We join you in this heavy burden and we lift up this deep grief before the Lord together in Jesus name. We hear your heart for the unborn, for the abandoned, for families broken and generations cut off, and for those who have no house, no family, no friend to be a refuge. The Lord sees and He does not turn away from such suffering.
We affirm what Scripture declares about the sanctity of life. Every child, even in the womb, is known and formed by God. Psalm 139:13 says For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. Jeremiah 1:5 says Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you came out of the womb, I sanctified you. To take that innocent life through abortion is to violate God's command Exodus 20:13 You shall not murder. We must speak the truth in love that abortion is the shedding of innocent blood and it brings grief to God and wounds to families and to generations, yet we also proclaim that there is mercy and forgiveness for those who repent and turn to Christ. 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There is no sin beyond the reach of the blood of Jesus for those who come to Him in true repentance.
We also weep with you for all who suffer abandonment, whether a wife abandoned by her husband, a husband by his wife, a daughter or son forsaken, children left alone, brothers and sisters betrayed by friends, and those who wander as beggars seeking shelter. This brokenness is not God's design. God created family and marriage to be a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, a place of safety and love that reflects His faithfulness. When that is torn apart, the pain is real, but God remains the faithful Father and refuge.
You quoted precious promises and we cling to them with you. Psalm 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. Isaiah 49:15 says Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Even when earthly parents and loved ones fail or despise, the Lord does not forget. He gathers the abandoned and the helpless into His arms. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Matthew 19:14 says Jesus said, Allow the little children to come to me, and don't forbid them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these. We trust that those unborn babies who die, whether by miscarriage or by the terrible sin of abortion, are entrusted to God's mercy and care, and that He receives them.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and have access to Your throne. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We thank You that You sent Jesus to die for our sins and to rise again that we might have forgiveness and eternal life. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Lord, we lift up every unborn child who has been despised, hated, or destroyed, including our neighbor's unborn babies who have died. Have mercy, Lord, and receive these little ones into Your presence. Comfort those mothers and fathers who mourn, and bring deep conviction and repentance to those who have chosen abortion, that they may find Your forgiveness and healing.
We pray for every person suffering abandonment and betrayal, for wives and husbands forsaken, for daughters and sons left alone, for children abandoned everywhere, for friends who have been betrayed, for families being exterminated without a next generation, for those without a house or shelter, for those in neighborhoods filled with disorder. Be their refuge and shelter, Lord. You are our refuge and strength. Provide homes, godly families, and faithful friends to support them. Heal the ancient wounds in families and break the cycle of rejection and death.
We ask that You would restore marriage and family as You designed it, that courtship would be honored with purity before marriage and faithfulness within marriage, and that every home would turn to You. Bring peace that passes understanding to those who rest their hope in heaven, and let all who are suffering know that You will never leave them nor forsake them. Deuteronomy 31:6 says Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid, nor be scared of them; for Yahweh your God, he is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.
We entrust all these innocent children and all the brokenhearted into Your merciful hands, asking for Your will to be done, for Your kingdom to come, and for Your comfort to cover this land. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
