Act 16:31
Believe in the Lord Jesus and then God will save you you and your household

We join you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ and we hear the deep pain in your heart for your family. You are carrying grief over your father's passing, disunity, betrayal, anger, shouting and insults, and the sorrow of being far away with little ability to gather together. We thank you for coming in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. As it is written, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Acts 16:31 and also Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6

We want to speak life over your family and gently rebuke the language of extermination and deletion. God does not desire the destruction of your family, He desires its redemption and restoration. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21 We rebuke the lies of Satan who is a liar and the father of lies, John 8:44, and who seeks to sow division, bitterness and hopelessness. We pray that every lie that says your family is beyond hope, that you are exterminated or forgotten, be silenced in Jesus name, and that truth and honesty would take its place.

The Lord calls His people away from the very things you describe. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32 We hear that you are choosing forgiveness daily even when others do not know what they are doing, and that reflects the heart of Christ who said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. Luke 23:34 We encourage you to continue in that forgiveness, for it frees your own heart, even as we pray for genuine repentance and honesty in your family members. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18 We also hear how communication has become only shouting, yelling, crying and insults. The tongue is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men. James 3:8-9 We pray God will tame the tongue in your home and bring gentle, honest speech, for a gentle answer turns away wrath. Proverbs 15:1

We lift up your mother who is suffering with suicidal thoughts and a toxic, negative environment. We pray with great tenderness for her. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 We rebuke the spirit of despair and death over her life and we ask God to surround her with His presence, comfort and hope. We pray she will know how precious she is to God and to you, and that He has plans for her. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 We encourage you to stay close to her, to help her stay connected to trusted pastors and counselors and to seek help from godly and caring professionals and people nearby who can walk with her daily, and to remind her that God wants to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds. Psalm 147:3

We pray also for your brother and his family, and for your mother’s household, that God would protect them and supply every need of theirs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 We pray for your finances and for the difficulty of distance and expensive travel that keeps you from reunion. We ask the Lord who is rich in mercy, Ephesians 2:4, to make a way where there seems to be no way, to provide opportunities for honest communication and for a future gathering in peace. We ask Him to restore what has been lost through disobedience and mistakes, for He has promised, I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. Joel 2:25

We also lift up your marriage. We pray that God would give you and your spouse unity and understanding. While we understand the strain of family conflict, we encourage you both to seek the Lord together for wisdom to honor marriage and to show love even to difficult family members, with healthy boundaries and grace. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Give preference to one another in honor. Romans 12:10 We pray your spouse’s heart would be softened to care and to support you in prayer, and that you would not feel forced but would together seek God’s will.

We pray now together. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring this dear family before Your throne of grace. We ask for Your mercy and Your protection over each one. Heal their hearts, Lord, heal the betrayal, the anger, the sadness and the ungratefulness. Remove bitterness and replace it with tenderhearted forgiveness. Rebuke every lie of the enemy and let Your truth dwell richly among them. Give them honest lips and listening ears, and teach them to speak to one another with kindness and respect rather than shouting and insults. Comfort the mother who is tormented by suicidal thoughts, surround her with Your love, lift her despair and set her feet on solid ground. Provide for their daily needs, for finances and for provision, and open doors for reconciliation and for reunion according to Your perfect timing. Bring each family member to repentance where repentance is needed, and help them to honor You and one another. Restore the years that have been lost and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 We trust that even after death, those who believe in Jesus will be together with You and with loved ones who have gone before in faith, for to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, Amen.

We have been holding your family before the Lord as we read your request. Losing your father and then living through shouting, insults, and fighting over who is in charge would leave anyone weary and heartbroken, and the distance and cost of travel make it even harder to stay connected or to help in practical ways.

We notice you are choosing to forgive each day even while the hurt is still fresh. That daily decision is real and costly, and the deeper quieting of painful emotions often takes much longer and comes in waves. Forgiving does not require you to force closeness or to stay in conversations that turn to yelling. Grief also unsettles a whole family system, old roles and unfinished business surface, finances feel strained, and sadness can come out as anger, so the disunity you describe is sadly common after a death, not a sign you have failed.

