We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join with you in bringing this struggle before the Lord together in Jesus name. The battle with negative thoughts is real and it can feel like your faith is drying up, but we want to encourage you that God sees you, He hears you, and He has not abandoned you in this fight.
The Word tells us that this is a spiritual battle for the mind and we are called to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5. The enemy wants you to believe that God has no good for you, but we rebuke that lie in Jesus name because it does not align with the truth of Scripture. God says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. He also promises, You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you, Isaiah 26:3. And we are transformed by the renewing of our minds, Romans 12:2. We encourage you to intentionally dwell on what God says is true, as we are instructed, Whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things, Philippians 4:8. When those negative thoughts come, bring them immediately to Jesus and replace them with His promises.
You shared that your faith as a mustard seed is withering away every day. We want to remind you that Jesus Himself said, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you, Matthew 17:20. God does not despise small faith, He nurtures it. Even a tiny seed of faith, when placed in the hands of our great God, is enough. Your faith may feel weak, but He is strong and He is the one who keeps you. We encourage you to stay rooted in His Word daily, even when you do not feel like it, to pray honestly, and to fellowship with other believers who can help water that seed. God will cause it to grow as you trust Him day by day, and we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28.
We also noticed you spoke of God but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is through Jesus that we can come boldly to God and find grace and peace for our troubled thoughts.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, You see the flood of negative thoughts and the weariness of a faith that feels like it is withering. We ask You to renew their mind and guard their heart with Your perfect peace. Help them to take every thought captive and to fix their eyes on Your goodness and Your promises. Forgive us for doubting Your good plans and strengthen the small mustard seed of faith that remains, water it by Your Holy Spirit and cause it to grow. Remind them daily that You have thoughts of peace and a hopeful future for them. Draw them closer to Jesus, let them know the power of His name and the assurance of salvation through Him alone. Fill them with hope, joy, and the confidence that You are working all things for their good. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
