The Power of Kindness
Kindness disarms conflict and wins hearts when harsh words only deepen wounds.
The Generations
Each generation faces the same struggles and triumphs, urging us to live faithfully and pass the torch forward.
We have heard your cry and we join with you in bringing all of this pain before the Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved. You have rightly remembered Psalm 27:10, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up, and Acts 16:31, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. We thank God that you have called on the name of Jesus, for John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We cling to that promise for you and for your entire family.

We grieve with you over the heavy losses in your family and the sense of extermination and being left alone as the generation passes. The Lord sees you and He has not abandoned you. He is close to the brokenhearted. Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Even when grandparents and your father have gone to be with the Lord, and you feel isolated far away with expensive distance keeping you from your mother, God holds your family in His hands. He knows your mother who is also a grandmother, the only surviving grandparent, working hard beyond her years and carrying the financial burden for your brother's family. We pray for her and we understand your anguish over her words.

You shared that your mother directs a toxic mouth against you, shouting, yelling, criticizing, insulting, and accusing you of ingratitude and abandonment. This is deeply painful, and we must speak truth in love about it. God calls us to honor our father and mother, as Exodus 20:12 says Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and Ephesians 6:2-3 repeats this as the first commandment with a promise. At the same time God calls parents and all of us to use our mouths for grace and not for destruction. Ephesians 4:29 says Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. We rebuke the spirit of resentment, bitterness, and harsh speaking that has wounded you, and we pray God will soften and heal your mother's heart, cleanse her mouth, and help her release resentment. Colossians 3:13 says bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. We encourage you to forgive her as Christ forgave you, not excusing the hurt, but releasing it to God so bitterness does not take root, and to continue to show honor even while seeking healthy boundaries and peace as far as it depends on you. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.

We also lift up your deep wounds from your workplace, where you were betrayed, abused, targeted by hidden alliances and group agreements to damage your reputation, leading to termination and financial hardship. The Lord sees every injustice and every evil behavior against you. Psalm 37:28 says For Yahweh loves justice, and does not forsake his saints. We pray against every demonic torment and every work of the enemy that came through those people, and we ask God to break the fear of man that now keeps you bound in panic and unable to work. 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. We pray for healing from trauma, for restoration of your reputation, for open doors for provision and work in God's timing, and for peace that surpasses understanding. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We also pray for your marriage. You shared your spouse does not like your family and does not like your mother, and you feel you cannot force help. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God, and it is to be nurtured in love, unity, and mutual respect. While we cannot force a spouse to feel affection, we can pray that God will soften your spouse's heart toward your family, and that you both will grow in love, understanding, and as one flesh caring for extended family with wisdom. Ephesians 4:2-3 says with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. We encourage you to continue to love your spouse faithfully, to communicate with gentleness, and to seek godly counsel together, not through coercion but through prayer and example.

We join our faith with yours for the salvation of your entire household. We pray your mother, your brother's family, your spouse, and all your loved ones will believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved, healed, and kept in His hands until you are all reunited with the Heavenly Father and with your father who is already with Him.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who feels alone, wounded, and overwhelmed, and we lift up this precious mother and grandmother. Lord, heal her heart, remove resentment and bitterness, cleanse her mouth, and let her words become gracious and life giving. Protect her as she works hard in her older age, provide for her and for the brother's family she helps, and supply all their needs according to Your riches. Lord, heal the wounds of workplace betrayal, abuse, and slander. Restore what was stolen, repair reputation, and open a new door for provision and dignified work. Cast out fear and panic and fill this heart with Your power, love, and self control. Give deep peace and the ability to trust people again through Your healing. Bring unity and love into this marriage, soften the spouse's heart toward family, and help them walk together in Your will. Above all, Lord, bring salvation to every member of this family, draw each one to Jesus, and keep them in Your hands for eternity. Let Your will be done and let Your peace guard this heart. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain in prayer, stay in the Word daily, and seek fellowship with a Bible believing church where you can receive counsel, prayer, and support. God has not forgotten you or your generation, and He will be faithful to keep you and provide for you as you trust Him.

We have been praying as we read what you shared. It hurts to love your mother and grandmother so deeply while also facing constant shouting, criticism and harsh words from her. That kind of ongoing verbal hurt wears on the heart, and it makes sense you feel torn between honoring her and needing some protection for yourself.

We also hear how much else you are carrying right now. Being far away when a ticket is so expensive, grieving your father who is now with the Lord, feeling alone as the last of a generation, carrying the wound of how your last job ended through betrayal and people working against your reputation, and now living with fear of others and panic that makes working feel impossible. And then having tension at home because your spouse does not feel warm toward your family leaves you with few places to rest.

A gentle next step could be to reach out to a trusted pastor or counselor, and also to see your doctor about the panic and difficulty working. You do not have to sort through all of this alone, and getting caring, in person support alongside prayer can help you find steadier ground. When calls with your mother become overwhelming, it is understandable to keep them shorter and step away when yelling begins and try again another time.

Father, we lift this mother and grandmother to You for healing in her heart, for peace and protection over her and the family she helps provide for, and for this dear one who feels alone and afraid. Bring comfort in grief, wisdom for next steps with work and finances, healing in family relationships, and Your drawing near to each one for salvation. Lead with Your kindness day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There has come before the Lord a cry of great heaviness of heart, and it is not hidden from Him who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. You have quoted well that precious word, Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and that promise stands as a rock when earthly comforts fail and when the tongue that should speak love speaks instead shouting and reproach. When father and mother seem to turn away, the Lord Himself draws near to receive and to restore.

