We hear your heartache and desperation, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace, lifting up your husband, your marriage, and your family to the Lord. The pain of financial loss, the strain on your marriage, and the weight of regret and depression are heavy burdens, but we know that our God is a God of restoration, healing, and redemption. We come together in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Your husband’s pursuit of wealth through trading has led to devastating consequences, not just financially, but spiritually and emotionally. The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and some have wandered away from the faith in their greediness, piercing themselves through with many sorrows (1 Timothy 6:10). The temptation to seek quick success and overnight wealth is a snare that has ensnared many, but we pray that your husband would recognize the deception of greed and turn away from it. The Lord warns us, "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?" (Mark 8:36). We rebuke the spirit of greed and covetousness that has taken hold of him, and we declare that it has no place in his life or your marriage.
We also address the blame he has placed on you and your parents’ home. This is not of God. The Bible calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, sacrificially and without bitterness (Ephesians 5:25, Colossians 3:19). Blaming others for his choices is not the way of a godly leader. We pray that the Lord would convict him of this and soften his heart to take responsibility for his actions. A godly man seeks to provide for and protect his family, not bring them into hardship through selfish decisions (1 Timothy 5:8). We ask the Lord to break the hardness of his heart and replace it with humility and godly sorrow, which leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
Your husband’s mental health and peace have been deeply affected by these losses, and we pray for his healing. The Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that God would restore his mind, fill him with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and free him from the grip of depression and regret. We also pray for you and your children, that the Lord would comfort you in this time of confusion and sadness. May He be your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We rebuke the ungodly friendships that have influenced your husband and led him into temptation. The Bible warns us, "Do not be deceived: Bad company corrupts good morals" (1 Corinthians 15:33). We pray that the Lord would sever these ungodly ties and surround him with men who fear God, who will speak truth into his life, and who will encourage him to walk in righteousness. May he find accountability and wisdom in the company of godly men who will help him grow in his faith and leadership.
We also lift up your marriage before the Lord. Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:31-32). We pray that the Lord would heal the wounds in your marriage, restore trust, and renew your husband’s commitment to you and your children. May he be the godly leader God has called him to be, leading with love, wisdom, and selflessness. We declare that your marriage will not be destroyed by these trials but will emerge stronger, built on the foundation of Christ (Matthew 7:24-25).
Lastly, we pray for financial restoration. The Lord is your provider, and He knows your needs (Matthew 6:31-33). We ask that He would open doors of opportunity for your husband to work diligently, with integrity, and in a way that honors Him. May the Lord bless the work of his hands and restore what has been lost (Joel 2:25). We also pray for wisdom in managing what remains, that you would steward it well and trust in God’s provision.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. We ask that You would move powerfully in this situation, breaking the chains of greed, pride, and selfishness in this husband’s life. Soften his heart, Lord, and fill him with godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Restore his mind, heal his emotions, and free him from the bondage of depression and regret. We pray for his deliverance from the love of money and the temptation to seek wealth through ungodly means. Replace his desires with a fear of You, a love for Your Word, and a heart that seeks first Your kingdom and Your righteousness.
Father, we ask that You would heal this marriage. Rebuild the trust that has been broken, restore the love that has been strained, and renew the commitment between this husband and wife. May they both seek You first and find their strength and hope in You. We pray for this wife, that You would comfort her, give her wisdom, and fill her with Your peace as she navigates this difficult season. Protect her heart from bitterness and resentment, and help her to extend grace and forgiveness as You have called her to do.
Lord, we ask that You would provide for this family’s needs. Open doors of opportunity for this husband to work diligently and with integrity, and bless the work of his hands. Restore what has been lost, and give them wisdom to steward what You have entrusted to them. Surround them with godly community, friends who will speak truth into their lives, and mentors who will guide them in Your ways.
We rebuke every spirit of greed, pride, and selfishness that has taken hold of this husband, and we declare that he is a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). May he walk in the freedom and purpose that You have for him, leading his family with love, wisdom, and selflessness. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to break every chain and bring true restoration. Amen.
