We join with you in bringing these heavy burdens before the Lord, for we hear your heart crying out for those who suffer abandonment, for families broken and scattered, for children left alone, and for the precious unborn who are despised and destroyed. We agree that every life is precious to God from the womb, and we stand with you to intercede for mercy, justice, and healing.
God has not overlooked the unborn. He says in Psalm 139:13-14 For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. And in Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. The shedding of innocent blood is an abomination to the Lord, as Proverbs 6:17 reminds us, and Exodus 20:13 commands You shall not murder. We grieve with you over every aborted and miscarried child, over neighbors and generations where life has been cut off, and we trust that our merciful God receives those little ones into His care. Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 Allow the little children to come to me, and don't forbid them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these, and in Matthew 18:10 we are told their angels always see the face of our Father in heaven.
We also lift up every person who knows the pain of abandonment, whether a wife abandoned by her husband, a husband by his wife, a daughter or son forsaken by parents, a brother or sister betrayed by a friend, or children left with no house, no family, no refuge and no shelter. The Lord sees this suffering and promises His presence. Psalm 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. Isaiah 49:15 asks Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. He is a Father of the fatherless and defender of widows, as Psalm 68:5 declares, and He draws near to the brokenhearted, for Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. We take comfort also in Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid, nor be scared of them; for Yahweh your God, he is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.
We are thankful that you have prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that mercy and forgiveness are found. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. For those who have participated in or approved of abortion, for those who have abandoned family, and for all of us who have sinned, there is forgiveness and cleansing when we repent and turn to Christ, for 1 John 1:9 promises If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We also hear your concern about ancient extermination of generations, false prophets, false encounters, sabotage, photo distribution and disgrace, and a bewitched and disordered environment. We rebuke every work of deceit and darkness, for the Lord warns us in Matthew 7:15 to beware of false prophets who come in sheep's clothing, and in 1 John 4:1 to test the spirits whether they are of God. We pray for discernment, for truth to be revealed, and for protection from slander, gossip, and shame. Where there has been generational sin and brokenness, we know Ezekiel 18:20 teaches that each soul is responsible before God, yet through Christ the curse is broken and a new lineage of grace can begin for all who believe, for 2 Corinthians 5:17 says if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. We ask for Your mercy upon every unborn child, upon every mother and father tempted to reject their baby, and upon every family that has lost children through abortion or miscarriage. Receive those innocent lives into Your everlasting care and comfort those who mourn. We ask for Your mercy upon every abandoned wife, husband, son, daughter, brother, sister and friend, and upon every child who wanders without shelter. Be their refuge, their house, their family, and their shelter. Provide godly homes, faithful churches, and marriages that honor You between one man and one woman for life, where children are welcomed and cherished. Heal the neighborhood disorder and expose every false prophet, every false encounter, every act of sabotage and disgrace. Let truth prevail and let those who spread shame be brought to repentance. Break the power of any generational sin and let Your peace rest upon those who have no peace. We ask that You would give shelter to the homeless, comfort to the lonely, and hope to the despairing, and that You would turn hearts to Your Son for salvation. We entrust all these suffering and abandoned ones into Your hands, trusting that You will not forget them. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to entrust these burdens to the Lord, to seek fellowship in a faithful Bible believing church where the Word is taught and where practical help, shelter and counsel can be found, and to keep interceding for life, for family, and for truth to prevail in your community.
