold it. He welcomes those little ones into His arms, and He bends low to the crushed in spirit.

Jesus, we bring to You all those who feel forgotten, sons and daughters without a family, mothers and fathers buried in shame, and every unborn child whose life was cut short. Hold them. Provide shelter, safe people, and a glimpse of Your fatherly care. For anyone reading this who feels like a beggar in spirit, be their refuge now. In Your name, amen.

The tender mercy of our God stoops down to the very dust of our desolation. Can a woman forget her sucking child? Yet some have done so; but the Lord declares, “I will not forget thee.” Upon the unborn, the discarded, the little ones whose blood cries from the ground, He who gathers the lambs in His arms will not let them perish from His eternal memory. Commit these helpless souls into His hands, for of such is the kingdom of heaven, and His mercy is high as the heavens above the earth.

Yet I would not have you rest in a general hope that God is merciful, while your own soul remains unpardoned, unsheltered. There is a false hope that slays its thousands, a hope in mercy that leads men to neglect the one Refuge provided. What right have you to expect mercy, unless you flee to the Mercy Seat by the sprinkled blood? God’s mercy to a sinner is never separate from His justice; the two met at the cross. Mercy does not ignore sin; it has punished sin in the Person of His dear Son. If you would know mercy that saves, you must come to Christ. He is the true City of Refuge; whosoever will, let him flee thither and live.

See how the signposts point, Refuge! Refuge! for the manslayer who has brought death upon the infant in the womb, whether by will or by woe. The blood-guiltiness may be heavy, the abandonment piercing like a sword, but the Messenger of the Covenant comes to the desert well where you sit in despair. He asks you your condition, even as the Angel queried Hagar, and He brings you home questions that strip you bare. Yet this is the singular season when mercy goes before you, preventing grace, that meets you while you are yet a great way off. You need not make yourself fit; you need only to feel your need of mercy, and then cast yourself upon it.

God’s mercy towards those who come through Christ is tender indeed, tender in its great provisions, for it gives righteousness, sonship, an eternal inheritance; tender in its requirements, for it asks only what it gives, even faith and repentance. It makes the barren heart a new creation, turning your face from sin to the Saviour. The Lord, who is slow to anger, stays the sword of justice and bids you, this very hour, to hope in His mercy, not because you have a claim, but because He delighteth in mercy. Flee, then, to Jesus. He will receive you, though father and mother forsake; He will be a shelter for the outcast, a home for the wanderer, and in His bosom the aborted innocents rest in perfect peace. Let this be your cry and your confidence: “The God of my mercy shall prevent me.”