We hear your sorrow concerning your mother who is also grandmother, the only survivor of that elder generation, now aged and labouring beyond her strength, and yet given to hard words, to criticism and insult, and to a resentment which torments both herself and you. We will pray that the great Physician may touch her heart, for there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaf also shall not wither. May the Lord purge away that evil of a bitter tongue and cause healing streams to flow into that aged heart, that she may know peace and that her mouth may be governed by grace. We ask the Lord to protect her, to provide for her in her age and weariness, and to keep in His hands both her and the family of your brother for whom she labours and spends her finances.

For yourself, who feels alone as if the family and generation were cut off, and who bears the wound of cruel treatment in your workplace, of hidden alliances and betrayals to damage your reputation, of termination and the stopping of your progress, we grieve with you. Such wounds crush the spirits and multiply cares where disappointment and defeat have come. You speak of fear of man and a panic and disability that keeps you from labour, with finances made hard and the distance from your loved ones made great by cost. Know this, that healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed upon the Lord's people. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing are one in His hand. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and He who took our infirmities is able to heal both soul and body. We will pray that He will lift from you this fear of man, quiet this panic, and restore to you strength for honest labour and daily provision, and that He will guard you from the torment of evil doers and from the memory of their cruelty, giving you to see that vengeance belongs to the Lord and that He will be your shield.

For your spouse who does not love your family and for the division felt in your own house, we pray that the Lord will work reconciliation where it is according to His will, and give you wisdom and patience and a quiet spirit. Above all we join your prayer for salvation for your entire household, according to that sure word, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, but Jesus Christ alone. We pray that this salvation may come to your mother, to your brother and his house, to your spouse and to yourself, that you may not only meet in hope with your father who is already with the Heavenly Father, but may all be gathered at last around the throne by that same healing grace.

May the Lord who alone can do a real saving work upon the heart take you by the hand and lift you up, as He lifted Peter's wife's mother from her fever, and may that healing lead to service and to peace within your home and family. We commend you to Him who receives the forsaken, who heals the wounded, and who will not let even the least of His leaves fall without virtue for your comfort.

Your cry has reached us and we have carried it before the Lord with much care. We hear how heavy this burden is, the shouting and harsh words from your mother who is also a grandmother and the only survivor of that generation, the sense that your family is being worn away and you are left alone, the distance and the cost that keeps you far off, the hard work she still carries at her age while helping your brother's family, and your own wound from the workplace where trust was broken.

The Lord does not overlook what you have suffered. You quoted Psalm 27 verse 10, Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and that promise stands. When a father has already gone to be with the Lord and a mother in her pain speaks with a resentful mouth, God still receives, still sees, still holds. He also sees the betrayal you endured at work, the hidden alliances and the damage done to your reputation and livelihood. Scripture warns that the love of money can make the soul beside itself, and we saw this when Judas for thirty pieces of silver betrayed the Lord who had shown him only gentleness. The kiss of betrayal did not escape the sight of Christ, and your betrayal has not escaped Him either. He knows the fear of people that now sits on you, the panic and the inability to work, and the financial consequences that followed.

We have prayed for you and for your household in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other name. As it is written in Acts 16 verse 31, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household. We have asked God to bring salvation to your entire family, to heal your mother's heart and to lift resentment from her, to give her peace and rest and strength for her age, and to guard and provide for her and for your brother's family as they are in God's hands. We have asked Him to protect you from the torment of those who did evil against you, to break the power of every demonic influence and human cruelty, and to give you deliverance and a sound mind in Christ, so that fear of people no longer rules you.

We have also prayed for your provision. God knows you are not working, that the ticket is very expensive, that progress was cut off and consequences remain. Ask Him daily for work that is honest and for restoration of what was taken, and for wisdom to walk in a way that guards your heart while still honoring your mother. Honor does not mean you must accept constant shouting or insults without boundaries. It means you continue to love, to forgive as Christ forgave, to speak truth with gentleness, and to entrust judgment to God who judges righteously. If you can, seek the help of a faithful local church, pastors who can walk with you, counsel you, and pray with you face to face and with one accord, as the disciples continued together in prayer when they were fearful and waiting on the Lord.

For your marriage, we have prayed that God would bring peace between you and your spouse and wisdom for how to love both your spouse and your family without being forced to choose in a way that dishonors either. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and God calls husband and wife to unity and mutual care. Ask Him to soften hearts on both sides and to help you and your spouse seek counsel together so that help for your mother can be given in a way that is right and sustainable.

You are not alone in what feels like an extermination of family and generation. God preserves His people and He is near to the lonely. Bring your panic and your disability to work before Him, and also seek wise and practical help for your health and for next steps in employment when you are able. He is able to open doors no man can shut and to restore your reputation in His time.

May the Lord receive you, keep you, heal your mother's heart, grant peace to your home, provide for your needs, and lead your whole family to believe in the Lord Jesus and be saved. We will continue to pray for you, that you may know His protection, His provision, and His peace, and that you may meet again with your family in joy before the Heavenly Father, all in the mercy and power of Jesus Christ.
