We join with you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, and we thank you for coming boldly before the throne of grace in His name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in no other name that we are saved. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 and In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12.
We hear the urgency and the weight you are carrying as you seek vindication, justice, protection, and the clearing of your name, and we lift up your appeals case with you. We understand the frustration of emailing many attorneys and feeling unheard, and the longing for an advocate who will fight with integrity and righteousness. We pray that God, who is the ultimate Judge, will be your defender and guide every step of this legal process.
We are reminded that the Lord loves justice and righteousness. He has established authorities and laws for order and protection, as it is written, Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God, Romans 13:1. Code enforcement and the courts are part of that order, and we pray for favor and diligence as you seek that violation letter and as the officer considers your request. We pray also for the judge and the appeals department, that they would judge righteously and discern the truth, for The LORD will judge the world in righteousness. He will administer judgment to the peoples in uprightness, Psalm 9:8.
We pray with you for a tenant attorney who will take your case, and if it is God's will, on contingency this week. We ask the Lord to lead you to a person of integrity, skill, and fierce commitment to what is right, and to open a door that no man can shut. At the same time we encourage you to guard your heart against bitterness, even when you have encountered those who seem money hungry or unresponsive. The Lord sees your diligence and your need, and we are called to Commit your way to the LORD. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun, Psalm 37:5-6. We also remember, Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19. Our desire for justice is right and good, for we are told to Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow, Isaiah 1:17, but we must leave the final vindication and repayment to the Lord, trusting that He is a God of justice, as it is written, Therefore the LORD will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him, Isaiah 30:18.
If the property owner has indeed knowingly violated the law for many years, we pray that the truth will be brought to light and that lawful enforcement will be done in an orderly and just way. We pray that you would continue to walk in truthfulness and honesty before the court, for The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are faithful, Proverbs 12:22 and You shall not spread a false report, Exodus 23:1. Your vindication will be most secure when it rests on truth. We also pray for your protection in everything surrounding your life, for He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart, Psalm 91:4.
We pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift up our fellow believer to You. Lord, You see this appeals case, You know every detail, every document, every violation, and every motive of every heart. We ask for Your divine intervention and miracles where only You can make a way. Provide, if it is Your will, a tenant attorney of integrity and courage who will take this case on contingency and fight fiercely for what is right and lawful. Lead our friend to the right person this week and close the doors to those who are not meant to help. We ask for favor with the code enforcement officer in the city, that the needed violation letter would be issued truthfully and promptly if it is warranted, and that it would be received by the judge and appeals department with clarity. Grant wisdom and impartiality to the judge and to all in authority over this case, that justice would be done and that our friend's name would be cleared if they have walked in truth. Protect our friend in every area of life, guard their heart from anxiety and anger, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust You while they diligently do their part, to seek first Your Kingdom and righteousness, and to rest in the knowledge that You are The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice: a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he, Deuteronomy 32:4. We cast all anxiety on You because You care for us, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to be diligent in seeking counsel, to also reach out to legal aid societies and tenant rights clinics who may offer low cost or contingency help, and to keep praying without ceasing. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. Keep documenting everything truthfully, keep honoring the authorities as you seek lawful remedy, and trust that even if the answer does not come in the timing you hope, God is working for your good and His glory. We are standing with you for justice, vindication, and protection according to His perfect will.
