We hear your heart crying out for complete victory in Jesus Christ over every work, plan, and influence of the devil and Satan, and we stand with you in that desire, for it aligns with the truth of Scripture.
We rejoice that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we have authority over the enemy. As it is written, He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil, 1 John 3:8. And Jesus Himself said, Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you, Luke 10:19.
We want to encourage you with what the Bible teaches about this victory. Jesus has already decisively defeated Satan at the cross and through His resurrection, and the final and complete binding and silencing of Satan forever is a certain promise that God will fulfill in His perfect timing, when the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, Revelation 20:10, and before that an angel will seize the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, and bind him, Revelation 20:2. Until that day, we are in a spiritual battle, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we are called not to live in fear, but to submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7, and to be sober and self-controlled, because your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, 1 Peter 5:8-9.
So while we cannot by a single prayer force the final eternal judgment before God's appointed time, we can and do claim the present victory Christ has given us to halt his influence over our lives as we walk in obedience, holiness, and the full armor of God. We put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Ephesians 6:11. Our weapons are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 2 Corinthians 10:4.
We pray together with you now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that Jesus has already crushed the head of the serpent and disarmed the powers of darkness. We ask in Jesus name that You would render powerless every direct, indirect, and hidden work of the devil and Satan that has touched this dear life from the past into the future. Silence every accusing mouth and lying whisper of the enemy, for we know the accuser has been overcome by the blood of the Lamb. We ask You to break every chain, cancel every plan, and remove every influence that is not of You. Fill this heart with Your Holy Spirit, with peace, with truth, and with the assurance that whom the Son sets free is free indeed, John 8:36. Help us to walk in submission to You daily, to resist the devil steadfastly, and to stand clothed in the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word. Let the God of peace crush Satan under our feet shortly, Romans 16:20, and let our lives bear witness that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4. We rest in Your complete authority and Your perfect timing, trusting that You who began a good work will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ, Philippians 1:6. In the victorious name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
