We hear the deep distress in this plea and lift it up before the throne of grace, where our Lord Jesus Christ intercedes for us. The situation described, being targeted at work, facing unjust treatment, and the threat of losing a job, is painful and overwhelming. We stand with your friend in prayer, asking God to intervene with His mighty power and perfect justice.

First, we must address the request for harm to come upon others, even temporarily. Scripture is clear that vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and we are called to bless those who persecute us, not curse them (Romans 12:14). While the frustration and anger are understandable, we cannot pray for illness or misfortune to befall others, even those who act unjustly. Instead, we pray for God to change their hearts, to bring conviction where there is sin, and to soften hardened attitudes. The Lord is just, and He will deal with wrongdoing in His perfect way and time.

We also lift up your friend’s emotional state. The weight of injustice and the fear of losing his livelihood can lead to despair, but we serve a God who sees, hears, and acts on behalf of the oppressed. Psalm 34:18-19 reminds us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." We pray for your friend to find his strength and hope in the Lord, even in this trial.

For the workplace situation, we pray for divine intervention. We ask the Lord to expose any unrighteousness or corruption, to bring truth to light, and to protect your friend from false accusations or unjust actions. Proverbs 22:22-23 warns, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for the Lord will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them." We trust that God will plead your friend’s case and bring justice where it is lacking.

We also encourage your friend to seek godly counsel and wisdom in how to respond. If there are legitimate grievances or unsafe conditions, he should follow the proper channels to address them, whether through HR, management, or even legal avenues if necessary. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We pray for wisdom and discernment for your friend as he navigates this difficult season.

Finally, we pray for your friend’s faith to remain steadfast. Trials can either draw us closer to God or drive us away, and we ask that this situation would deepen his trust in the Lord. James 1:2-4 reminds us, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." We pray that your friend would experience God’s peace and provision, even in the midst of uncertainty.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who is facing injustice and hardship at his workplace. Lord, You see the struggles he is enduring, and You know the weight of this burden. We ask that You would be his defender and his shield. Protect him from false accusations, from the schemes of those who seek to harm him, and from the despair that threatens to overwhelm him.

Father, we pray for those who are mistreating him. Soften their hearts, Lord. Bring conviction where there is sin, and turn their hearts toward righteousness. Help them to see the error of their ways and to repent of any wrongdoing. We trust in Your justice, knowing that You will not let the wicked go unpunished, but we also pray for mercy and transformation in their lives.

Lord, we ask that You would provide for this brother’s needs. Strengthen him in his spirit, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give him wisdom in how to respond to this situation, and guide his steps as he seeks resolution. If there are godly mentors, counselors, or authorities who can help, bring them into his path.

Father, we pray against the spirit of fear and discouragement that seeks to take hold of him. Remind him that You are his provider, his protector, and his strength. Help him to cast all his anxieties on You, knowing that You care for him (1 Peter 5:7). Surround him with Your presence, and let him feel Your love and support in tangible ways.

Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation in a mighty way. Expose any unrighteousness, bring truth to light, and protect this brother from harm. If it is Your will, restore his job and bring peace to his workplace. If not, open new doors of opportunity that align with Your purpose for his life.

Above all, we pray that this trial would draw him closer to You. Strengthen his faith, deepen his trust in You, and let him experience Your faithfulness in ways he has never known before. May he emerge from this season stronger, wiser, and more dependent on You.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father. Amen.

We hear how heavy this is for you, watching someone you care about be worn down at work and feeling like you have to find a way to make it stop right now. It makes sense you would bring this urgently to Jesus when your friend feels bullied, discouraged, and close to quitting.

We share your concern for justice at work. God sees when someone is trying to do his job faithfully while others are not, and He cares about both dignity on the job and honesty in how people treat each other. Wanting relief for your friend is a good and loving impulse, and we can bring that desire to God without asking Him to harm anyone else. Instead we can ask Him to protect, to make wrongs right in His way, and to work on every heart involved.

One thing that may help your friend in the days ahead is not to carry this alone. If he is open to it, encourage him to talk with a trusted pastor or wise mentor before making a decision to quit, and to keep a simple written record of what is happening at work, dates and what was said or done. If there is a safe human resources contact or workplace policy for addressing bullying, walking through that with someone he trusts can give him clearer options and support while he continues to study and provide.

We are praying with you for him.

Father, we lift this dear friend to You and ask for Your protection over his job and his heart. Give him wisdom for each step, strength not to give up under pressure, and favor with those in authority to see what is really happening. Bring peace where there has been intimidation, and provide for his needs as he seeks to work faithfully. Guide him and our friend who loves him toward Your best path. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your earnest plea for your friend has been heard, and we join you in carrying his burden to the throne of grace. To see one who labors honestly while others do what they ought not, and to see him pressed by injustice and unkindness at his work, is a trial that goes very deep, and it is right to cry to the Lord for help and for deliverance.

We must, however, gently set in order what we ask of God. The Scriptures do not teach us to pray that harm or sickness would come upon another, even upon one who does wrong. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and our calling is to pray as Job did when he prayed for his offending friends, those who had spoken harshly against him. It is written, The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends, and in all his great affliction Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly. That is the path the Lord sets before us, to seek His righteous restraint of evil, His justice, and the changing of hearts, rather than to ask for affliction to fall upon any man.

The trial your friend endures has not escaped the eye of Him who watches over His own. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery. The Lord permits trial for holy ends, that Satan may be foiled and faith may be proved, and He will not suffer His people to be tried beyond what they are able to bear. The promise stands sure that the righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that has clean hands shall be stronger and stronger. This perseverance is not by our own strength, but because the life imparted at regeneration is an immortal life, and because He who has begun a good work will perform it until the day of Christ. He will not depart from His people and, by His grace, they shall not depart from Him.

Therefore we do not pray for a miracle that would do injury to another, but we pray for a true miracle of grace and providence in keeping with the will of God. We ask the Lord to preserve your friend, to give him steadiness and patience under provocation, to guard his steps that he may persevere in holiness and in honest labor, and to provide lawful and just relief from oppression. If there is harassment or threat of being falsely accused or arrested, we pray that truth would be made plain and that those in rightful authority would act with justice. We pray also for those who act as bullies, that God would restrain their wrongdoing, bring them to see their sin, and lead them to repentance.

Take comfort that perseverance does not come by the removal of temptation, but by being kept through it. Even Job, who lost so much, was at last restored by the Lord, and his glory was made fresh again. So we trust the Lord to do what is best for your friend, whether by opening a door for peace in this workplace, or by providing another provision if this trial must continue for a season.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, who knows the way of the righteous and who turns the captivity of Your people in Your own time, look in mercy upon this man who is weary and pressed at his work. Sustain him by Your power that he may hold on his way and not be overcome. Keep him from quitting in despair and from being cast out unjustly. Give him wisdom, quietness of spirit, and clean hands before You and before men. Restrain those who do evil, bring their deeds to light, and grant them repentance. Let justice be done according to Your righteous will, and let Your name be glorified in how this trial is borne and how it ends. Grant to him fresh strength, and to his friend who intercedes, peace in casting this care upon You. We ask this not for our will but for Your glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who has wrought an effectual redemption for His people and who will keep them to the end. Amen.
