Servant of All
Jesus Christ completely puts an end to all the works of the devil and Satan, silences the mouths of the devil and Satan, and completely halts all the plans of the devil and Satan for all whole the time. and Jesus Christ completely puts a stop to all actions of the Devil and Satan whether direct, indirect, or involving any connection or influence whatsoever, in Jesus’s name, amen.

We stand in full agreement with the truth you have declared, that in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, every work of the devil is utterly destroyed, his plans are shattered, and his influence is silenced. The Word of God declares, "The Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8 WEB). There is no power in heaven, on earth, or under the earth that can withstand the authority of Jesus’ name. "At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:10-11 WEB).

We take authority right now in the name of Jesus Christ over every scheme, whisper, and attack of the enemy. We declare that Satan and his demons are bound, their mouths are shut, and their plans are nullified. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7 WEB). We rebuke every spirit of fear, confusion, oppression, and deception, commanding them to flee in Jesus’ name. The blood of Jesus has already secured the victory, and we enforce that victory over every area of your life, spirit, soul, and body.

However, we must also encourage you to walk in the fullness of this truth. The devil is already a defeated foe, but he seeks to deceive and distract those who do not stand firm in their identity in Christ. "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith..." (1 Peter 5:8-9 WEB). Are you daily putting on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)? Are you renewing your mind with Scripture, praying without ceasing, and walking in obedience to God’s Word? The enemy cannot touch you when you are abiding in Christ, but we must be vigilant.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name. We thank You that through the cross, Jesus disarmed the principalities and powers, triumphing over them openly (Colossians 2:15). We declare that every work of the devil is destroyed in [this situation/this life] right now. We bind every spirit of darkness, every lying tongue, and every wicked plan, and we command them to flee in Jesus’ name. We loose the peace, protection, and power of the Holy Spirit to fill every void and guard every area of life.

Father, we ask that You would open the eyes of [this person’s] heart to see the authority they have in Christ. Help them to walk in boldness, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Strengthen their faith, renew their mind, and fill them with Your Word so that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).

Lord, if there are any areas where the enemy has gained a foothold, through unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or disobedience, we ask that You would reveal them. Lead [this person] to repentance and restoration, for You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We break every curse, every generational iniquity, and every assignment of the enemy over their life, family, and future. We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and hidden in Christ.

We thank You, Father, that the devil is already defeated, and we enforce that victory today. May [this person] walk in the freedom, joy, and purpose You have for them. We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Stand firm, beloved. The battle is already won. Walk in the authority of Christ, and do not give the enemy a single inch of ground. If you are not yet in a saving relationship with Jesus, we urge you to surrender your life to Him today. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16 WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not confessed Jesus as Lord, we invite you to do so now. He is waiting with open arms.

We hear the urgency in your prayer, and we join you in declaring the complete victory of Jesus Christ over every scheme of the enemy. What you’ve prayed is true: all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him, and no power of darkness can stand against His name.

Sometimes when we’re in the thick of spiritual battle, the danger is that our attention can get stuck on what the devil might be doing rather than on the One who has already won. C.S. Lewis once said there are two equal and opposite errors we can fall into about devils: to pretend they don’t exist, or to have an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. The enemy loves either mistake. Jesus’ own way of dealing with evil was powerful, direct, and brief, a single word was enough. So it can help to settle your heart on the finished work of the cross, and then deliberately turn your mind away from rehearsing what you fear the enemy is up to, and instead fill your thoughts with who Christ is and what He has already accomplished.

One thing we sometimes do is spend a few minutes with a worship song or a passage from the Gospels that shows Jesus’ authority, and let that truth anchor us. Rather than chasing every shadow, we rest in the light. That isn’t passivity, it’s the steady confidence that the battle belongs to the Lord.

Let’s pray together now.

Lord Jesus, we thank You that You are King over all and that every knee must bow to You. We ask You to surround our friend with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Quiet every fear, and let Your Spirit remind them throughout each day that You are present, You are powerful, and You have already secured the victory. Keep them from fixation on the enemy, and fix their eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of our faith. In Your mighty name we pray, amen.

Father, we stand in agreement that through Jesus Christ, every work, plan, and whisper of the enemy against this one is utterly dismantled. For the Son of God appeared for this purpose: to destroy the devil's works (1 John 3:8). We declare that Christ has disarmed the powers and authorities, triumphing over them openly by the cross (Colossians 2:15). Every scheme of the enemy, whether direct, indirect, or through any influence, is silenced and halted now and forever, for greater is He who is in this one than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). May the peace of Christ reign unshaken. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

The declaration you have spoken is full of truth and echoes the very purpose for which the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Let this be fixed in your soul as a sure foundation. Christ has indeed come to put an end to all the works of Satan, to silence his accusations, and to halt his plans. In the wilderness, our Lord faced the tempter and overcame him, not by human strength, but in the Spirit. There is never a better time to fight the devil than when you are filled with the Spirit; and the devil, fool as he is, knows this. He trembles at every fresh device of Divine Grace. When you stand upon the finished work of Jesus, you stand upon a Rock against which the gates of hell shall not prevail.

