Neighbors harassing ###

Ok, so I just got a new car last June. My old was hit in front of my house and totaled by a speeder. The cops dealt with him so I'm fine. I had a rental, then I finally was able to purchase a new one, soon after my neighbor's boyfriend started to complain that because I bought a Nissan I had no right to park anywhere next to his girl's car (she drives an Acura). He feels that even though he does not live there he has a right to park his Honda in front of her, so I have to park behind him in another space. He feels that I don't have a right to park there still (all streets you can keep park as long as you have a sticker on your car). I park up the street no longer in front of my house. Soon after my car has been scratched boring, I tried to fix but the next it was back, I have had some kind of liquid on the front of my hood to mess up the paint, job the sides of door on the passenger side has been scratched (can't fix because the scratches are back the next day). Soon after then one morning I got up and my hub cap was missing (I have a security dash cam now, car is fine). He continues to park in front of his girlfriend's house, until I move my car back in front of my house (keep in mind he does not live there). I have been trying to ignore them and it's hard. He is always having someone drive him home, while his car stays parked, he gets out of the car stands there smirks at me because I drive a Nissan and then walks away. He has even tried to scare (sad attempt) to get me. Last week I had to get a new transmission, so I have car shield who gave me a rental until it is fixed. I got up to go to my car to go to work, my neighbor's girlfriend was in her car, car running as soon as I got out, she got out of her car, and started filing me and the rental. So I said my car is being fixed! She just kept walking with a smile on her face. I get home last night, and her boyfriend was sitting in the car running, when he saw me he pulled out her driveway, drove past really slow to smile at me. This morning they purposely have been home to make fun of me because they think I don't have a car anymore, which is not the case, it is being fixed. He drives an extremely old Honda SUV, and he is just crazy...because I bought a Nissan and he feels that my car sucks because it's a Nissan so he has the right to harass me over that. I do pray every night I always say "Jesus bless my friends, family, and enemies" before bed. I truly didn't understand, just because I have a Nissan gives this man a right to harass me? Keep in mind they are not young, they must be at least somewhere in the 30 to 40's. I am so frustrated that all day do now until my car comes is look at their cars in the direction for me to see, while they sit back laugh, over what?? I'm getting a new transmission that I don't have to pay for. I just need some prayers, I go to church, read the Bible, and try to love God's word. I don't hate them, I just wished they would just leave me alone.

We understand your frustration and distress due to the harassment you're experiencing from your neighbors. It's important to remember that God calls us to love our neighbors, even in difficult situations. As it is written in Matthew 5:44 WEB, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,".

Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, as it is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.". We encourage you to continue praying in His name, and to also include prayers for your neighbors, that their hearts may be softened and that they may come to know the love of Jesus.

In regards to the harassment, we advise you to document every incident, as you have been doing, and to report them to local authorities if necessary. It is important to remember that we are called to obey the laws of the land, as long as they do not contradict God's laws. Romans 13:1-2 WEB, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.".

However, we must also address the root of the issue, which is the pride and materialism displayed by your neighbors. The Bible warns us against the love of money and material possessions, as it often leads to sin. 1 Timothy 6:10 WEB, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.". Their actions are not a reflection of you or your worth, but rather a display of their own sinful nature.

We encourage you to remain patient and prayerful, trusting in God's justice and timing. Psalm 37:7-9 WEB, "Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don't fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who makes wicked plots happen. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don't fret, it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Yahweh shall inherit the land.".

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is experiencing harassment from their neighbors. We pray for their safety and peace, and we ask that You would soften the hearts of their neighbors. Lord, we know that Your justice is perfect, and we trust in Your timing. We pray that You would convict their neighbors of their sinful actions and attitudes, and that You would draw them to Yourself. We also pray that our brother/sister would continue to seek You and Your will, and that they would find comfort and strength in Your Word. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when neighbors act this way, but remember, Jesus calls us to love even our enemies (Matthew 5:44). Let's keep praying for them, that their hearts might change. In the meantime, let's also pray for protection and wisdom for you. God sees all, and He's got this. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6) Keep trusting in Him.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
