We join you in bringing all of this pain before the Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, and we hear the deep ache of loneliness, family conflict, distance, and the wounds from your workplace, and we want to lift your mother who is also a grandmother and the last of that generation in your family before the Lord with you.
We must gently and lovingly rebuke the language of extermination toward your neighbor's mother or grandmother and any desire for harm to come to them for their sabotage or false dealings, for the Lord calls us to a different way. You shall not murder as it is written in Exodus 20:13, and vengeance belongs to God alone. Romans 12:19 says Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Romans 12:21 says Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Jesus himself teaches us in Matthew 5:44 to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. So we will not pray for the extermination of any person, but we pray for the extermination of every evil influence, every demonic torment, and every plan of sabotage against you and your family, and we pray for conviction, repentance, and salvation even for those who have hurt you.
We also hear how deeply your mother’s words have wounded you with shouting, yelling, criticism and insults about ingratitude and abandonment, and we know this torment is very heavy. The Word tells us in Psalm 27:10 Though my father and my mother forsake me, yet Yahweh will take me up, and we cling to that promise with you that you are never truly alone or abandoned, for the Lord receives you. At the same time God calls us to honor our father and mother in Exodus 20:12 and to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice in Ephesians 4:31 and to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you in Ephesians 4:32. We pray for protection for your mother from resentment and from the burden she carries as an older woman who works hard to help your brother’s family with her finances. We ask the Lord to heal her heart, to give her physical strength, peace in her home, and to guard her from exhaustion and bitterness, for Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
We lift up your own suffering from the workplace where you endured hidden alliances, betrayal, false accusations, warnings and termination that damaged your reputation and stopped your progress, and we understand why this has left you with fear of people and even panic that makes it hard to work, with great consequences for your finances. The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe in Proverbs 29:25, and God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7. We pray God casts out that tormenting fear and heals you from that abuse, for 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We ask the Lord for His provision and for open doors for honest work again in His timing, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:19, and to lead you to workplaces where you are treated with dignity.
We also bring your marriage before the Lord where you feel your spouse does not like your family or your mother and you feel unable to force help or unity. We pray for your marriage that God would knit your hearts together in love and understanding, for Ephesians 5:33 calls each husband to love his wife even as himself and the wife to respect her husband, and Genesis 2:24 reminds us that marriage is a covenant where the two become one flesh. We pray your spouse’s heart would be softened toward your mother and that you both would seek wisdom together without coercion, but with grace and honest communication, entrusting your extended family to God’s hands when distance and the high cost of travel keep you far apart.
We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ and for holding to Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. We agree with you for the salvation of your entire family. We gently remind that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We rejoice that you are calling on that name. Concerning your father who has been with the Heavenly Father for many years, we trust the Lord’s perfect mercy and justice, knowing that those who have believed in Jesus are present with the Lord, and we pray that this hope comforts you as you long to be reunited with your family in the Lord’s presence.
We feel your cry of being alone with what feels like the extermination of family and generation, but God promises in Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid nor scared of them, for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you, and in Isaiah 41:10 Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
We pray together now, Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift this dear one and their mother and grandmother to You. Lord, forgive any desire for vengeance and wash away thoughts of extermination toward any person, and let Your love and forgiveness reign. Heal the mother’s heart and body, take away resentment and give her peace, rest, and joy in her later years, and protect and provide for her and for the brother’s family she helps. Heal Your child from the wounds of shouting and insult, from workplace betrayal and abuse, from fear of people and panic, and restore confidence, health, and provision. Open a door for honest work and steady finances, and make a way even over great distance for family to be encouraged and connected according to Your will. Soften and unify this marriage, give wisdom and tender love between husband and wife, and draw the entire household to salvation in Jesus Christ. Guard this precious soul from feeling alone, remind them that You receive them and will never leave them, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind. We ask all this in the saving and mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