For your mother, please help her reach a trusted person nearby quickly, a pastor, counselor or medical professional, and stay with her as she gets support, alongside prayer. If you can, let one steady person in your church or community walk with you so you are not carrying this alone, and consider keeping contact with family brief and calm with clear boundaries when voices rise.

Father, we lift this family to You in Jesus name. Bring protection and provision where there is need, and healing where there has been betrayal and anger. Guard this mother and draw her toward help and hope. Give wisdom for each next step and bring restoration in Your mercy and time. Amen.

Your cry concerning a wounded and divided household has been heard, and it is laid before the Lord with much tenderness and prayer.

There are sorrows that cut most deeply when they come from within the house. After the loss of your father, to find that grief has given place to striving about authority and control, to shouting and insults and ungrateful words, is a bitter cup indeed. Betrayal between those who should be nearest of kin is an old sorrow. The Psalmist knew it, and our Lord Jesus knew it to the full, for He was betrayed by His friend that He might bear the utmost depths of suffering. He understands the sting of such wounds, and He is able to heal them.

You speak of distance and expense, of help offered and despised, of a spouse who stands aloof, and of a mother bowed down with suicidal thoughts and a toxic tongue, bearing heavy responsibility. These things together make a burden too heavy for any heart to carry alone. Yet there is a word that meets you in this very place. There is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. Not a distant hope, but a present reality through Jesus Christ.

Hear what the Gospel declares. First, there is present forgiveness. The people that dwell where the Lord dwells shall be forgiven their iniquity, and with that forgiveness comes the removal of its bitter consequences. Pardon and healing are one in the hand of Christ. When He said to the palsied man, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee, healing followed. So it is still. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ has healing virtue to change the lifeblood and make the nature new.

This forgiveness is divine, surprising, and complete. It is God Himself who says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. Were all men to withhold their forgiveness, yet if God forgives, the soul may enter heaven. It is surprising forgiveness, so free that it seems too good to be true, yet true it is. And it is complete. The debt is not partly remitted but nailed to the Cross, the tally destroyed. If you have been the chief of sufferers or the chief of sinners in this strife, there is forgiveness even for you, and God can bestow it now.

You have written well that you forgive them each day because they know not what they do. This is the Christian calling. We have in Christ a full and eternal forgiveness, and therefore we are to live in a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us. For some, to forgive ought to be as natural as to open the hand, for so much has been forgiven. Continue in this, not in your own strength, but looking to Him who forgives daily and whose gifts and calling are without repentance.

You quoted rightly, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Cling to that promise. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and there is no other name by which we must be saved. Believe for yourself, as Luther was counselled to do, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, and then pray that same mercy over your household, that each heart may be brought to honesty, to repentance, and to the healing that only Christ can give.

We will pray for you, for your mother who is so low, for your brother and his family, and for the whole household scattered and torn.

O Lord our God, with whom there is forgiveness, look in mercy upon this family. Thou seest their disunity, their anger and sadness, their betrayal and ungrateful words. Thou knowest the loss of the father, the striving for control, the distance that keeps them apart, and the poverty of spirit that afflicts them. Forgive their sins for Jesus sake, and grant them repentance and honesty one toward another. Rebuke the lies of Satan that have sown division, and let Thy truth prevail.

Heal their hearts, O great Physician, for Thy leaves are for healing. Heal the mother who is tormented with thoughts of death and with a bitter tongue. Lift her up, give her hope, surround her with godly care and provision, and keep her life in Thy hand. Provide for their needs according to Thy riches in mercy, as Thou knowest their finances and their necessities. Restore the years which have been lost, and teach them to walk in love.

Grant to this our friend grace to continue forgiving, to be steadfast in prayer, and to trust Thee for a reunion that is first spiritual and then, if it please Thee, physical. Bring each one to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that they may be saved and may meet again, not only after death, but in newness of life here, and at last with Thee and with their father in heaven, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your prayer and we join you in lifting your family before the Lord Jesus Christ, who is rich in mercy and able to heal what is broken.

