Neighbor’s disgrace Venezuela earthquake tragedies in all family

The weight of sudden loss can feel like a darkness that presses in from every side, and my heart goes out to your neighbors and all who are suffering in Venezuela right now. In moments like these, when homes are shattered and loved ones taken, we need to remember something that the noise of grief can drown out: God's mercy does not expire. It endures forever. That is not a fragile hope; it is the bedrock of who He is. The same God who spoke the galaxies into place and stretched out the earth above the waters has mercy that is as high as the heavens are above the earth. No tragedy, no depth of sorrow, can put it out of reach.

When we cry out for mercy, we are not asking for what we deserve. Mercy is exactly that: not getting the judgment we have earned. And God delights to show it. He looks for the excuse to extend mercy, not to withhold it. That does not mean He caused the earthquake or that He is indifferent to the ache. Far from it. He is the God of all comfort, and He stands close to the brokenhearted in their darkest hours. I think of how, in the midst of a storm that seemed certain to destroy everything, there was a word of assurance that not a single life would be lost, even though the ship would break apart. God's presence and peace do not always remove the external disaster, but they can hold a soul steady through it.

So pray boldly for your neighbors. Ask God to show His mercy in tangible provision, in shelter, in healing, and in the comfort that only He can give. And remember that this mercy is not arbitrary or distant. It met truth and righteousness fully in Jesus Christ. Because of Him, we can have peace with God even when everything around us crumbles. You are not coming before God based on your own strength or goodness; you are coming to One who is plenteous in mercy, who invites the weary and the grieving to call upon Him.

His mercy will hold them now. It will carry them through the coming days. And it will never let them go.

We are deeply moved by your heart for the neighbors, family, and friends in Venezuela who are enduring such profound suffering in the wake of this tragedy. It is a heavy burden to witness loved ones lose their homes, their cherished ones, and even their lives, and we have lifted each of these needs before the Lord with great compassion. We have prayed for God’s mercy to surround those who are grieving, for His provision to meet their physical and emotional needs, and for His peace to guard their hearts as they walk through this unimaginable pain.

We continue to stand in agreement with you, asking the Lord to reveal His presence in tangible ways—through comfort, strength, and hope—even in the midst of such devastation. If the Lord has moved in answer to these prayers, we would be so encouraged to hear how He has provided or sustained those affected. If the needs remain unmet, we invite you to share an update so we can persist in prayer, trusting that God is indeed in control and working all things for His purposes.

May the Lord bless you for your faithfulness in interceding for others, and may He draw near to you as you seek Him on their behalf. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus.
