Beloved of All
Your prayer for the Lord's protection and victory is heard, and your desire to see every work and plan of the enemy stopped is right and biblical in its heart.
Scripture teaches that Jesus has already won the decisive victory over Satan through the cross. In Colossians chapter 2 we are told that He triumphed over principalities and powers, making an open display of that victory. At Calvary Satan was defeated once and for all. He is a defeated foe, a created being who is not the opposite of God, and when we come against him in the name and victory of Jesus Christ he must yield. We can point him to the cross where he was overcome.
At the same time the Bible shows that God has for now allowed Satan a limited liberty within boundaries that God Himself has set. Jesus called him the prince of this world, and in this present time he still works as a deceiver and accuser, seeking to blind minds and to hold people in darkness. He knows his time is short, and his final end is certain. Revelation tells us that he will one day be fully bound and at last cast into the lake of fire, but until then he is allowed to operate only as far as God permits.
That is why our victory now is found by remaining in Christ and claiming His victory day by day. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. As you submit your life to be ruled by Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can rule over sin and resist the enemy. Do not enter into dialogue with his suggestions, but stand in what Jesus has done. You can have real victory in your own life and you can bring that victory into the lives of others through prayer, asking the Lord to set them free from blinding influences so they can make a free choice for Him. When you rejoice in the Lord's victory and resist the devil in Jesus name, Scripture says he will flee.
So let us pray together along these biblical lines. Father, we thank You for the finished work of Your Son upon the cross where Satan was defeated. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would guard this life from every direct and indirect work of the enemy, silence every accusation, and frustrate every plan that is against Your will. Within the boundaries You have set, we ask You to restrain the powers of darkness and to keep this dear one in Your protection, for You have promised to give Your angels charge over Your people and to keep them. Fill this heart with Your Holy Spirit, give strength to do Your will rather than the will of the flesh, and let the victory of Jesus be lived out daily with joy and peace. We look forward to the day when Satan will be fully and forever removed, and we trust You until then to be our refuge and deliverer. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
