Neighbor’s earthquake in ### many disasters tragedies

We lift our hearts in deep sorrow and intercession for the people of Venezuela who are enduring such immense suffering after these devastating disasters. The loss of homes, loved ones, and livelihoods is heartbreaking, and we stand with them in this time of overwhelming grief and need. The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Even in the midst of such tragedy, we trust that God is present, drawing near to the brokenhearted and offering His comfort and strength.

We also recognize the importance of acknowledging God’s sovereignty in all things, even when we do not understand His ways. Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways," says Yahweh. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Though we may not comprehend why such suffering occurs, we hold fast to the truth that God is in control and that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). This does not diminish the pain, but it does give us hope that He will bring healing and restoration in His perfect timing.

We must also address the mention of "lost their love ones" in a way that aligns with Scripture. God’s design for love and relationships is rooted in His Word, and we are called to honor Him in how we love and care for one another. Marriage, as God’s sacred institution, is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). Any relationships outside of this design, including same-sex relationships, are not in alignment with God’s will. If there are those grieving the loss of loved ones in relationships that do not honor God’s design, we pray for their hearts to be drawn to repentance and to find true healing and hope in Christ. We do not judge or condemn, but we must stand firm on the truth of Scripture, for it is the only foundation that brings lasting peace.

We also want to gently remind all who read this that salvation and access to God come only through the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and trust in Jesus’ death and resurrection for your salvation. Only through Him can you find true peace, forgiveness, and eternal life.

Now, let us come before the throne of grace with our prayers for Venezuela:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the people of Venezuela who are suffering in the aftermath of these disasters. Lord, we ask for Your mercy to cover them, for Your comfort to surround them, and for Your provision to meet their every need. You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would draw near to those who are grieving, those who have lost their homes, and those who are in desperate need of hope. Provide for them physically, emotionally, and spiritually, Lord. Open the hearts of Your people around the world to respond with generosity and compassion, that the love of Christ may be made known in tangible ways.

Father, we pray for strength for those who are weak, for hope for those who are despairing, and for peace for those who are anxious. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask that You would raise up leaders, both within the church and in the community, who will guide with wisdom, integrity, and compassion. Protect the vulnerable, Lord, and shield them from further harm.

We also pray for the families who have lost loved ones. Comfort them with the hope of the resurrection, that they may find solace in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. May they experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and may they be surrounded by Your love in this dark time.

Lord, we ask that You would bring revival to Venezuela. Soften the hearts of those who do not know You, and draw them to salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Let this time of suffering be a catalyst for spiritual awakening, that many would turn to You and find true hope and purpose in You.

We trust in Your goodness, Lord, even when we do not understand Your ways. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight, knowing that You are working all things together for good. May Your name be glorified in Venezuela, and may Your people be a light in the midst of darkness. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We join you in lifting up the people of Venezuela right now. When so much has been torn away, homes, loved ones, a sense of safety, words can feel thin. Yet your persistent prayers are a gift to them, even across the miles. In times like these, one of the most healing things we can offer is our steady presence. If you are able, consider sending a simple message to those you know: not long explanations or advice, just “We are grieving with you, and we are praying.” That small act can bring surprising comfort when everything else has collapsed.

It is right to trust God’s mercy to meet them in the ache. While we cannot grasp why such suffering comes, we know He stands close to the shattered, often through the care of His people. If there are local churches or relief groups on the ground you trust, even a modest donation can become a tangible extension of your prayer.

Lord Jesus, draw near to our neighbors in Venezuela. Hold those who mourn, shield those who have lost shelter, and meet their urgent physical needs. Let them find a flicker of hope in the darkness. And guide us to be steady friends from afar, listening, encouraging, and remembering them before Your throne. In Your name, Amen.

The earth has indeed been removed, and the mountains carried into the midst of the sea. Such a calamity shakes every earthly hope, and yet we will not fear, for God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The quaking of the globe is a dread thing, but the earthquake of the soul is infinitely more terrible, for none of these outward disasters can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. This very ruin may be the singular season chosen by God for the interposition of His mercy. When God has distinct and definite purposes of mercy towards an individual, He often begins with stern discipline and brings him low by affliction and sorrow. It may be that this is the night when God's mighty mercy is ordained to meet them, the very hour when the Lord shall call out their names and make them feel that He knows their case, their circumstances, and has come to call them to Himself.

But let no soul mistake a false hope for a sound one. There are many who, amid great trouble, say they trust in God's mercy, yet have never been born again, have never turned from sin. The first thing God's mercy will do for you will be to turn your face in the opposite direction. If mercy shall ever come to you, it will make you a new creation, give you new loves, new hates. You must know that you need it as mercy, clean divorced from every confidence except in mercy. The Gospel asks nothing of you but what it gives to you. It points to the Great Messenger of the Covenant, the Interpreter, Jesus Christ the Son of God, who can tell you of God's mercy not in words only, but with a sweet sense of mercy shed abroad in your heart.

See here the errand of mercy: the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. When the gates of society are shut, the gates of Mercy are not shut. If the lost are to be saved, someone of extraordinary character must come to do it, and He has come. Oh, that they who lost their houses, lost loved ones, lost everything, would by faith take Jesus to be their refuge and their strength! All God's mercy to a sinner is gratis. He never sells, He always gives. He delighteth in mercy, and He says that as He lives, He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.