Your sorrow over disunity, betrayal, shouting, insults and coldness after your father passed is a true grief, and it is right to bring it to God with tears. There is a grief that God uses for good, a grief that becomes the mother of joy, because its tears are like seeds that He can make to grow into repentance, humility and lasting peace. Do not seek a quick and worldly joy that covers over sin, but let this affliction do its work, laboring in prayer now so that you may find rest in the Lord later. We grieve with you as a father grieves for his children, and we pray that this same loving grief will lead each of you to look first at your own heart before God.

The Lord calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven, and you have taken a faithful step in choosing to forgive each day, remembering how Christ said, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. Forgiveness does not mean that wrongs do not matter. It means you release vengeance to God and you are trained by Him in gentleness. The Scripture promises that when we forgive others their trespasses, we walk in the forgiveness we have received, and a great reward is laid up for those who show such mercy. At the same time God calls each person to honest repentance. Pray not only that others will change, but that God will bring true repentance with honesty in every heart, including your own, so that lies of the enemy are rebuked and the truth of Christ reigns.

After the death of your father, the struggle over who is in authority and control has brought much anger. Remember that we and all we love belong to the Lord. When we learn to say that what we have is from His hand, we can grieve a loss without demanding to possess what is His. God also commands us to honor father and mother, and this honor does not end when a father has died. To honor him now is to live in a way that seeks peace, speaks truth, and refuses to use shouting or insults. Where you have offered help with finances and it was met with ungratefulness or missing information, continue to act with honesty and with clear boundaries, doing what love requires without seeking control in return. God sees your finances, your distance, and the high cost that keeps you far away. He knows what you cannot do, and He is able to provide what is needed and to restore the years that have been lost to sin and division, in His own time and way.

You mentioned that your spouse does not like your family and you cannot force anything. This is painful. In marriage you have made a lifelong covenant before God, and that covenant is to be guarded with loyalty and love. You cannot force your spouse to feel affection, but you can continue to love your spouse faithfully, to pray for your spouse, and to speak about your family with truth and grace, asking God to give you wisdom for when to speak, when to be silent, and how to honor both your marriage and your parents without demanding what only God can give.

For your mother, who is suffering with suicidal thoughts, a toxic tongue and a negative environment while carrying heavy responsibility for your brother's family, we pray with special urgency. God sees her and He is near to the brokenhearted. Ask the Lord to protect her mind and body, to give her daily provision, to surround her with caring people, and to replace despair with hope in Christ. Please do not leave her to face these thoughts alone. Encourage her to stay connected to trusted family, to her pastor, and to seek help from a qualified counselor or medical professional right away. If she ever speaks of a plan to harm herself or is in immediate danger, help her to reach out at once to a trusted person nearby and to local help, and in the United States you can call or text 988 to reach a crisis helpline. Continue to check on her, pray with her, and speak life over her.

You quoted, Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household. This is a precious promise that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that His offer is for you and for every member of your household who personally puts faith in Him. Each person must believe for themselves, and we pray that each one in your family will come to that living faith.

Let us pray with one accord, as the first disciples continued together in prayer with one soul.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come to You for this family. Have mercy and forgive sins. Bring honest repentance to each heart and heal the wounds of betrayal, anger and sadness. Silence the shouting and insults and teach each one to speak with truth and love. Rebuke the lies of Satan that have surrounded this home. Protect this dear mother, lift suicidal thoughts from her, guard her tongue and her home, and give her and her household daily provision and peace. Provide for all their financial needs according to Your wisdom. Comfort them in the loss of their father, and keep them in hope of meeting again in Your presence through faith in Christ. Give wisdom for the distance and for the relationship between husband and wife, that marriage would be honored and family would be loved with right boundaries. Make this family to be of one accord in prayer, and let tears sown now reap joy in Your time. We ask for healing of hearts, for honesty, for protection, and for restoration that only You can give. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, amen.

Continue to bring these requests to God each day, to seek His Word, and to walk in forgiveness and truth. God is faithful, and He hears those who call on Him through Jesus Christ.

