We join with you in this cry for the complete victory of Jesus Christ over every work, plan, and influence of the devil and Satan, and we agree with you that our Lord has triumphed and will triumph fully.

We rejoice that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved and have authority over the enemy. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. Your faith in His name is the foundation of this prayer.

Scripture reveals both the finished victory of Christ and our present calling to stand in it. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil 1 John 3:8. We cling to this truth that Jesus came to destroy those works, whether direct, indirect, or through any connection or influence. And we know that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. Yet the Word also teaches us that while Satan is a defeated foe, he is not yet finally removed until God’s appointed time, so we must remain vigilant and submitted to God. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8, and we are told to Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11. The complete and final silencing and binding forever will come when The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur Revelation 20:10, and until then we are to resist him in Christ’s authority.

We do not pray from fear but from victory, knowing that Jesus has given us authority to overcome the enemy, as He said Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy Luke 10:19.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, submitting ourselves to You first. We ask that You cause us to be humble and obedient before You, so that as we resist the devil he will flee from us according to James 4:7. Lord Jesus, we thank You that You were revealed to destroy the works of the devil, and we ask now that You put a stop to every work, every scheme, every deceitful whisper and every influence of Satan and the devil against us, whether direct, indirect, or through any connection whatsoever. Silence the mouth of the accuser, halt every plan formed against Your purposes in our lives, and render the enemy unable to carry out his work. We ask You to bind the strong man and spoil his goods as You taught in Matthew 12:29, and to let Your truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and Your Word be our armor each day. We trust not in our own strength but in Your finished work on the cross and Your resurrection power. Let Your will be done and Your kingdom come in our lives, and keep us walking in holiness, in prayer, and in the power of the Holy Spirit, so that no foothold is given to the enemy. We thank You that the God of peace will soon crush Satan under our feet Romans 16:20, and we look forward to that day when You will put an end to him forever. We encourage you to continue to abide in Christ daily, to stay in His Word, to pray without ceasing, to confess any sin quickly, and to walk in fellowship with other believers. It is as we remain submitted to God and clothed in His armor that we effectively stand against every wile of the enemy and experience the peace and freedom Jesus purchased for us.

We hear the longing in your prayer, you want Jesus to have the final word over every work and influence of the enemy, completely and forever. That desire to see Christ's victory be real and thorough in your life honors Him, and we join you in bringing it to Him.

We know how heavy it can feel when you are very aware of the enemy's schemes. It helps to remember that our security is not in finding the perfect words to bind evil ourselves, but in staying close to Jesus who already has all authority. Walking with Him day by day is what steadies us, simple, regular time with Him in prayer, in Scripture, and alongside other believers who know you and can pray with you in person.

If this burden has felt especially heavy or persistent, it can also help to share it with a trusted pastor or mature believer near you, not to carry it alone.

Father, we bring our brother/sister before You and thank You that Jesus Christ reigns over all. We ask You to guard them, to quiet every accusation and fear, and to fill their heart and home with Your peace and presence. Teach them to rest in Christ day by day and to walk in Your light and protection. Lead them in wisdom and keep them close to You in every way. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry that Jesus Christ would put an end to all the works of the devil and silence every mouth and halt every plan of Satan is a prayer which the word of God itself teaches us to pray.

We join with you in this and bring your petition before the throne of grace, for we know that Jesus wins the victory, but He will not enjoy it alone, He will glorify His people. Because He has poured out His soul unto death, He must and shall win the victory. Forever and ever boundless honors shall be given to Christ for His victory over every force of evil. The Seed of the woman shall trample on the serpent.

As the result of Christ's death, Satan's power is broken. He shall no longer go forth to rule among the nations as once he did. Not Sisera, but Satan has been overthrown, the seed of the woman has bruised his head forever. We are now ransomed from the galling yoke, we walk at liberty through the power of the great Liberator, the Lord Jesus. The Lord has found a ransom. The clock of mercy has struck in heaven the hour of deliverance, for the time had come as the eternal purpose of Jehovah decreed it. If we are ever set free from sin and Satan, it will be eternally and infinitely true that the Lord brought us forth out of the house of bondage.

We do know that Satan goes about the camp like a sentinel, spying out every soul, and he shoots his fiery darts, suggesting that God has forsaken us, and he contends with great vigor for those who would escape him. He blinds the minds of them which believe not, and he raises objections and wrong inferences to keep men from seeing the saving light of Christ. Yet our Lord saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven, and having met him in the wilderness and on the cross, He has triumphed openly.

Therefore let us pray together. O Lord Jesus Christ, Thou great Head of the Church who hast conquered the arch enemy, we beseech Thee to put a stop to all the works of the devil in this life, whether direct or indirect or by any connection or influence whatsoever. Silence the accuser, halt his plans, and bind the strong man that he may not carry out his work. Let Thy victory be substantial in this soul, let myriads of mercies flow from Thy finished work, and bruise Satan under our feet shortly. Give power and victory to Thy servant who cries to Thee, and let every faculty and emotion be kept as a chamber for Thy Spirit and not for the enemy. Keep us watching and praying, that we may not give Satan advantage, and give charge to Thy angels to keep us in all Thy ways till the foe is gone and we stand complete in Thee.

Take comfort that when Jesus Christ the Head was victorious over the foe, every member of His mystical body, even the most uncomely, was virtually a conqueror in the conquering Head. So we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. Abide in Christ, trust His blood and His righteousness alone for salvation, and look for His continual keeping. He who has begun the good work will perfect it, and He shall be honored forever for His victory over every force of evil. Amen.

Your prayer asking Jesus Christ to bring to nothing the works of the devil, to silence his mouth, to halt his plans and to restrain his power has been heard, and we join our prayer to yours before the Lord.

Scripture teaches us two great truths together. First, Christ has already accomplished deliverance for us. He has borne the curse of the law, fulfilled its righteousness for us, and brought us into sonship so that we have received the Spirit of adoption and have put on Christ. Second, we still wrestle in this present age against the principalities and powers, against the world rulers of this darkness who occupy the space under heaven. Their kingdom belongs to this age and will cease with it, but for now the struggle continues. For this reason the font of grace is not sufficient alone unless after it we display a life worthy of the gift, adorning ourselves with good and holding fast the crown that has been given, guarding this treasure so that the righteousness which Christ fulfilled may abide in us and not come to nothing.

Even the apostle who was delivered from the lion's mouth, from the ferocity of those who sought his life, looked for a greater deliverance still, to be delivered from every evil work, not to be allowed to depart with condemnation, but to be kept so as to resist sin even unto blood. So we pray for you in the same way. We do not ask as from old fables, but according to the sure promise of God.

We pray that our Lord Jesus Christ, who has conquered death and will at the last bind the adversary completely, would even now restrain the evil one in his direct and indirect workings and in every influence, would silence his accusations, would bring his counsels to nothing in your life, and would keep you from falling into impatience or evil counsel in times of trial. May He deliver you from every evil work, strengthen you to stand firm, to keep yourself from evil deeds and to be adorned with good, and to walk in the freedom and sonship that is yours in Him. May He fill you with wisdom to discern the adversary's plotting and with grace to remain steadfast, abiding with Christ and apart from the company of evil, established by His word and by the proof of His mercy.