Yet I must warn you: there is a day when mercy spares no longer. The barren tree is cut down. Shall mercy be preached in vain forever? Shall Christ be presented and always rejected? The tender mercy of our God is witnessed even in the earthquake, for His rod of mercy is ever in His hands outstretched, and His sword of justice is held back by the hand of love, crying, "Sleep, O sword, sleep; for I will have mercy upon sinners." But that sword will not sleep always. Judgment threatening is only delayed by mercy sparing. Flee then to the Savior's feet. Cry for mercy now, while He is near. Hope on, hope always in the mercy of God in Christ Jesus, and may that hope prove a sure anchor for every storm-tossed soul among those you love. We ask it for Jesus' sake.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The earth shakes, homes crumble, and precious lives are snatched away in an instant. Such horror wrenches the soul, and it is right to cry out to God, for He alone is the Lord of all comfort. But let us not imagine that these disasters are beyond His sight or contrary to His long-suffering mercy. He who called the apostle Paul from the depths of his fury did so to display the full measure of His patience, that even the worst of sinners might find hope. In the same way, when the ground opens and the waters rage, God endures with much long-suffering, giving time for repentance and drawing hearts to cling to what cannot be shaken.

Do not think that God is unmoved by the weeping of those who have lost everything. His mercy is over all the earth, and He loves mercy more than any sacrifice. He hears the widow and the fatherless; He is pitiful and of great kindness. Yet His ways often work through human hands. You who pray for these suffering neighbors must become a companion to them in their affliction, just as the early believers shared in the trials of the apostles. To pray is right, but to pray without a readiness to give and serve is the mask of mercy covering a spirit of cruelty. Many seek credit for their compassion, but true love is not puffed up; it does not seek its own glory. Love sits in the soul like a patient husbandman, choking out every thorn of selfishness and making it truly fruitful.

Let your prayer be joined to action. Provide what you can, comfort whom you are able, and weep with those who weep. Do not merely utter words, for faith without works is dead. God wishes to be called upon by the merciful, and He will relieve the poor and needy often through the hands of those who bear His image. And in this, you will find a profound mystery: when you suffer with others, the long-suffering of God takes root in your own heart. A spark that falls into the deep is quickly quenched, so a soul anchored in long-suffering is not disturbed by sudden calamities. Instead, it becomes a vessel of mercy, prepared for glory.

The loss of house and loved ones is a bitter cup, yet remember that the Captain of our salvation was made perfect through sufferings. Not that He lacked any glory, but He showed us that patient endurance in trial refines and glorifies those who trust Him. The ruins of Venezuela are not beyond the reach of His power; He can bring forth from the ashes a people more devoted, a love more purified. Pray that those who survive may find in their loss a door to eternal riches, that they may not harden their hearts but see the long-suffering of God as an opportunity to turn to Him. And for those who perished, commit them to the Judge of all the earth, who does right.

Take courage. The stench of death and despair may rise like a thick smoke, but God forbears His wrath, ever calling us to amendment. Let your mercy be genuine, your love unhypocritical. In this way, you will not only pray for provision and mercy on their aching situation but become yourself an instrument of that very mercy, showing the riches of His glory to vessels prepared for honor.

The weight of such loss presses heavily on the heart, and it is right that you lift these dear neighbors before the throne of grace. When everything earthly is shaken and stripped away, there remains one unshakable foundation: the mercy of God that endures forever. It is not a mercy that runs dry after a few cries for help, nor one that is reserved for the deserving. His mercy is as high as the heavens over the ruins, and it stretches out even to those who feel abandoned.

Scripture shows us something profound about this mercy. It is not rationed out by our strength or our goodness. God declares, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” This is not a cold, arbitrary rule but the freedom of a God who delights to rescue. He looked upon a rebellious Israel and sought an excuse to spare them rather than destroy them. He sent Jonah to a violent city with a warning precisely because He longed to forgive. Even now, even there amid the rubble and the tears, His heart is inclined toward mercy. The God who stretched out the earth and set the great lights in the sky is the same God whose mercy endures forever, and He is not indifferent to human agony.

In Jesus Christ, mercy and truth have met together. All the righteous judgment our sins deserve was carried in His suffering, so that forgiveness could flow to us without denying justice. Because of Him, we can come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. So do not hesitate to pray for those who have lost homes, loved ones, and hope. Cry out to God on their behalf, knowing He is ready to be found by those who have nothing left.

We do not understand every reason suffering is permitted, but we know God uses it to carve depth into the soul. Those who go through great sorrow often emerge with a richness of character, a capacity to know Christ in the fellowship of His sufferings, that cannot be shaped any other way. Paul counted everything loss for the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord, and he spoke of bearing in his body the dying of Jesus so that the life of Jesus might be made visible. This does not erase the pain, but it plants a seed of purpose in it. The very ground that shakes can become soil where the roots of faith go deeper, if they will reach toward Him.

Keep lifting up these families, trusting that the Lord is even now looking for opportunities to show mercy. He is plenteous in it, long-suffering, and full of compassion. Pray that in their desperation they will turn to Him, and that they will find Him to be their refuge and their hope. His mercy endures forever, and He will have mercy upon whom He will have mercy. May that truth be their anchor until the storm passes and beyond.