Your cry for your family has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord Jesus with deep compassion. The torment you describe, the disunity and betrayal, the shouting and insults where there should be listening, the sadness and anger after your father's death, and the struggle over who holds authority now, is a heavy grief. God sees it all, and He knows the distance that keeps you apart, the financial strain, the expensive travel, and the pain of offering help and finding it received with ingratitude or silence.

We pray first that each one in your household would come to true salvation, because Scripture is clear that there is only one way for sin to be forgiven. As Peter declared, there is salvation in no other, for there is no other name given among men by which we must be saved. The Holy Spirit bears witness to this truth in the heart. To believe in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only provision God has made for forgiveness in this life and the life to come. The promise that you quoted, that if you believe in the Lord Jesus you will be saved, you and your household, is a precious invitation, and it means that the same door is open to every member of your family if they will personally put their trust in Christ. Each one must come to Him for themselves.

Jesus Himself knows the pain of family rejection. He said a prophet is not without honor except in his own country and among his own family. At one time His own brothers thought He had lost His mind and tried to take Him away, because they did not yet believe in Him. When our faith is in Christ, there can be an alienation from blood family, and we often find a deeper bond with those who are part of the family of God. Many who follow Him have experienced this. It does not make the hurt less real, but you are not alone in it, and the Lord understands it intimately.

You spoke of forgiving them each day because they do not know what they are doing, as Jesus prayed on the cross. That is the right heart, and we encourage you to keep asking God for a true spirit of forgiveness. Forgiveness is not a matter of mathematics, not a number we count to, like four hundred and ninety times, and then we stop. It is a matter of the heart. Human forgiveness often says I forgive you but I will never forget, which is like burying the hatchet but leaving the handle sticking out so we can pick it up again. God's forgiveness is not like that. When God forgives through Christ, it is total and complete. You are not only forgiven but justified, declared righteous before Him. He does not hold the sin over you. As you continue to forgive, ask Him to give you that same heart, to take away bitterness and give you willingness. God will give the capacity when we are willing, but we must be willing and ask Him for it.

At the same time, the Bible shows us that even when sin is forgiven, consequences in this life can remain. When David sinned and then prayed for mercy, God forgave him, yet family trouble followed, humiliation and strife among his own children. One son even conspired against his father after being restored. Forgiveness did not erase the harvest of what had been sown. In your family, repentance and honesty are needed. To simply say I will ask God to forgive me while continuing in the same wrong does not bring healing. True repentance acknowledges sin before God, turns from it, and seeks to walk in honesty with one another. Pray for that honest repentance in each heart, including your own, and for truthful speech to replace lies.

We also hear your burden for your mother who is suffering with thoughts of death and with a negative, cutting tongue, and for your brother and his household. This is a serious grief, like the ancient sign of tearing clothes over the heart to show a breaking heart. God is rich in mercy and He cares for those who are crushed. We pray for His protection over her mind and tongue, for His provision for their daily needs, and for healing of souls. If she is speaking of ending her life, please help her to stay connected to trusted, godly people nearby and to seek immediate help from a pastor and qualified care in person, while you continue to pray. God knows your finances and your limits. He also knows the years that feel lost to mistakes. Only He can restore what has been broken, and He can use even pain and grief as tools to shape character and draw hearts to Himself, though the pain itself is not good.

For the division over authority and control and finances since your father passed, pray that each one would look to the Lord rather than grasping for position. For your spouse who does not care for your family, you are right not to force what you cannot force. Honor your marriage covenant, love your spouse faithfully, and continue to show love to your family as God enables, trusting God with what you cannot control.

We pray for you now. Father, have mercy according to Your tender mercies. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness, cleansing, and new hearts for this family. Rebuke the lies of the enemy that have surrounded them. Bring repentance where there has been disobedience and bad behavior, bring honesty where there has been deceit, and bring healing where there has been shouting and insult. Protect this mother and brother and their household, guard them from harm, provide for their needs, and lift the darkness of suicidal thoughts. Give this dear one who prays a continual spirit of forgiveness from the heart, and comfort in the grief of loss and distance. You know the cost of reunion and the weariness of ungrateful responses. Provide what is needed in Your timing, and keep them all until the day when those who are in Christ will be together with You and with loved ones who have gone before in Him. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