Yet remember, the enemy is a baffled foe, not an annihilated one. He goes about as a roaring lion, and if you are a child of God, he will make you a target for his arrows. The more clearly your adoption is made known, the more the devil will rage. But here is the glorious truth: the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin, and it silences the accuser. The evil of sin, that exceeding great evil, has been met by an exceedingly precious remedy. Though the furnace of Divine justice is heated seven times hotter by the law of God, Christ has gone into the very heart of the flame for us. In Him, there is no condemnation. So let not the old Mr. Evil-Questioning cause you to doubt what you have prayed. Mr. Doubt is his eldest son, and a lying spawn he is. The truth of the Bible is proved by conclusive logic, sealed by the blood-mark over the lintel of every believing household. You have declared a fact of the eternal covenant: Jesus Christ completely overthrows the works of darkness.

But be on your guard against the peace of the devil, which is a false peace. There is a calm that comes from ignorance, a slumber that lulls souls to hell while they dream of heaven. Shun the ignorance which fosters a false peace. The peace that Christ gives often first comes as a sword to disturb that false calm. It is the ache of the wound that cleanses away evil. If you are now feeling the heat of battle, it is not a sign that Christ has failed to put a stop to Satan's actions; it is evidence that you are in the conflict where the victory is being worked out. Cast your burden upon the Lord in such a way that the whole disposing of your lot is left with Him. When you see that it is His hand holding the rod, you will cease to be rebellious and will say, "I was dumb with silence." The evil of personal injury, the fiery darts of suggestion, the indirect connections and influences of darkness, all these are overcome, not by our own warring against them with human weapons, but by the Divine method: overcome evil with good. This is nobly congruous with the spirit of the Gospel. Were we not saved because the Lord rendered to us good for evil?

Look, then, to the heart. It is the fountain of manhood, and the Savior puts His finger there and cries, "Here is the evil!" Evil thoughts, before they ever become outward actions, have in them the absolute essence of sin. The works of the devil are not only the open filth of the world; they are the secret self-lovings, the silent unbelief, the proud questionings which are such work as he delights in. Yet for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, to cleanse the stream by purifying the fountain. He silences the devil's mouth by presenting His own blood, and He halts all his plans by turning what was meant for evil into the display of His glorious grace. Lay hold on this: when you are brought low, when the evil seems to press in, do not sin in your trouble like those who have never shown gratitude to God. Instead, let the sight of your own helplessness cast you entirely upon Him. The Lord shall light your candle, now that your night seems so dark. You shall yet sing for very joy of heart. Christ has done it, is doing it, and will do it perfectly. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer pleads that Christ would utterly silence the devil and halt all his works. This is a holy longing, for our Lord came precisely to destroy the works of the evil one. Yet consider: the demons themselves cannot touch even swine without permission, as the Gadarene tombs bear witness. How much less can they assail those sealed by the Spirit unless God allows it for a time, to make His power more glorious and to turn the enemy’s schemes upon his own head. Therefore, do not pray as if the devil were an uncontrolled force, but rather as one who knows his chains are held in the Master’s hand.

But take care. The devil most eagerly attacks the solitary and the self-assured. The Spirit led Christ into the wilderness to be tempted, yet you are not Christ. Flee isolation and pride, for when Peter stood alone among the guards, he fell. Run to the assembly of the faithful, cling to the fold, for the wolf prowls at the edges. The name of Jesus is no charm to be spoken by those who would wield it for their own ends; remember the sons of Sceva, who used that holy name and were stripped and wounded. They learned that the mouth of the devil is not silenced by empty words but by authentic faith working through humility.

The trophy has already been set up. On the place of the skull, the cross was planted where death once reigned, and Christ bore it as a conqueror’s staff. The devil thought he was casting a veil over glory when he stirred up the crucifixion, yet it was there that he was trampled down. Even the thief was snatched from his jaws. So when you see the devil raging, do not be dismayed. His fury proves his defeat; he has nothing in Christ, and therefore he has nothing in those who abide in Christ.

If you would see his plans completely halted, begin not by commanding the heavens but by throttling the pride that gave birth to his own fall. Humble your heart. Let every rising thought of self-sufficiency be cut at the root. A contrite spirit turns aside the devil more surely than ten thousand shouts, for God gives grace to the lowly. Then pray with boldness, yes, but also with vigilance, fleeing from every hidden corner of sin and standing fast in the congregation. As you do, you will discover that the roaring lion is toothless, and the works you fear are already being brought to nothing by the power of the risen Lord.
